Should we move to 1.9?

I'm almost 100% sure next map will be 1.9/1.7 friendly. But they won't use 1.9 combat format. Otherwise 1.9 combat changes would remove soup/pot pvp from the minecraft comunity. Instead you would like to spend 20min+ per fight.

I facepalm so hard at this post "it takes extreme skill to pvp in 1.9" ... what? no it doesn't. 1.9 makes any noob into a decent player because of their slow clicking. You probably wouldn't have to even hotkey because of how slow the fighting would be, you could probably scroll. "soup is getting kind of old" this is a soup server what do you expect lol that's like saying you're playing kohi but you think 1v1ing is getting old... if you're sick of soup then go play a potpvp server you're not being forced to play here

 

The pvping mechanics can be fixed in 1.9, and there are so many other cool features to the version that Survival needs. It's been in 1.8 since January of 2015. Continuing the version will simply be too boring again.

I agree, but I disagree with your reasoning. It would be nice to see all these new features like the wings and all that, but with the removal of the PvP mechanics. It would be really difficult to actually have a whole factions-like server with the 1.9 mechanics. Many people would leave if the server was updated with the new PvP.

 

I know of servers that are based in 1.7 but still allow users in 1.8 and 1.9 to join, I see that being the best way of doing it however the server will have to be a 1.7 server. Honestly it's a PVP SERVER. 1.7 has the BEST PvP out of all past minecraft versions, all of the big PvP networks run 1.7, so should we in our survival PvP.

 

As long as 1.8 is still in the picture, I'm all good.
