But that's the whole problem Nom. The whole reason why we need a progressive movement or a 'political revolution' in America is because we don't have a Democracy anymore, we just have a false choice between thing 1 and thing 2. That fact has never been more clear than in this election cycle where as you imply, both candidates are terrible although Trump may or may not be worse.

I completely agree with you on your statement on real change but how on earth do you come to the conclusion that voting for a candidate who has spent the better part of the last twenty years working with fellow neoliberals (and other DINOs) to destroy the progressives helps the progressives retake the party that was once theirs? Look at the convention, they had Party officials (or volunteers) walk down the aisles and revoking the credentials of almost any Bernie delegates who were holding up anti TPP signs (or other non Party approved things), placing white noise machines around places where delegates were being particularly rowdy, paying non delegates with no credentials to sit in Bernie delegates seats (and not get up so the delegates didn't have anywhere to sit) and place 'RESERVED' signs on other seats to block those off too, moving Bernie delegates to the back of their respective delegations, behind the cheering Hillary people, so they cannot be seen or heard (as was the case with the New York delegation), blocking Sanders delegates from leaving the convention hall (the Oregon delegation was blocked from leaving during Hillary's speech by the Secret Service) and harassing or bullying Bernie delegates for attempting to speak their minds (some delegates were shouted at and told "Go home!"). Wonder why a lot of the boos and the chants and the no-TPP signs were suddenly replaced by cheers and a ridiculous number of Stronger Together, or I'm With Her signs? That's why. Look at the Wikileaks dumps (as you might have already). The Democratic Party and the Clinton campaign do not give a sh*t about the Bernie people outside of getting their votes so they can continue to not give a sh*t about them. Why reward that kind of Orwellian assholery by giving these people everything they want?

As a communist, I got to say I support Bernie. If he had become president, you'd be closer to communism, but still far away by a long shot. Too bad he had a bucket of good ideas but not a single plan on how to execute them, and that was his downfall. But hey, check out Norway: Free health care, a little bit more restriction on firearms, and look. We don't have nearly the same amount of problems as the United States. This might just be about your nature, or the sheer size of your country makes it hard to control, but it's a fact that Norway have a lot less gun violence because we have banned all fully automatic weapons for private use.

Since it'll come down to Hillary versus Donald, I'm going to choose Hillary. I don't like Hillary the slightest, but if Donald is the only alternative... yeah. But anyway, I'm fifteen years old and living in Norway, so I'm not going to vote in this election.

And before I get a lot of hate about being a communist.. the Soviet Union, North Korea, China or any other country that have claimed to be communistic is not, have never, and will never be communist states. That's a big misconception that people have about communism today. It can't be said enough times: True communism is just and idea and have never been executed in real life. Never. And seeing how things are today, it probably won't happen, ever. Lenin's Soviet Union was the closest we got, but he died too early and Stalin ruined things.

So yeah, just my opinion on things.

5 minutes later add-on: This is the first election in the 'States that I've been following, and I was shocked to see that the candidates won more by talking down the others than praising themselves.. I wonder why that is the case?

 

I want to point out that Norway isnt a good example, because well, they have a ****ing lot of oil.

And yuh.. i would call myself a communist 2. I live in finland, a country which is pretty left wing in general (the supid new generations are going to **** things up by voting for right wing parties, but that's an issue which should not be discussed here). And there isn't really a left wing enough party for me in finland... there's a communist party, but their support is at like 0.001%.

Agree. Guns makes it very easy too kill people. Last year 2015 there was almost a shooting with 5+ dead EVERY DAY. Which is terrific. Things like that cannot happen.

The money will basicly not end if everything is well functioning, if the immigration succeds meaning all the people work, for taxes which go to government the money will just increase. Thats basicly what Sweden currently is trying to succed.

Hillary is still better than Donald Trump tbh.

Since I live in Sweden this won't affect me really much. So Idrc if Trump wins or not. The thing is a guy who thinks globalwarming doesn't exists can't just be president of one of the most powerful countries in the world. That can be dangerous to all the world.
