Post-Reset Sheriff PvP

Sheriffs already have the ability to purchase armor upgrades for money and maybe the will also soon be able to purchase better guns.

 

I agree that the sheriffs default gear should be worse (probably just remove the protection I enchantment and just make it basic iron armor); however, I always keep in mind that sheriffs are meant to be powerful forces that criminals RUN from, not try to fight all the time. Sheriffs are still able to be killed if you use a stealth advantage and decent weapons.

As of now, there's not much for sheriffs to do with their gold, so having the sheriff default kit nerfed would give incentive to buying the better sheriff gear out of necessity when going to arrest the better, more well-equipped bandits.

 

Yes Lord_Roke, But that armor upgrade is better than the gear they have. What dsawmed is trying to state is the kit they get all the time is a tad OP for the players that they face. Being that almost no one uses diamond armor atm the kit they have is literally over powering and basically allowing no one to fight them except suicidal people. He wants it where they have a weaker kit as he stated above so people can somewhat stand toe to toe with them instead of being completely blown away. So having a kit that they must buy keeps sheriffs doing their job and spend some money if a team of rogues at a rebel base proves to require better gear to subdue. The upgrade you are talking about "Prot 3 iron gear" is remarkably stronger than diamond.

Basically going with dsawemd's idea.

Starting kit ---> (Iron armor/Weaker guns)
Per life purchase of upgrade kit ---> (Prot 1 iron armor/Guns coach, repeater, S&W revolver)
Per life purchase of upgrade kit 2 ---> (Prot 3 iron armor/Better guns?)

This I think would effectively balance out sheriffs in this new economy providing the price for each of the kits are well within reason of how much a sheriff makes, but still making it a challenge to obtain the gear.

If you guys think this is pretty good or it needs worked on reply to this comment as this would benefit the server as whole.

Sheriffs are fine... Don't argue with the Roke_Inator.

 

It's important to note the balance needed. Though prices for selling did drop, so did the ones for items necessary for success in the game.
