    Hey guys. So I've been wondering for a while now but I didn't want to start a flame war between brawl and mcpvp. But I've found the solution. I came from mcpvp so all I ever knew was the mcpvp servers. For me, the community wasnt as closely knit as the brawl community, but I loved the gamemodes and the informal attitude, especially near the end. So here's my question: what did you enjoy about brawl if you were from brawl, and what did you enjoy about mcpvp if you were from mcpvp?

    Nothing, I'm from Brawl and no offense but after the merge I have played one of the servers from McPvP and immediately gave up. I played McPvP around 3 years ago but never made any friends or got into the forums or anything, but it was my favorite server. Then I moved over to brawl and got addicted to McWar. I came back to McPvP maybe a month before the merge. I spent maybe ten minutes on maze runner and then got off. I personally don't like any of the McPvP game modes.
    NOTE: The chat was terrible on the gun server you guys had when I went on.

    On McPvP I just liked... everything. Everything appealed to me - I liked all the staff (until the last month or so of its life), I liked all the gamemodes, I liked most of the players. It was something which I could just play when I had a bad day at school to cheer me up.

    I think you would have liked the old Brawl / MPS a lot more than the current one. You used to have a close knit community where everyone knew everyone and people were a lot more friendly and there was a good vibe to all the servers. Now the community is full of rage, hate and other nasty things. Brawl also used to be unique, it was servers like War, WarZ and Party which put us on the map and we have lost that special touch IMO.

    Sorta like what @Mrcowlick said, back in the day, everyone on Brawl knew everyone. Also, War used to be the main part of Brawl back then. That was nice. {d3rgps31}

    Way back on Brawl, there was originally MCWar, where everyone was generally nice to each other. Everyone knew each other, and there were some rivalries between clans. Then, MCWarZ came into being, and DARKxClutch_69 joined the server, and people started to hack. Not aimbot or FF, ddos and dox. Fun times.

    I really enjoyed the old creative community, there still is one today but it has kinda died out. I've had a lot of great memories with old creative players that have left brawl.

    SG with @Lozzylouise
    Just nothing topped it. A lot of active brawlers overlooked SG. No one really knew the community unless you were actually apart of it. Everyone was so kind and driven. Everyone strived to be the top player. Even though it was competitive we all treated each other with the upmost respect. Best time of my Minecraft life. Me and @Lozzylouise still get upset about its death.

    Owh this kind of thread... It reminds me of the sad past.

    In MCPVP, I loved playing maze, sabotage, ctf and build. I met most of my friends on those game modes ^^
    When MCPVP first merged with brawl (when the servers aren't there yet), I enjoyed SG and creative.

    I really was in my own world during the time I first played, I didn't even know Brawl all I knew was mc-warz since I first joined, actually I think I accidentally donated to mc-war back on the old forums. I really liked it back then just because I enjoyed the old players and my friends and their attitudes more than most of the new players. i had lots of fun I first played with my factions group from a different server and we had so much fun as white names thinking that getting to gas station was the biggest accomplishment. Really wish I could go back in time cause I would love to do it over again.

    The thing I miss most is probably the laid back moderation. While Brawl has made HUGE changes to the staff system, I really do miss just hopping on Headshot and building whatever pleases me. On HG and really all of the MCPVP gamemodes, mods were free to change up the game a bit more. I also miss that mods only had perms on one or two servers. It made it so that only experts were mods on the specific gamemodes.

    I also miss the clear hierachy as far as gamemode development goes. If I wanted to talk to someone about Raid changes, I knew who to talk to. If I wanted to talk about HG changes, I knew where to go.

    I enjoyed the community back then. Almost no people swearing when I was online. And realizing that there was a thing called /hub with more different gamemodes, which I didn't know .-.

    i soooo much prefer the mcpvp moderation system. i was never a mod but from what i understood people were generally asked to moderate as opposed to brawls dumb application system. there were mods specific to forums and mods specific to each server, as opposed to here where if ur a mod then u get mod on every server and the forums and ts. imo it just meant that people actually knew the moderators as players and not as some separate entity whos job it was to watch over every1 and smite them down whenever they did anything wrong

    On McPVP I...tbh cared a lot less about who won and who lost, and it seemed everyone felt the same. There wasn't really an involved community. The CTF maps were bigger, harder to navigate, and less balanced, but it was still fun, and I miss it.
    Brawl definetly has a more involved community and more balance, but...tbh...seems to have more...well...let's put it this way: less respect to others in the community, the staff is great, but with more members comes more trouble.
