HG Feasts Update - 2/20/16

    » FEASTS UPDATE «

    Aaand here we are, 2 weeks after the biggest HG update. One step at the time we're getting out of beta.
    Last time we were talking about kits, now it's about feasts - and kit fixes, as always. If you are interested in the details and the theory, I invite you to check this post.

    » Game Element Changes:
    • Complete feasts revamp:
      • Feast platform is bigger (radius of 30 blocks, previously 23);
      • Added different feast themes, depending on the biome in which it spawns. Current themes are: plains, desert, snow and nether (more to come);
      • Chests are dispersed throughout the platform;
      • The enchantment table can now create better enchants, with the help of the bookshelves (which can be destroyed to adjust the results);
      • Chests contain more and better loot;
      • At the moment the feast is placed, players located on the platform are teleported at the edge.
    • The forcefield no longer shrinks and doesn't deal any damage, unless you somehow get outside (more to come next week);
    • Lowered pre-game waiting times: servers will take between 10 and 20 minutes to start. Will likely be reduced even more.
    » Major Kit Changes:
    • Fixed Surprise kit;
    • Added Monster kit;
    • Reverted Snail and Viper;
    • Changed Kangaroo and Grappler uses count to 150 (previously 100);
    » Other Kit Changes/Fixes:
    • Thors can break blocks with their axe;
    • Gladiator arenas are now effectively inescapable;
    • Backup inventory is no longer cleared when selecting the new kit;
    • Re-added Kangaroo fall damage reduction;
    • Fixed Endermage teleportation & endless invincibility bugs
    • Fixed Pickpocket item duplication glitch;
    • Fixed Gambler's infinite clicking & iron armor reward;
    • Re-added Jackhammer downwards digging and increased digging speed;
    • Redstoner now receives 8 TNTs at the start of the game;
    • Fixed Spirit invincibility;
    • Fixed Tarzan vines despawning;
    • Burrower slime balls now also show the remaining uses as the item amount;
    • Dwarf ability doesn't trigger if there are no entities around;
    • Fixed Levitator & Grenadier shots power;
    • Rhino projections make victims jump a lot higher;
    • Grenadier charge-up time reduced to 2 seconds (previously 3);
    • Kaya traps will keep working even if the block is turned into soil. Note that in order to create the trap, you need to place a grass block. The trap will stay valid even if the block is turned into dirt, mycel or soil.
    - Fixed radius detection for the following kits: Array, Dwarf, Endermage, Kangaroo, Madman, Rogue, Spellmaster, Timelord.

    I had already been teleported away when feast spawned a couple days ago. Are the feast themes implemented currently? And what is defined as "better loot"?

    Ah ok, I hadn't seen that post.
    This guy I was fighting and I both were teleported mid fight a couple days ago when the feast spawned though so, I don't know.

    Were you teleported when it said "Feast begins in 5?" Coz that's because you were at the place where the feast was supposed to spawn, so they moved you so you won't suffocate

    I really like how the chest are sparsely located through the platform now. Very noob friendly (like me!) :stuck_out_tongue:

    When you say "re-added Kangaroo damage reduction," do you mean the fall damage reduction Kangaroo used to have, or made it so Kangaroo can't really jump when attacked?

    *Fall damage reduction. Thanks for pointing out.

    I actually forgot to implement it when originally porting the kit, it now works as it did before.

    Alright cool. Does the fall damage reduction only work when there are uses left or will work all of the time?

    It's not related to the main kit ability, so it still works when there are no uses left.
