Brawl Junior Moderator Application: I am applying for Build J-mod.

Have you read over this thread? - Yes, many times and after a long period of thought I have came to the conclusion that I am ready to apply. I have also took the time to see other applications in order to see if I fit the standards.

What is your in-game name? - My in game name is currently aGuyInAsuite.

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. - I have never changed my name.

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? - No, my computer is locked from friends, strangers, and other people. The only people who may be able to access my account is my parents. I plan to make it so my minecraft does not have the ‘save password’ function enabled just in case someone does get into my computer.

How old are you? - Currently 13 years of age.

What time zone are you in? - EST (Eastern Standard Timezone) GMT -4.

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - I can speak English. I cannot speak other languages, I can pick up a few German, Spanish, and French words. I also know a few words of Russian from CS:GO...

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - I have been playing Minecraft for a very long period of time. I know most of the ins and outs of the game, along with valuable engine knowledge. Here is my MC timeline.

Pre-Mc; Eden - This was basically what got me into Minecraft. In 2011 I found this game called Eden on the app store and started to check it out. I was hooked making small cities, houses and slides. I started to branch out and look for videos on YouTube. After about 3 months of playing Eden, I found a game called Minecraft in my recommended box in YouTube.

Minecraft PE - Minecraft PE was where I started, I didn’t have a very god computer and Minecraft cost too much money. So I got Minecraft PE. It was in a very early stage of development, and it was so generic you couldn’t fly, but you had infinite blocks. This is where my love for MC started. I would build for hours, just sitting in my bed. Anyway, after much persuasion on my part I was able to purchase Minecraft on PC in 2012.

Minecraft PC - Since 2012 I have been playing Minecraft, whenever it gets boring I just leave for a month and come back refreshed. Anyway, I played single player for a long time trying to be like the Recruits in Suits. Soon, singleplayer got a bit boring so I decided to go into multiplayer. After fiddling around for a while I found an Economy server that really got me into the server loop. After exploring their CTF and falling in love with it I went to find more PvP servers.

Around the same time YouTubers where blowing up, and I started to watch big YouTubers. That’s how I found HG, and then found McPvP. I joined in late 2012 and played moderately on Hardcore Games, it wasn’t until mid 2013 when I really started to play McPvP. I mainly played Sab, along with Maze. I eventually started to get better and did KitPvP (Or should I say SaltPvP). Anyway I joined forums for Sab, then started to branch out. I started to play Build after my friend xps1530 made a sab map. Ever since then, Build has been my favorite gamemode and server.

Along the way I have also played Factions, and hosted a small server with my friends.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - This is usually where people don’t really have any experience, but just put in “I moderated a long lost sever”. I’m not going to do that, and be honest and say that I have never moderated any large MC server. I have moderated a few things. Currently I am builder for a small server with a friends of mine, and I was an Admin in my other friends server back in 2014.

Now, when I say Admin please take into consideration that it was just me, my friends and like three other people. Not much responsibility.

I also moderated a Gmod server, this time I actually gained experience. It was the first time that I moderated a semi-popular server. It took almost a year but I eventually got trial before the server shut down in 2015.

This isn’t a moderating job, but I am also Sheriff in Wild West.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? - This question is tricky, because Build is not like any other Gamemode. It has no hackers, and it requires a very special attitude. What I would bring is much less flame. The biggest threat to build is hate, flame, and 18+ profanity. For example yesterday someone was saying swearing indiscriminately, avoiding the filter and being racist. The entire time he was shouting:

“Lol little p****ies would you every report me you little chatreport f***** B*****”

I hope to make it the chat clean, after all you are supposed to build, not get harassed.

I also hope to help new players. There are always questions, like
“How do I make a map”
    “Why is everyone elite?”
    “What do I do?”

And even though there are 40+ people, no one ever answers and if they do then they be very snappy, and maybe make fun of the person. I already answer these questions (especially in WW because of the complicated gamemode) but if I do get J-Mod then I will make my best effort to help everyone.

Further, I want to make it so the TS isn’t always filled with mic spammers and soundboards.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - Nope, I have never used a hacked client on a server. I was banned for “hacking” by BrawlBot, which was false. (All I did was play CTF, then respawn. Next thing I know I’m banned) I have have used them in singleplayer to muck around and learn the hacks. Here is the hacks I know and how to spot them.

Kill Aura - This is mostly known has ‘Nodus’ but is actually called Kill-Arua. It has multiple forms. Most of the time it is hitting every person in a 5-6 block radius with sped up click time. This can also be Forcefield.
    • Watch for erratic and quick head snaps
    • Hitting multiple people at the same time
    • High CPS

Fastbow - Shoot your bow at wildly fast speeds.
    • Pretty easy to find, arrows being fired faster than possible.

