Help Needed

It depends on what MC server you are looking for... Creative server- latest version, Pvp server-1.7.
All you need to do is a few fights in 1.7 and 1.8 to see which you prefere to pvp in.

This is a raid/pvp server and most of the people who want the server to be a version past 1.7 also really dont like to be raided and dont often pvp. The server will never really suit them no matter what version it is.

 

HAHHA ofc it will help, raid is a pvp server, most of the minecraft community is pvpers, all pvpers play on 1.7 there is no debate

 

We're talking about what we 'need' to do to save Raid. Not what the last few select of us 'want'. Towards the end of 1.7 and 1.8 (last map) the server was starting to die down quickly. Why? Because as Minecraft updates the world of MC players move onto the next version. It's not the matter of which version we believe is better. It's the matter of which one's up to date and which one's getting the most attention. If the most popular servers are all hosting 1.7 versions with the most popularity held there, then so be it. But I'm sure they've implementing change into their servers as well. We had a huge spike in players when we changed maps. But we're still running a 1.8 style server. People see that it's outdated and lose interest. They move on and here we are; the few of us.
I'm not saying that the version is our prime suspect in the decline of players. School of course is an effect. But the decline in players usually isn't this noticeable. Server advertising by a YouTuber could work. But as soon as they stop playing, so would everyone else. Voting rewards being implemented again sounds like a great idea since it gains recognition. I'm sure none of you (including myself) are doing it out of kindness. A further /random would be nice for the newer players (past 1,000 blocks) and tips in the chat for new players could also help. A new spawn if that's what people really want (I'm not saying anything here... it'd be bias c. The objective is to get players to come and stay. Maybe we could figure out how to get players here and then worry about the 'stay' part. Maybe nicely ask current new players how they're finding Raid and go from there?

Players are fast to quit lame servers.
If the servers is set to 1.7 and made compatible with later versions it would allow the players using >1.7 to join, then on the info wall it can be explained to them why it's 1.7.
I am not an expert on Minecraft servers but I don't know any pvp/hcteam/faction server that isn't 1.7 or 1.8.

BTW the "select few" were the daily players who kept the player count alive during the last map.

 

dumb. No, the wrold doesn't "move on", pvp servers will always be on 1.7. Have you seen the difference of players from the 1.7 map and 1.8 map?????? 1.7 will always be pvp, no matter what........

 

god, no It isn't many, soup is pretty much dead over the whole pvp community, and if u do spvp 1.7 again it would get TON of players because there is still many people that like to play soup, (pvpers). 1.10 would just kill the server instantly..

 

No it won't because your not going to be getting new players in, you will have people joining who have plsyrd other things and will immediately leave. Your more likely to get new players if you have it 1.10 because most players play 1.10. You can also make 1.10 PvP 1.8 pvp if you are that fussed ahout PvP.

Have no Idea what u meant with ur first sentence. But you will get new players in. All the noobs play 1.10, and raid is a pvp server not a noob server. ALL the pvpers play 1.7, and there is nothing to discuss about that. There already many 1.10 servers like hypixel and **** that are much more noob friendly then brawl.

 

Can I use this quote in my outro for brawl?
If Raid is supposed to be a vanilla survival server use 1.10.
If Raid is a pvp/raiding server use 1.7.
As I have said before and even in this thread there have been comments proving my point that the people who want 1.10 don't like to pvp/don't like getting raided (as in they rage quit).
If the server is going to be 1.10 I suggest removing tracking and allow people to warp from inside spawn and advertise it as a survival/economy server.
Saying you can change the combat system in 1.10 is also pointless as it will never be as smooth as 1.7.
You can allow later versions to join 1.7 servers. (Just explain on an info wall that the server is 1.7 and that players should switch to 1.7 for a better experience)

 

Again. Read why we can't switch to 1.7. And 1.7 isn't going to bring more people back. It was, as I already said, starting to die when we tried to stay with it. Your argument is bias.

 

Yes, there is a way, if the whole network would downgrade to 1.7 it would be possible.

No it hasn't been "just as popular". The server is not going to downgrade to 1.7 just because some guy with a huge ego wants it to. Putty has stated about 50 times that raid will not go back to 1.7. Stop moaning just because you won't get your way. If raid wants to stay alive it will need to get players in, an easy way to start doing that is to make it more noob friendly and update it to 1.10. Think about the benefits of the server, not yourself

 

Hahahahah, I don't. My friend, I only wan't the best of brawl. I can see how much potential this server has and it is making me sad it does the wrong decisions. And the majority of the raid community wan't 1.7, so not "just a guy with ego" wan't it. It won't get any benefits by updating to 1.10 believe me.

 

^ Because holding back from updates has really been benefiting us. Watching our player count skyrocket for the past few years.

 

For the past few years? the playerbase was good until the server got updated to 1.8.

 

The server has been declining since the arrival of 1.8 (even when we were in 1.7). We've been slow to update since people don't like change.

 

Boi. You realise how big playerbase the server will actually get if it downgrades to 1.7??
