    We cant just stay around and wait for everyone to pay their tickets, especially if after 3 mins some go to jail..

    I understand why he left quickly, none of us expect you to have money to pay off your bounty so we assume you will most likely be sent to prison. Though, I do tend to stay at a base for another minute or two to see if anyone else strolls in.

    This thread is getting a bit flamey and useless, we already discussed out opinions and changes so I am leaving it up to @Dsawemd to tag Roke to lock. If you don't want to, I guess go ahead and keep arguing.

    Wouldnt a solution here would be to just automatically uncuff the player once they pay off their ticket? I thought that was the point of this thread, to find a solution, not to bicker on whether sheriff abuse was present or not.

    @Lord_Roke just informed me that Cuffed players are supposed to take zero damage, and that any damage taken while cuffed is a bug. Since this bug has been part of Wild West for some time, can we please change the rules to say:

    Attacking a person the Sheriff has handcuffed is the same as attacking the Sheriff.

    I've had a time when I was handcuffed but one of my teammates was able to kill the sheriff. I was still handcuffed, couldn't move, and didn't realise I had to wait a few minutes so I did /logout and logged back in again, finding myself in prison.

    I think it'd be much better if you'd get unhandcuffed automatically when the sheriff that handcuffed you dies, so situations like that don't happen. Even if I did wait and get unhandcuffed, in that time another sheriff or some enemy players could come and kill me.

    Just to give you all an update on this, I believe that an auto-uncuff system is currently being coded. Just yesterday, a player I handcuffed paid their bounty off and it gave me the message "Player has paid off their bounty and been uncuffed." Only they weren't uncuffed. >:V So the message is in place, but the system is either bugged or hasn't been fully implemented yet.

    If an automatic un-cuff is added to a player who pays a ticket, they could easily kill a sheriff by a surprise after paying the ticket. They would just have to wait for the right moment.
    I think a player who pays a ticket should be automatically un-handcuffed within 10 seconds after paying the ticket. Sheriffs should still be alerted if a player pays a ticket.

    Sheriffs cannot reasonably expect safety beyond what the incentives of the Rogue and Bounty system offer, and how willing the player is to deal with those incentives. Whether you uncuff us manually, or we are released after you retreat, sometimes you might actually have to face danger. Gasp! Oh well you can just recuff us with your Anti-PvP-Bracelets, or use that lovely kit of yours to play the game.