Other Aim Hacks - Other aim hacks are assorted, most Aimbot which aims at the player, tracking them. You hack to manually hit them.
    • Look for snapping
    • Very smooth turning and 100% accuracy.

Reach - Being able to objects/people at an abnormally long distance
    • Self explanatory, hitting at a long distance

Anti KnockBack - Cannot take knockback.
    • Look for them not being flung back from attack.
    • Make sure that the server is not lagging

Fly - Allows you to fly.
    • Look for continuous flight
    • Make sure that there is nothing that could make them fly (TnT, sponges)
    • Make sure server isn’t lagging
    • Look to see if they walk very fast or swim up water very fast.

Spider - Allows you to climb up walls.
    • Look for climbing up walls
    • Make sure that the server isn’t lagging and that there is no water, ladders, vines, or E-pearls

Criticals - Allows players to always get critical hits.
    • Look for rapid amounts of critical particles
    • Small bunny hops

Xray - Allows you to see through blocks to players, ores, and chests.
    • Look for very curvy, and direct tunnels.
    • A lot of ore as well.
    • Digging straight down into a base

Regen - Practically invincible, you regen hearts faster than you can lose them.
    • Sustaining large amounts of damage
    • Well… hearts regening in /v

AutoSoup - Allows the player to soup, without needing to do anything.
    • /v, soups being eaten, tossed out/put back in the inventory at perfect speeds, with non mistakes.

Sneak - Allows players to sneak while moving at regular speeds
    • Sneaking, while moving at fast speeds.

Fastplace - Placing blocks at an abnormally fast speeds.
    • High cps
    • General fast building.

Speed - Allows players to run at abnormally fast speeds without a speed effect.
    • Fast running.
    • Check to make sure there is no lag.

Nuker - Players can break large areas at a time with hands, or with a pic. This is different from FastPlace, because it breaks a large area in one click.
    • Breaking large areas in a single click.

NoFall - The player has no fall damage.
    • The player does not die from large drops.
    • Make sure there is no lag.
    • Make sure that they are not using a kit that makes them immune to fall damage..

Derp - head changes direction while still on target on the players screen. Used to confuse players/spinbot.
    • Erratic fast head spinning.

Glide - Allows players to glide.
    • Slow/fast gliding.
    • Make sure that there is no lag.
    • Make sure that there is no chunks loading.
    • Make sure that your memory is not overloading at the time.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - Nope, I have never been banned for a serious reason, and I plan to keep it that way.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - I consider my urge to help people one of my greatest strengths. I often take time out my my day to build Guides, help people, and make training maps.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? - My greatest weakness is sometimes I do get salty, but I have been trying to decrease my salt (You can tell from my mute history). I’ve been trying to work on my politeness, as well.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? - I would consider myself a very active member of Brawl. Specifically, Build. I have been spending a little more time on Wild West, purely because it is new and I just got Sheriff. I will balance my time more, in order to fulfill all of my moderating duties.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t play to become a mod. I play to help the people. I only said “Balance my time” because I have been finding my new sheriff duties quite fun. I have a feeling that they won’t last, considering it is a very monotonous task at times.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on? - Definitely Build. As stated above, I have been playing a bit more Wild West, but that will change soon.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? - On most weekdays, I could provide 2-4 hours of playtime. However, on weekends I could perform 3-6 hours. As for forums, I check almost every 30 minutes or more. As for teamspeak, whenever I’m in the game I try to join TS.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? -
    Chat

Bypassing The Filter - I would start by warning them. Next, if they continued I would tempmute/warn them again based on the severity of the message. If they continued to do so, I would contact higher staff.

Profanity - I would politely ask them to stop, if they refuse I would warn them. If they continued, I would administer a tempmute. If they still continued, I would kick/mute/seek higher staff.

Flame - If someone was raging, or flaming in chat I would first tell them to calm it down. If they continued, I would mute/kick them. As always, if they still continued I would mute or seek higher staff.

    Advertising
    • Minor (I like the [insert server here] better than Brawl’s Minestrike) First I would tell them that that is a kind of advertising. If they continue, I will clear the chat and mute them.
    • Major (PLAY BRAWL.COM FOR AWESOME SERVER!!!!!!!! NOWW ←) I would clear the chat, the tell that person to stop advertising. If they comply, I will leave them alone. If they continue, I would clear chat again and mute them. I would also record it to give to a higher staff member.

    Hacking/Glitches

Hacking - I would record the hacker, in /v. Once I believe I have sufficient evidence that the player is hacking, I would kick the player and report the footage to a higher staff member.

Once I do get permissions, I would ban the player for hacking.

