    Yes, I'm suggesting resets.

Hear me out before you just immediately spam reply "No", okay?

Before I discuss why I believe resets could be an ideal thing for WildWest, I'll first go ahead and say what I relate WildWest to in some instances; Faction servers (this'll all be tied together on why resets could be an ideal thing for WW). When you think about it, Wild West relates to faction servers in many ways:
    - Teams (even more specifically - big teams that run the server and are considered OP)
    - An economy (most if not all faction servers have an economy / shop where you can buy/sell items at.)

Minus all the role play features (which really don't serve a significance in this situation anyways), it is very similar to faction servers. So, what is the result of playing a faction-like server for a very long period of time? Yea, you get bored.

Most people in pretty much all instances would basically get bored of having this life style of being the most OP players/team on the server (after a long period of time). Mainly because being the most OP player drives you away from what you're supposed to do on the server originally (earning money, avoiding sheriffs, avoiding other strong players, etc.). You ultimately stop doing the things that you originally did that made the game fun and are basically left to doing nothing (mainly because there is no longer a point for you to do so at all due to how OP you are).

Now, I'm not suggesting we do resets every few weeks, I'm mainly suggesting doing them every few months to keep the game fresh.

The reasoning behind this is so that these OP players that seemingly worked very hard for the resources they earned probably won't even mind being reset because of that "being bored" aspect coming into play. They will enjoy having this fresh start and it will keep their interest in the game alive. On top of that, it gives everyone who wants to try the game out an actual chance to play with the same advantage as everyone else thus bringing in more players.

This is in NO means something that is being done, this is only a suggestion that I have proposed and am looking for some input from the WW community to view their outlook on it.

@Mario but what if people buy boosters for WW, then it resets and they loose everything they earned?

You clearly did not read the thread, it's not worth my time responding to this question.

I believe that this perspective is not a good one. I myself play Wild West a LOT, but for an example the #1 player who has 22 DAYS played on WildWest, obviously worked VERY hard to get to the position he has gotten to. I think that resetting it would ruin the server, seeing everyone hated Wild West after the economy change. I think this will just make Wild West worse. Nothing personal, I believe that it can be IMPROVED by upping the prices of Drugs and Lowering the prices of many things.
As "noob" players will process for a couple minutes, then get only about 2k of drugs, as before the economy change, where the server was at least double in server size. And everything was different/better. I believe the idea from this thread is wrong and should NOT be put into process.

The idea seems pretty cool to me, we even have experience with it in Survival PvP, although I think it should be semi-annually. The resets should also be perfect for changing aspects in the map (I think having the same things will be boring, they should be changed a little bit), as well as huge updates that totally change gameplay.

I actually wouldn't mind starting over. Even if I wasn't a sheriff. However, I agree with @TheWubzsters, but how are you going to implement wood harvesting without restarting the game? I guess you can remake the map without restarting stats.
You should realize that sheriffs can take on these advanced, decked out players, but they can still be challenging to sheriffs sometimes.

If you're talking about the MC-War server, it won't happen there, this is in the Wild West section so it only applies to this server.

To put it into perspective, if Wild West were still in it's previous state, it would support my "reset" idea even more, so I do not understand what your proposed argument is.

One thing that you have to realize which I assume you didn't comprehend in the post, is that these resets wouldn't be frequent.

    @Mario

I COMPLETELY agree. (Although I don't play WildWest, or any servers on Brawl that would require a reset, I do have history playing on other servers where resets were used for reaons stated above)

I play pixelmon, and I play it a lot. (Yes pixelmon story here) To make a long story short, there were always those people who had those op pixelmon, then soon everyone had those op pixelmon, and it was just everyone with the same thing against the other people. Resets were used to make it a fresh new start, so people could start over again and face new things.

In WildWest, I'm sure there are those few people who have everything and are considered ultimately unbeatable in most cases. Yes, It's true that people can grow to beat them, then become their own op person, waiting for someone else to do the same. Unless, of course, there is that one OP group that is never taken down, always prevents people from getting even remotely close to being able to pose a threat, the group that has no blind spots. (Is this how it works, im just assuming) Resetting would equally give everyone a new chance to play and have fun again, instead of there being just that one group, that one "Oh brb crying" group.

    Tl;Dr:
Every server needs to reset at one point, be it Factions with the horribly ruined land all around, or Pixelmon with the opop pokemons, or maybe WildWest, with a cycle that doesn't stop once that time comes.

this is STUPID, why would people ever save up money, why would people buy boosters for money, why would people even store stuff if the server resets every month?

I think this would be a great idea, but there are some things that need to happen.

1: Sheriff balancing, because when everyone starts over and doesn't have anything, sheriffs become gods that are (almost) worshipped.

2: New economy. I say “New" as in a new economy nearly like the old one. If diamond and stuff could be obtained easily, but you lose it every few months, I think that would be ok. Adds to sheriff balancing too.

These have already been considered and will be happening in the near future. So they are completely out of context for this scenario

Sounds like it will be more fun again. Starting over again is fun anyways. Other people will have a chance to be op too now. I get what you want mario, but I think a lot of people dont. They just dont want to lose their gear again, they dont really see that it will be fun again.

Starting over sounds good. Some players have gotten too OP... give the others a chance.

Resets would make me want to quit more. I have worked extremely hard for what I have got. The only thing that makes me bored is the lack of good fights... The economy is wrong, we don't need resets!

    Says the Sheriff.

Meh, the reason I'm getting bored is because I'm losing more money than I'm earning. This is mainly because of the high amount of Sheriffs and 'high' priced economy.

No. Players just need to sell stuff easily cause we cant do anything with basical stuff. You must improve a bit sellers in shops like food/armor. Finally if players can sell items in their house with chests (with a sign on) we can improve the player economy!
