What's Your Favorite Book Series

Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series.

 

I saw the movies both were worth seeing.

 

The series Gregor.

The first book was Gregor The Overlander but the rest are all different though, so I guess I'll just call it Gregor.

It's not really when it is in the Off Topic section, but in other sections if the thread is not relevant then don't reply if it is older than 30 days.

 

Game of Thrones is fantastic, it's such a complex story with intertwining characters and plot; it's a superbly written book however can get distractingly hard to read with the laboured explanations in certain areas.

I would recommend the author "Jim Butcher" and his series "Codex Alera" as well, it is a six novel series based in a fantasy world known as Alera. The interesting part is Jim Butcher got his idea from an internet bet. He was talking to somebody in an internet chat room and got into a conversation entailing the fact that "good writers can write anything". The person in the chat room didn't believe that, and felt the "idea" was the big part of the story; and so they made a bet for Jim Butcher to write a book with a ridiculous idea and make it good. The idea was based on "Lost Roman Legion" and "Pokemon". I'd definitely recommend this story, because he implements these ideas so well and creates an overall captivating goose-bump worthy story with great characters..

Agreed. It's really too bad that the movie turned out to be little more than a pile of dragon dung though =/
