Idea World Edit Training Camp

There already is an instruction tutorial on how to use World Edit actually I don't get on build much but, I do know there is a map that has tutorials on everything I think it's map 69 if not ask a jmod or a mod or someone

 

I believe the tutorial world is /map 36.. Don't go to /map 69, it's a uknowat club.

No because not voxel sniper on build, I would be up for teaching you if you own a server with mods or can download mods and voxel sniper.

 

I'm not exactly sure, but I think @Rhoske was the one that made the MCBuild tutorial world.

There's enough resources on World Edit that's accessible already, like my WE guide, Rhoske's tutorial world and the link on /help in game.

 

I like the idea, however, you will need to give people permissions to your map, which means it can't stay up as someone will grief/destroy blocks unnecessarily.

 

You an make backups, but I think that the best option in my opinion would be a world (Like /world WE) that has a demo of how to do use WE. Now, of course they won't have perms. So, somewhere in the world there is a sign that tells the player where the forums is (Adding more players to the forums) and how to download the map.

Basically there is a map that shows people how to use WE, but you can't do anything in it. However, somewhere in the map there is a sign that directs you to this sort of map, that you download and put in a save file. Then you can do it there.

Another idea would make a multiverse sort of thing? Were everyone get their own version of the map that they can do.

 

Or, some admin or something can use command blocks to
1. Make a copy of the important bits (the actual tutorial bit)
2. Then put a command block on a 1-tick clock, constantly cloning the copy of the tutorial into the right place, therefore you cannot place blocks where the tutorial space is.

There are other, better ways but I'll be here 'till Christmas, and they are slightly more complexed

 

I don't really see the need for it. I mean you can just practice on some empty space on your map.

 

Many people don't even know what the commands are. Sure they can practice, but what can they practice with? Also, not many build members know about map 36, the world edit guide link on /help and other things. However, I feel the same scenario will happen to this guide.

I think a much better solution to this is to put official guides into a place in the GUI of /map. It would allow players to be able to access the map anytime they want, and they would know about it. This official guides section can include guides to make specific gamemode maps too, like map 464 for a guide to making ctf maps.
