Is there really a point in keeping NoSoup up? From what I've seen, majority of whatever is left of the HG community does not support NoSoup. I think getting rid of NoSoup servers and replacing them with soup servers would be better for the older players and for HG as a whole.

BUT WHAT ABOUT NEW PLAYERS? NOSOUP HG IS GOOD FOR ATTRACTING NEWER PLAYERS TO HG!

You can argue about this all you want. The fact of it is Brawl does nothing to attract new players to Hardcore Games. There is so much that Brawl could do, but they choose not to. Brawl has proven that they simply don't care about this gamemode and bringing in new players. Yes, they held a tournament the other week, which was a great idea. I wish Brawl would host events like these more often. However, there is no advertising for HG being done, thus no new players are coming to HG. If that's the way Brawl treats the HG community and the gamemode, at least make Hardcore Games worthwhile for whatever old players are still around to play. Have 6 soup servers rather than splitting it half and half. The other month Brawl took a vote on Soup or No-Soup servers, here are the results http://prntscr.com/ajwuc0 I figured Brawl would have listened to the community and actually done something, but nope. They clearly don't care about HG players.

So yea make Hardcore Games worthwhile while it's still a thing, at least consider the older players that have stuck around and had faith in Brawl to improve this game. NoSoup was originally created on McPvP for attracting new players to the gamemode, but if Brawl is not doing anything to attract new players, I really don't see a point in keeping these NoSoup servers up. It's definitely not fun sitting in the lobby for 15 or so minutes just to wait for a soup server to start.

Couldn't agree more. But I have been shouted down every single time I have proposed it.

Most players (and it's not close at all) prefer soup, I don't even know why its still up

Well there's a few who enjoy no soup, so maybe have more soup servers than no soup, 4-2 or 5-1

The reason I like NoSoup is because it takes a relatively short amount of time to play and finish up. SoupHG tends to take a little while longer (10-15 minutes more) because of the soup regenerating health and whatnot. So I support NoSoup for players like me who don't necessarily have long stretches of time.

But at the same time, I would not cri if NoSoup was taken down, because the arguments against them are quite valid. NoSoup is meant for player retention, as BBH stated. But there is more skill in Soup.

I've played HG since 2011 and I can honestly say that I like no-soup. Not because I prefer it but because I have got many of my friends from real life to play brawl through no-soup. I also like no-soup because it's very casual and as competitive as I like to get some times I just wanna chill.

Honestly the only way the no-soup issue could be resolved is if no-soup is removed and maybe if something is changed/added into soup HG to make it more noob friendly. This has been a problem since no-soup has been added, and will continue to be a problem until no-soup is removed.

    Hey! I love nosoup! D:
I don't really see what your issue is with it either. Has something changed in it? (I haven't been able to play any HG at all for a little while, but I do try and get on when I can.) You aren't being forced to play it, are you?
I guess it just confuses me why people want to remove a game that they don't even play. Sure, maybe you don't like it. But other people do!
I do think it needs a couple extra things to set it apart from soup. But that doesn't mean you have to give up on it :frowning:
And I do think your argument against it is a little strange. You put in bold at the top,

"BUT WHAT ABOUT NEW PLAYERS? NOSOUP HG IS GOOD FOR ATTRACTING NEWER PLAYERS TO HG!"
I'm going to correct you on this. You based your argument on the fact that you assumed this would be our argument. And then you said that "But Brawl doesn't advertise at all, so it doesn't matter anyway." Huh?
I guess I'm wondering here why your strategy to fix this, is to remove NoSoup, rather than to find a way to advertise.
If your argument to remove Nosoup is because without any advertising, it won't grow anyway, you might as well remove Soup HG too, because that one won't grow either

