What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -
I've been playing Minecraft since late September of 2011. I played the PC Gamer Minecraft Demo, and I instantly fell in love with the game. I officially bought the game on November 4, 2011.

I know the crafting recipes of most of the blocks and tools. Some of them I may forget. I don't really know a lot about the commands and redstone mechanics. That stuff is a little too smart for me.

Playing on multiplayer servers isn't new to me. I've been playing on servers since 2012. At first, I was reluctant and shy to play with other players, but overtime, I became more comfortable.

I first played on a server that had a capture the flag game that I took a liking to. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the server. The CTF was rather bare-bones because it didn’t have any classes.

I searched the Internet for other CTF servers, and I found MCPVP’s CTF. I liked it a lot more due to its large variety of classes.

To this day, MCPVP’s (now Brawl’s) CTF remains my top favorite game, even if I don’t play it as often as I use to.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
I don't have any experience of moderating a server, unfortunately. Although, I have learned a little bit what it’s like to be a moderator from asking and watching the actions of several moderators here on Brawl.


What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -
I can be helpful and answer questions, which I already do.

When I’m on Wild West, it seems most of the questions come to me. I happily answer them, and I try not to ignore them.

I will respond to any /reports that I can. I personally don’t trust /report, because most of the time I use it, it gets ignored, and the rule breaker continues doing what they are doing. I could always record and upload what’s happening but that takes time. Also, a submitted report isn’t resolved immediately.

When a Mod isn’t around, sometimes flame and inappropriate chat happens, and I can’t tell them to stop because that’s considered “mini-modding”. Like what I mentioned above, I could always do /chatreport, but submitted reports aren’t immediately resolved.


Have you ever used a hacked client before? -
No, never.


Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? –
I was banned back in MCPVP, but it was a false ban due to a glitch.

It was in CTF when the Elf class was added. I decided to test it during a free class Friday. The Elf class wasn’t yet recognized by the auto-ban system, and I was banned for hacking. It wasn’t a simple 12 hour ban. It was a full on perma-ban.

As you can guess, I wasn’t the only victim. The glitch was fixed, and everyone who was banned due to it was un-banned.

Other than that, I have a squeaky-clean record.


What do you consider your greatest strength? –
I am kind, and willing to help others if I can. I don’t like being mean, and can tolerate someone who won’t stop asking questions, like a courteous child would.

I don’t swear. Not even in private. My language is very PG. I can tolerate swearing to an extent, but if it gets too excessive, I’ll ask the person to tone it down.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? –
I’m quite a shy person, and a man of few words. I’m not the kind of person who starts conversations.

I not really a patient person, I usually get angry and frustrated when something really annoying happens, such as dying a lot in-game. Fortunately, I don’t complain about it in chat.

I tend to procrastinate on things, but I do what needs to get done eventually. However, if the task requires immediate attention, I don’t sit around. I get it done.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? –

In-game, I consider myself very active. I play every day. However, my hours are irregular, but I usually logon in the afternoon to evening time frame.

On the forums, I’m on almost all the time. I respond to alerts as soon as I see them. I always look at the recent threads on the home page

On TeamSpeak, I’m at least logged on to it when I’m at my desk. If I see a channel of my interest that has familiar names in it, I might put on my headset and hop onto the channel.

On Slack, I’m on virtually all the time, even more than the forums. I even have the Slack app on my phone and iPad. I always try to respond or look at messages that pop up.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on? –
I am most active on Wild West, CTF, War, and Raid.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? –
Like I said above, my hours are irregular, but I am on during the afternoon to evening time frame.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? –
Spamming: 1st time – Warning. 2nd time – Final warning. 3rd – 10 min mute. Any continuous violating after the first mute will result in an increased mute time.


Flame/Disrespect: 1st time – Warning. 2nd time – Final warning. 3rd – 10 min mute. Any continuous violating after the first will result in an increased mute time.


18+/Shocking Links: Clear chat, mute for 1 hour, and report to higher ups.


Death Wishes: Mute for 1 hour.


DDoS/Death Threats: Kick for 1 hour and report to higher ups


Bypassing Chat Filter: 1st time – Warning. 2nd time – Final warning. 3rd – 10 min mute. Any continuous violating will result in an increased mute time.


Advertising: 1st time - Clear chat and warn the offender. 2nd time – Same as before, but final warning. 3rd time – Mute for an hour and report to higher ups.


Hacking: 1 hour kick and report to higher ups.


What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? –
Flame/Disrespect: 1st time - Warn the users. 2nd time – Final warning. 3rd time – Lock the thread and report to higher ups.


Grave Digging: Warn the user and lock the thread.


18+/Shocking: Report to higher ups.


Advertising: Warn the user and report to higher ups.


Going Off-Topic: 1st time - Warn the users. 2nd time – Final warning. 3rd time – Lock the thread and report to higher ups.


Spam: 1st time - Warn the users and lock if it’s a spam thread. 2nd time – Same as before but Final warning. 3rd time – Lock the thread and report to higher ups.

Flame/Disrespect/Loud: 1st time - Warn the users. 2nd time – Final warning. 3rd time – Mute

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? –

First, I would ask those who told me to tell me how it is performed. Then, I would report it any available higher ups.

Then, I would tell players there is a game-breaking economy glitch, and that anyone who performs it will be punished severely.

If I see anyone performing it or if I’m told there is someone performing it, I will record them, kick them for an hour, and report the video to higher ups.

/kick – Kicks the player from the server (up to an hour).


/mute – Stops the player from engaging in chat (up to an hour).


/unmute – Allows a muted player to reengage in chat.


/fp [map]_gamemode - Changes the map and gamemode (only on Mc-War and only for bug testing).


/prune – Clears chat.


Anything else we should know about you? –
I’m not really an interesting person. I don’t play sports, go to clubs, or anything like that. I go to church every Sunday, and I’m very strong in my Christian beliefs. I also sing in my church’s choir.

Please don’t ask me to sing in the next Brawl Karaoke. Even though I have sung a few solos in my church, I’m not really an open singer.
