Hello players of build,

This thread is really long, so i suggest you read it properly when you are awake and have some snacks, or biscuits or popcorn to share some more light on the subject.

I have been searching into this for sometime and thought this would be a really good idea to do a build competition. Remember (if you were from MCPVP) in those old days where you had to build anything at all, then submit it to a certain topic and await it to be seen? Well this everyone is what I wish to bring back. Not only is this event fun, it also improves players buildings in general. All questions will be answered in this topic hopefully. I may most likely miss a few out so just post underneath if you have any questions regarding the build competition.

How will the competition work?
You as an individual or as a group will create/build something fantastic for other brawlers in the competition to see. There are only specific requirements which are to have fun as always and remember not to stress too much if you are denied. Me as an individual will be checking the builds when this first starts but hopefully i will be recruiting staff for this event who come on time to time to help us out and choose the winners a long side with me. The competition is set a deadline that isn't too short. Like anything however you may think the deadline is too long but that depends how many people enter the competition. Like said above it's a fun competing game but isn't taken really seriously. If you are to win, it's just a matter of been congratulated and will be remembered on a wall of fame every time this event begins every month. It will start every month towards the start or at the end of the month like the 29th or something. Hopefully this can become a fantastic thing again like it used to be, because we want to make Brawl fun as possible and hopefully make it a lot like you guys enjoyed it at MCPVP.

What happens when I win?
When a player wins the competition, a big congratulations will be given to you by me and other members. To win the competition, you have shown everything required to win (eg Used wide variety of blocks). But this one pointer/requirement wont let you pass. Just because you threw a few different variety blocks doesn't necessarily mean you will win sadly. But to be positive, just start basic then start adding detail afterwards. So when you win you will be placed with a staff position with Moderator to help us out in deciding the best build for the competition. There are no custom tags for the build competition for mod or anything like that but will be placed on the forum. It is also optional to be a mod, you can just be placed as a "Former winner" of the contest which means you don't need to trouble checking out players map. My friend @Fawely or @xxMineSheepxx will probably help you out with the building. But just a heads up to those tagged people, you can't help them too much, please understand that to me your level of building is fantastic and you are both winners already. So please don't build it for them but can give them tips. It's not really been harsh it's just trying to make the competition more fair for others.

What happens if you are denied?

When the mod (In this case the build comp mods) or me denies you, you are no longer in the competition. However it's not just accept and fail. We believe we should have a bigger range such as yes, no and maybe. Don't be saddened if you are denied, like anything get back up and try again the next month. This may really help you're overall building skills. Now obviously McBuild is a game for fun so this is an optional thing to take part in. But please don't take it personally if we deny you. We or I don't dislike you because I denied you. Also because you fail it doesn't mean you are "crap" at building. You could have come close by a few marks, and next time if you know what it is you need to work on, you should hopefully win next time with hope and fingers crossed .

What are marks?
Marks are going to be how we mark the builds. The reason we do marks is so that players can have an even share on who is the winner. Now the marks wont be set exactly but will only make it short up to something like either 10 or 20 marks depending on what's on the criteria (for eg: User has shown sufficient detail on the outside of the structure) But things like this you wont need to worry about unless you want to have a go at being a staff member for the competition. PS: Don't all just ask to be staff, the way this will work is I will probably judge the first one and maybe bring a friend who I trust a long with me first then who we think has what it takes, winner or not could be staff. The winner can be valued the staff rank once they win.

Asking to be accepted?
Please do not ask to be accepted in the contest. If we deny you, we deny you sadly. There is no other questions asked. You can not ask to be a winner in any contest. It comes with motivation and hard work. (I bet you feel like you are back in school now, must apologize ^.^)

How to join the competition and submit builds?
The simple way to join is to write below "I'm in" just anything to tell us that you are interested in joining. When it comes to submitting them when the builds have been done (I will check on everyones builds to make sure you finish on time. But please don't enter the contest and take ages to build something because everyone else might have submitted. So I must think about the amount of time between the contests on how long they go on for till the results day and who came first, second and third. There wont be a "last" it will just be the three I just mentioned so it doesn't make the person feel bad in any way. Like I keep saying, it's a fun event to please people.


Staff required? (Important section here!)
In good time, staff are required in this competition. Having staff will decrease the amount of complaints. With more than one person, makes an opinion better in this situation. It also helps with their ideas along with mine. I am not picky in the contest, as long as you have filled the requirements then you should be good to go. So I wont fail you if you miss a block or misplace something here and there. Staff are also required to check new people who want to join the competition. There is a closing date for new submissions so please be on top of this and be aware you will not be able to join till after it's finished. If you build something anyway, save it for the next build competition.

Submitting?:
Now I think it isn't really fair to post any images of players builds here because people will complain that theirs was better than that other persons. We want to avoid this as much as possible so the only images coming up will be the winners even though it may still cause a few fights here and there but we don't want this. If you are mean to any players in the competition you can be suspended. There are two types of suspension's that I will mention below.

Suspended players?
The list of players are suspended from the competition. Please do not take offence to this, you guys are all my friends but all you're builds are fantastically done and are near perfection. Everyone's buildings are unique in their own way but there is a limit to how good you can be even though that sounds silly. That doesn't mean everyone else are rubbish, it's just you guys have already reached you're goal to the great rank. The competition could lead to a rank like this in the future for them depending on what the community mods think. Any player in the Build team are not really allowed in the competition. I can maybe set something up for just the builder rank competition but I wouldn't really be the judge of the contest other than just organizing it. Like anything, I didn't suspend you because I don't like you or anything stupid like that.

Suspension 2:
You have guessed this one already. You are banned from the competition for a certain length of time. Depending on what you do can result in how long. Please just follow the normal build rules which apply to the competition also. If you happen to tp to someone who is part of this competition, you can tell them how good they are doing but remember it's a contest so if i was you, I would do the best you can first before trying to help others out but is just a tip.

Staff ranks?
They are just standard ranks. There wont really be an administrator it will just be a moderator or winner for the time being.


So most things have been answered in this topic, hope you consider joining. Glad you put up with all the rambling but I will just copy and paste this next month and change updates and things so I don't have to re-write this all again unless we get staff to do it for me if they so choose. So leave a comment saying you want to join if interested! Please join us, It will hopefully be a fun event. 3rd of March is the opening date of this competition. If there are not enough players competing, it will be put on hold until more join in time.

Like I said, it's not because I hate you or you have done something wrong. I just feel as if you would win every single time and it's not fair on other people ^.^

I could possibly set a map up for those who don't have one and private it. I have loads of maps from when I was testing old maps from MCPVP when I was moderator. So i should have a spare instead of them going to waste.

 

No it doesn't matter! As long as it is built and is good we accept.