Anyway, that's not my argument for keeping it in the first place.
I don't think NoSoup is good for attracting new players. That is what advertising is for.
I think it is good for retaining new players.
Soup HG is fun, if you know how to soup, and have lots of practice on it. It is not as good at retaining new players because they give up long before they have played enough to have a chance. You want to leave Soup HG just the way it is, not for noobs, but for the veterans. I have literally no problem with that, because I only play soup if I am towering anyway. SoupHG will stay just how it is, and even with advertizing, slowly the vets will have to leave for some reason or another, and either the gamemode will die, or the vets will become scarce enough that new players will all be about the same level, and a new generation of SoupHgers will rise. :grinning:
But NoSoup is nicer for noobs because it doesn't contain a rather complicated, and mostly unique system that takes practice to learn properly. It is mostly Vanilla PvP, with kits that everyone can use, most of them without any sort of steep learning curve.
I actually have a smallish suggestion for Nosoup, to make it even more up-to-date and for the noobs, is that sometime, probably around the time that most other servers are doing it, update the combat to 1.9. Leave SoupHG at the combat it is now, for the vets, while updating and keeping Nosoup in contact with "normal" PvP, whatever it is at at the time.

Overall, I just resent the fact that since Brawl isn't advertising, you want to throw away the problem, instead of trying to fix it. It doesn't really correlate that well, removing NoSoup because there is no advertising. The whole server will die, eventually, if there is NO advertising, so why remove gamemodes? Instead, fix the big problem!

BTW, I resent the argument, not you. :stuck_out_tongue: You are usually a pretty fun person.

The demand for it is so low compared to soup it's not even funny, if no soup wasn't around then soup games start sooner. That's why people want it gone.
Sounds like you haven't played HG in a while because no soup sure as he'll isn't retaining new players it's the same people playing if there's anyone even on. Not even joking I played in a 30 person soup game, died and the next server starting in 1 minute which was no soup had no one on

I still think advertising would fix this. Let me work my way through the process.
No advertising = No new players
No new players = All old players, veterans who play Soup.
All veterans who play soup = only soup is popular.

    Advertising = new players
New players = playing both games
Both games played = Nosoup keeps more players because it is more new player friendly
Nosoup keeps more players = Nosoup is more popular.

But you just suggested the same thing that Stormneo did :/ You took some of the current facts, "Soup is more popular", and said that we should remove Nosoup, so Soup gets more servers. But while doing that, you disregarded the fact that most of the people playing HG at the moment are veterans, who like Soup and so play Soup.

I think both problems can be fixed really by advertising. I don't even know how to advertise, most of the time, but I do know what what it does is bring in more players.
I plan on making a animated video about HG and NSHG eventually, but that will take a while :stuck_out_tongue: Its better to get started now.

Now, at the moment, Soup has more players, so I wouldn't have an issue giving Soup a server or two from Nosoup. But that would need to be changed according to the amount of players playing the games, of course. :grinning:

Well I think that if no soup was better at retaining players it would have kept its part of the player base when both servers were filling up to 100 on here, now it barely has a fraction of those players, why did they leave? I've heard that from the beginning of the creation of no soup but the results just never show. I guess we both agree on advertising but after having the gamemode for a year and really doing nothing about them I don't think it's happening

Both servers did lose and are losing a lot of players though. Perhaps the uniqueness of Soup kept the Veterans longer than Nosoup did. It would probably be easier to see results when new players are actually joining. :stuck_out_tongue:
The thing for Nosoup is that the goal IS a noob friendly game as well as being fun for older players, making it a constantly changing balance. The PvP needs to stay updated, to whatever the normal is, but the uniqueness needs to stay, setting it apart from other HG/SG type servers. That's a balance that needs to stay with both Soup and Nosoup, keeping it fun.
So the issue is that Soup doesn't GET players, while Nosoup doesn't keep them forever. It is something that a new player will come back to, to play again, but its not always unique enough compared to other games.
I really liked the Events that happened during the tourney, such as the acid rain. It kept it interesting, while still being noob friendly, easy to understand and practice.
This is kinda devolving into another suggestion thread though, which wasn't exactly my goal. :/ So I'll just end there.

Brawl only advertises gun gamemodes like wild west or other gamemodes like skywars, causeing a lot of hate in the comments about spoiling MCPVP's YouTube channel. Anyway I'm pretty sure the main reason why Brawl isn't really doing anything to HG is because they make a good amount of money from HG and don't want to take any risks (even if it is a good risk to take).

Yeah... :/ Without advertising, it all goes down the drain.
Of course, we as a little community could do some advertising, not professional commercials and stuff but just videos of us playing HG and NSHG, for the fun of it. That would gather some new players.
I plan on making something for that, but it'll be while yet before its done...
