    Hey Brawl.

I've been gone for a long time now. I've watched the community deteriorate from the outside.
In-case you all didn't know, I'm Australian. I've been heavily playing in an Australian Arma-3 Community that is honestly one of the most free of hackers, least toxic communities that I've ever been in.

There's a few things that they do to make this possible

    1. They have a ZERO tolerance for hackers/ddos talk/hack talk.
    - If hacks/ddos anything against the rules is mentioned in the forums/TeamSpeak, the person gets Punished.
    2. they have a Dedicated Forum Moderation team.
    - These people have no in game power, they just keep the forums clean, and do their job very well. They clean up negative and non constructive posts and make sure threads remain on track and non malicious.
    3. THEY HAVE A HELP DESK
    - This is THE smoking gun. A helpdesk. A dedicated set of teamspeak channels where if someone has an issue with a hacker/other player, they can go up there and talk to a HELP DESK STAFF. Not a moderator, not an admin. a helpdesk staff. They have no ingame power, however they have teamspeak drag powers and they are able to EASILY get a hold of a staff member. The player joins the helpdesk and talks to a helpdesk member, the helpdesk member files a report using google forms to record the issue and then advice is given/players are punished etc. There are different teirs of helpdesk staff. The first responders (Support team), The people who make sure everyone is happy and doing their job well (Senior Support) and the people who actually hand out punishments in game if necessary (Moderators/Administrators)
    EXAMPLE OF A HELPDESK https://gyazo.com/5d076c27828f360dee9c090dbb85f216

Simply having caring, empathetic and trustworthy people on standby would make SUCH a difference.

Without trying to jump to conclusions or anything, and I know I haven't been here for a long time. Brawl from what I can see has an un willingness to change. Maybe taking a few risks and trying out something completely new could be the "Miracle" that everyone is talking about.

At the end of the day, please remember to take my opinion with a grain of salt. This is just my two cents, I ask that everyone please keep this thread to discussion and not argue over every little thing.

    Thanks guys

    - Nick (Peroxid3)

Although these are great ideas, I just couldn't see some of them working. The zero tolerance for talk of hacking and DDoS would be hard, but I do like the help desk and forum moderator team.
You pretty much stated what could pass for the forum moderation team and help desk, both of which I really like, and I believe could definitely help WarZ and Brawl as a whole. As for issues pertaining to what player talk about, I just couldn't see this working. The community is so accustomed to the current set of rules, and still they don't abide, even with harsh 7+ day bans.

I very, very much disagree. Just say that talk of hackers in a malicious manner is bannable. I'm 99% sure he didn't mean that if anyone even utters the word "hacker" they get permanent bans on all their accounts or anything. I meant that talking about hacking, talking about using hackers, or making hacks is a bannable offense. Same rules apply for DDoS.

I do see where you're coming from, and I do agree with the no tolerance of DDoS talk. But players would say they were "joking" about wanting to hack, and would cause a big stir about it. While it could be enforced and it may do good for the community, I personally feel like it wouldn't be worth the uproar that the person and maybe his friends would cause.

I sent a personal message to Chickenputty inviting him to join me in a Day in a life of the helpdesk in the community I play with now, and It might give him a few ideas on how it could work.

For zero tolerance, I don't mean something such as "Someone is hacking help". I mean stuff like "haha, just used my forcefield on you kid". The fact that a thread was allowed to continue where people were talking about their favourite hacks completely astounds me, that would be shut down SO QUICK anywhere else.

This thread is very mature and cuts to the point. I'm impressed, especially coming from a WarZ player. Because of this, I believe it will be taken much more seriously than some other WarZ threads full of insults, accusations and that are overall toxic. My favorite idea is having a Help Desk with specific Help Desk staff. I think this could really help.

I can tell you from first hand experience, being a helpdesk staff for an EXTREMELY popular Australian server, the difference is incredible. The server would be so toxic and horrible without it.

That's why if you implement it people wouldn't "joke" about it cause they would get punished.
