    image.jpeg Hey I'm putting out a poll for a 'feature' that got removed during 1.8, namely the ability to change spawner types. I think a lot of people liked and used this feature, and I know that I was disappointed that it got removed. I wanted to get the community's opinion on reinstating it for 1.9. Please leave a comment below...

    So my take is yes, this should be implemented BUT it should require 50 levels to change a spawner type. This will make these bases rare, more valuable, and something that a team would have and use vs a new/unaligned player.

    I've always liked the idea of there being "bosses" which randomly spawn around the map. It'd be cool if you could change spawners using a mob egg and the item a boss dropped.

    I like the idea, but maybe not 50 levels. Like a moosh cow spawner would take 100 levels to create and that seems a bit excessive

    But it would be extremely OP. I remember having a cow spawner early on that would spawn cows, which would go into a fall trap, be cooked with lava on the way down, and die and drop steak and leather into a chest. It was literally like printing money.

    Oh you don't know the half of it. I have 1,000 soups out there that I scraped off the ass end of a moosh cow and probably have E Coli; if half the server gets sick eating soups, that's why

    I would like this feature added again. Having levels would balance it, however, it still ruins the praised vanilla aspect of the server. I think only some spawners should be allowed. Pigman, ghasts, mooshies, and wither skeletons are too op IMO. I think only passive mobs should be allowed.

    Implementing this would be nice in my opinion, but in my opinion it should be very difficult to change the spawners. It should depend on the amount of XP and how valuable the mob is. For example the mooshroom should cost 100+ xp, the pigmen should cost 75+ xp etc. Maybe there should also be an amount of gold that the spawners need to be changed.

    It isn't particularly vanilla since it is a bug but it would be helpful in some ways like getting food or leather. I would like it back but the thing is, is that the bug gives the player an advantage which means everyone wants it back. The XP would kinda balance it, but it should be high prices or just hard to get overall.

    Getting spawn eggs in survival is not, so the feature isn't vanilla by virtue of the mob capture mechanic. That being said though, the spawn eggs have much less value if they are used just for transporting single mobs.

    Yeah, the only things I use mob eggs for now are messing with people or starting out a new farm once in a blue moon. Perhaps it would be easier if spawn eggs themselves were more expensive to obtain than having a new system to change the spawner type.

    Graff, you say in the poll choice that 'not vanilla' but it is in vanilla, yes, spawn eggs can usually only be acquired in creative, but the process of clicking a spawner to change it is a vanilla feature.

    Anyway, I really like this feature, and am although it makes the game slightly OP in some aspects, having to use a lot of levels to do this would be a good way of moderating their commonality.
