Ammo types

    With the new 2.0 update, there's already going to be some major changes. Some of those toward weapons. I wanted to put some thought into how putting different bullets into a weapon can change the way it acts, beyond putting ammo into different guns (difference there, different ammo --> guns/different guns <-- ammo).

    Let's say you open your loadout and take out your aa12, which fires rapid-fire shots all over the place. Now let's say you can load this weapon with 'low spread shells'. These shells modify the weapon's stats. Now your aa12 fires slightly further, shoots with less spread, but fires much slower.
    Let's say you open up your loadout and take out your trusty Barrett50c. You can load 'high velocity rounds' that will move much faster toward their target and deal slightly less damage (except on a headshot, of course)

    these two examples are just examples are arent balanced in any way, so dont fault me too bad on that. This would allow the already more customizeable war 2.0 to be even more so. They can be used to fill in the gaps between gun unlocks and make people more invested in the game. More people with more play options makes for a better game.

    I love this, this is actually really awesome.
    One way we can do this probably is adding in something like
    minecraft_seed:1 = More damage, slightly less reload speed
    minecraft_seed:2 = Faster reload speed, slightly less damage
    minecraft_seed:3 = Focused fire (accuracy), slightly lower firerate
    It might be possible to code in multiple types of the same item ID with different numbers for various effects

    Uhh why dont we make these realistic?
    For example, focused fire is a silencer pretty much so its less damage and higher range and more accurate. Silencers do not affect the fire rate
    For example a FMJ deals much more damage but it doesn't affect reload speed, well honestly, it could affect the magazine size because the rounds are larger, or they could have less range because the bullets are heavier.

    This sounds awesome, I'd really love to use different ammos. What Piky said seems like it would work perfectly.

    We have thought of adding multiple ammunition types which have different repercussions. We'll see about also making them alter gun stats as well.

    You guys share your ideas, let me worry about the implementation :stuck_out_tongue:

    By the way this wouldn't work because seed items don't have data, so whatever you put there would be erased by the server :grinning:

    It doesn't work that way. I've used several similar plugins to the gun plugin that they use currently, and having a seed with item data of :1 won't change anything. This could be done with dyes, because they have different item data tags (351:1, 2, 3, et cetera).

    This may change in the 2.0 however, so don't quote me on this. And don't make any funny puns about it. [QUOTE= ...

    I'm glad to see you guys are liking the idea.
    I'm literally so beyond happy to see this.
    Right here is more feedback about an idea (from someone who can actually affect the game) than I have ever seen since the war update in early 2014. I'm sold, so happy to have you working on 2.0 now. It's just a pleasant change to feel like your ideas aren't just getting dumped in the pile with the others. (Like they were not three months ago, which is why I stopped posting suggestions) and that they're actually being considered.

    Ikr XD but imagine it :O I think the fire rate would dramatically decrease and the mini would actually have to reload every 128 bullets.... And that type of 'special ammo' would have to be bought

    Ik this would be very op though XD
