I have honestly been thinking about creating a channel on youtube for fun. I've got some spare cash I could out into it every once and a while. I'd probably play Halo, Madden 17, NHL 17, maybe NBA 2k, maybe MLB 16 the show, and most definitely War, CTF and WildWest. I'd make a lot more madden videos than anything else as those really bring in the likes and subs, but that would help boost my views on brawl videos. But, my question is, do you think I've got the right stuff to do it and do you think I should try?

I think if you do, you shouldn't invest too much money into it. Don't get carried away and think "I need sony vegas" or "I need this $100 mic" I think it wouldn't hurt to try, but don't be expecting too much from it

I'm going to do the same thing next year...

Why not? It will challenge your skills as a presenter/entertainer...to develop content etc.

Would definitely help Brawl, it needs more advertisement on YouTube in my opinion.

It doesn't take fancy equipment to make good videos. By this weekend I should have a new video uploaded that I'm making from free software and a mid-level desk microphone, and it'll be a good example of the kind of video quality you can achieve on a budget.

You should totally go for it. Actually doing it will teach you a whole lot, and you learn as you go.

Edit: also, you can experiment with different video formats. Maybe do tutorials, montages, reviews, commentaries, Etc. By learning how to script and put together various things it'll give you a better idea of how to preproduce and get some quality content up.

For the record I absolutely hate montages, they're a pain to make.

How about for the start you make something that you really enjoy first then you build up to make something more advance
I agree with what @MR_EVIL_OVERLORD said. Please try it! :finger:
