discord's permissions system isnt extensive enough to support a userbase as large as brawl

the sound quality is also worse than ts3 imo

COSMETICS (preference, genuinely annoying imo)

CONTROL

If something happens to TeamSpeak, @yinscape can fix it as soon as hes notified. Discord can monitor all chat, connection info, and live comms. Imagine if someone smart enough who wanted to target Brawl got in? Some people don't care about this (not even myself, but its still worth noting.) I'm not saying Discord isn't secure, but I'd rather have our on-board systems administrator handle our problems rather than Discord Support which could take hours.

PREFERENCE

BAN EVASION

TS3 isn't exactly ban evasion proof either, but @yinscape can also filter connections through Teamspeak's Certificate Security. Increase the security level, and he could make it so you have to wait as long as 10 minutes to reconnect, and that's just in TeamSpeak itself. A lot more can be done with IPTabling functionality. You can't block proxies on Discord like we can here.

PERMISSIONS

QUALITY

TeamSpeak isn't that expensive and it would very barely save Brawl money if any at all.
It's not like *you're* paying for it anyway.

 

I'm in discords with hundreds of active users, trust me the permissions are just fine.

I've been waiting for this, hopefully everyone can see eye to eye.

Also for anyone new to discord. Do not discount it right away. Wait until people join, try out the voice and chat channels, etc... Don't form your opinion until you've tried it out.

 

lol ctf global is superior

 

Running the CTF Global Server is pretty easy and its about 100 members, I dont think the Brawl community is much bigger

People can't create their own channels, because if they have this permission, they get to modify EVERY. CHANNEL.

Banning:
We have limitations on how long a specific rank can ban, this, is not possible on Discord.
If you have the ban permission, it comes in 1 way, permanent. That's stupid.

This is why even though we may not use even half of what Teamspeak offers permission-wise, why the customization is important for our community.

As I make this post, (12:30 AM EST), there are currently 26 custom channels made by the community. What would happen if we made a full switch to Discord and all of a sudden that ability was taken away from them? They'd go back to Skype or make their own private Discord (I mean, it only does take a press of a button). Theres a reason the public channels in TeamSpeak are empty.

 

Discord is simple, TS is not.

Simple as that.

 

"simple" is good for small communities or friend groups.
TeamSpeak is advanced because people who manage communities like the option of having full control.

TS3 is not any more difficult or easier to a new-comer when all they're doing is setting up their mics binds or joining channels.

 

Kappa. Just the fact that it's useable in browser without a download makes it easier.

It's an irrelevant statement in general. Downloading an application will take you all of 10 seconds. Who in the hell doesn't have the common sense that the application would be far better and optimized than browser use? lmao that's not even debatable.

 

Wrong again, Discord is obviously more user-friendly compared to TS.

@Yoshi Im a bit confused. You keep saying that you're against discord because chrome is very resource intensive, even though you can just download the discord client...