Glitches - PM to a higher staff member (Explained in detail below)

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -

18+ Profanity or Content - I would start by PMing them to take down the post (via edit) from the thread. If they refuse to reply, I would get a higher staff member to edit the post manually. I would also lock the thread if they fail to comply.

Flaming - I would tell them to stop flaming, and get back on topic. If they do not, I would lock the post.

Off topic - I would start by politely saying to get back on topic. If they fail to get back on topic then I would lock the thread.

Bumping/Gravedigging - I would tell them to not Grave dig and give them an explanation of what bumping/gravedigging is, then I would lock the thread.

Wrong Section - I would either move the thread to the correct section (Not sure if J-mods have the privileges) and then make a post saying that I moved it.

Repeating Questions - If someone repeated the same question, I would send a link to the other thread, then lock the thread.

Resolved Question - I would lock, with a message saying I locked for resolving the issue.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -

Soundboard - I would tell them to turn off the soundboard. If they refuse to, I would then kick/mute them for the required amount of time.

18+ Content/Profanity - I would ask them to stop posting the content, and kick/mute for the amount of time if the continue. (Or the severity of the offense)

Mic Spamming - I would tell them not to mic spam. If they continue I would mute for the appropriate amount of time.

Playing Music - I would tell them to stop, and mute/kick if necessary.

Background Noise - I would tell them to eliminate the noise, or use push-to-talk. If they do not do any of these things, I would give them force push-to-talk.

Recording - If I found someone was recording, I would tell them to delete the recording immediately.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? -

    • As quick as possible, test to see if it is real.
    • Tell everyone that if you abuse the glitch, there may be consequences. I will not say how to do the glitch, and if anyone does I would clear the chat and tell them to stop.
    • I would PM a higher staff member, and if needed I would hop on TS to find someone there.
    • While waiting, I would find the names of everyone that is using the glitch.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - This is my first application.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? - 6/4/2016

Do you have a working microphone? - Yes, I have a built in computer microphone, a Turtle Beach headset with mic, and a Logitech mic.

Are you able to record and upload videos? -Yes, I can record with OBS, and if needed Fraps free (Only if needed, OBS is very good.)

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? - Yes, I don’t know what plugins Brawl has, but this is some generic ones.

/ban [player] [reason] - Bans the player.
/tempban [player] [time] - Bans the player for a specific period of time.
/kick [player] - Kicks a player from the server.
    /mute [player] [reason?] - Mutes a player.
/tempmute [player] [reason] - Mutes a player for a specific amount of time.
/ipban [address] - Bans anyone from that IP to connect.
/v - Makes you invisible (Actual player model, tab, ect)
/poof - Makes you go invisible? Same as /v, not sure if this server has /poof or /v
    /inv [player] - Shows the player's inventory.
    /prune - Clears chat.

Anything else we should know about you? - I have been committed to McPvP, and now Brawl, and I want to keep it that way. I love this server, and it has become part of my life by now. If my forum stats were linked to McPvP, I would have a lot more posts and ratings.
And as a final note, this was typed in Google Docs, and that is why some of the spacing is weird. Sorry.

Please insert a Yes / No poll below.

    Best language so far... blin

Okay, time to grade for staff application, considering like you stated Build doesn't have quite the clean chat, I'm happy to see someone who is willing to step up with authority and put a stop to it .

In-Game: There's no doubt that I've seen you a lot on Wild West, I've also build on Build (duh), and I've seen you there plenty as well. This is easily a good thing I see from you. +1

    Forums:
You do have less than 200 posts which may pose a problem, you have joined the forums about a year ago, meaning you should have at least some experience in this field. I also don't see many post farms and your replies are pretty useful towards the topic of the thread. You are rapidly posting as well which I don't see a problem of. +1

    Teamspeak:
I don't see you on much, and we have just a one hour difference in time zones, but I do see you sometimes. +0

    Activity/Maturity/Helpfulness:
First of all, considering you've gotten to the point of Sheriff on Wild West, I can say that you would have some of these qualities. Also, from looking at your application, I can tell you know the rules well and through, as well as the different ways you can hack, and the different ways you can break rules in chat. For a person my age, I can tell you that I see you as being very mature, and you don't see that often . +1

    Application:
I've already stated that I can see you have the proper experience from your application, I feel that you have answered everything detailed and you have experience, this is also your first application, and you haven't learned from any mistakes in the past from applications, meaning this is your first shot at it, and in my opinion, it's a pretty good one. +1

    Overall:
I think you would make another great young candidate and I wish you good luck. +1

Just gonna keep it sweet and simple:
Every now and then, I hop onto build and see what's up. Almost every time I come on, I see you ingame, often helping others out. Not only this, but I've seen you a bit more frequently on the forums giving input and whatnot. Just try to up your activity on the forums and TS, otherwise, you have my +1.
