There have been a lot of frustration on the forums during the last few months. A significant amount of our players are willing to help. They think that brawl should let people help. But i know. Giving valuable code into the hands of not so trustworthy people, is not what i would do. My Question is: what do the higher staff members think?

I think we can help by reporting rule breakers :open_mouth:

You're suggesting allowing underage kids with minuscule to none coding ability to view/edit Brawl's NDA (non disclosure agreement) protected code?

There's a reason we don't hire every developer, even if they want to work for free.

As i said. I know that it is not a good idea to give the code into the hands of not so trustworthy people.

    I asked for yuor opinions.

I cant believe I am going to do it, but i am going to say what trump said. That was a very insulting statememt @Signatured just made. I'm not sure wheter or not you ment me when you said miniscule to none coding skills.

My question however is why or why shouldn't the people who want to help and have the needed abilities to help have the possibility to help?

What percentage of the community do you think has any coding experience? And of that percentage, how many have an in depth knowledge of the bukkit API?

I said what I said because that percentage is so small. Sure, there are those that might qualify. But then there's the age/trust/legal factor to work in. After all, there aren't many qualified left.

Sorry if I offended you in any way, even though I was speaking about the general community rather than any specific individuals.

I believe that around 5% has any coding experience. And of that percentage, i believe around 10 have some knowledge of the bukkit api. And of that percentage, say 5-10% are willing to help for free. So around 0.05% to 0.025% have the coding abilities to help. And of those, of course, many would not qualify cos of the age/trust/legal factors. But still how many devs are there?

I'm 16 years old, so i believe i'm not qualified cos of the age factor. And i haven't proved my trustworthyness yet. I unerstand the problems. Thanks for your attention Signatured. You answered my question. You can lock it if you want.

We currently have 8 developers (9 if Putty counts).

We've already evaluated ~35 legitimate developer resumes from Spigot. There is no reason to take on players that think they can "help" us. We handle our code in a very professional manner and it is not open sourced. We don't have time to mess around with people who just want to help when we have actual developers at our fingertips.

I'm not sure what you are wanting to get out of this thread to be honest. All of our current developers are assigned to improving our current code projects. We've actually ran out of old gamemodes to assign them to.

To be frank, I always see you spewing that you have all this "code knowledge" around on the forums by listing out 20 different languages. Why don't you build up your resume and open source projects if you are actually serious about your art.

Again, I'm tired of seeing you talk in third person about "how good" of a developer you are. Prove it already? Quit tagging me in pointless banter.

I think signatured answered my question perfectly. And i'm not the best coder out there. Not even close. I tagged you before signatured my question. Im sorry for that.

And chickenputty ask me to code something if you want me to prove me (not so fantastic) skills. Or perhaps you are just tired off me. I truly understand that that might be the case.

    Thanks for your attention guys.
