Book Capture the Flag: Civil War - Chapter 1

It's been a month since The CTF Company was bought by The Brawl Network. So far, everything hasn't burned down, so yay for that, but some changes made have definitely spiked some controversy. First off, CTFers complained about the new rule list, then they complained about how the Ninja swords started having Sharpness 4 instead of Sharpness 6, and then they complained about the fact that Elf had been made even harder to use. But probably the most controversial thing has to be banners replacing wool. I won't go into detail about the situation, just so no one gets mad at me, but just between me and you, wool is way better.


It was a normal day so far, I had just got back from running some errands around East Depsor, when I received a phone call. "Gosh, who phones someone at 8 o'clock in the morning?" I told myself as I took my dTab out of my pocket.


"Hi! Jay Depsworth, Delsoria Network." I said, answering the phone.


"Hello, Depli. This is Nom. Could I meet you at my office in the Brawl HQ at 1PM?" Welp, that answered my question as to who would call someone at 8AM.


"Sure. I'll be there."


"Alright then. Goodbye."


The call ended. "Well that was weird." I said to no one in particular. Who would've known that I was gonna get to meet a member of Brawl's Administration Team?

Lunch time had arrived. I ate it up quickly, before flying to Brawl's HQ, in Captron. There, I headed up to Nom's office, knocking on the door.


"Come in." I could barely hear over the music playing.


I opened the door, and walked in. "Welcome to the Brawl HQ, Depli." Nom greeted.


"Heyo." I replied, whilst using my telekinesis to turn the music down so that it's nearly silent. "So why am I here?"


"I need you to go to the residence of a person that goes by the name of Robin Unifier, and I need you to show him these blueprints for a new CTF map that we're planning on building in Uniland."


"Why don't you just go?"


"I have to fix a bug in Beaver Creek's C-Star system, so I won't be able to."


"Whatever you say, buddy." And with that, I took the blueprints and I flew across the Sea of Uniland.

Once I got to Robin's, I knocked on the door. That day had seemed to be full of doors. The door opened and, not really much to my surprise, it was Bronte.


"Depli! Come in!" She welcomed in her usual good mood.


"Thanks. Is Uni home?" I asked.


"Nope. He's in a meeting. He should come back in about half an hour."


"The sooner the better. For once in my life, I'm actually doing something important that's not for the Delsoria Network." I would've started rambling on about random stuff, but Bronte interrupted me before I could.


"Tea or coffee?" She asked.


"Tea, please." I responded, sitting down on the sofa and putting the file containing the blueprints onto the coffee table.


I started reading the blueprints out of curiosity. After about a minute, I realized how that map wouldn't work very well. "Oh well, the map choice is final." I muttered to myself.

About 5 hours later, we heard a knock on the door. Bronte went to open it, and it was Robin.


“Uni! How are ya mate!” I greeted.


“Good. What brings you here?”


I used telekinesis to lift up the files whilst I drank the last bit of my tea. “Nom told me to deliver these to you. They’re blueprints for a new map that The CTF Company wants to build in Uniland.”


Robin picked up the files, and began reading them. “This map is gonna be a disaster.” He said.


“That’s what I said to myself when I first read them. So is it a yes or a no?”


“Whilst I would be honoured to host a CTF map in Uniland, the quality of this map dictates that I decline.”


“Alrighty then. I’ll just take the files back to Nom and tell him that he has to build it somewhere else.” I said, getting up off the sofa. “It was very nice seeing you two, but unfortunately I have a meeting in 10 minutes and I need to get these files back to Nom, then make it to Depsor all in that time.”


“Goodbye. See you soon.” Robin said, followed by Bronte saying “Bye! Come again!” And with that, I opened the door and flew back to Capture as top speed.
