One year ago Friday night, tropical storm Patricia was spinning in the far east Pacific ocean. The tropical storm was forcasted to become a category one hurricane and make landfall in Mexico as a low end category 1 2 days later. However, 1 year ago Saturday, Patricia had exploded into a 215 MPH category 5 hurricane. In terms of winds, it became the strongest storm record on this planet ever, aside from tornadoes, of course. Now, hurricane Seymour is repeating Patricia.

While it is not forcaasted to become a massive category 5 hurricane, nor was Patricia. Hurricane Seymour, fortunently, is much further away from the cost than Patricia. The hurricane is expected to peak late Tuesday into Wedsneday, then curl north to California. Before even getting close, it will designate due to much higher wind shear, cooler waters and a dryer atmosphere. It should not have any impacts in Mexico, but it should impact California. The remnants of Hurricane Seymour, I.E. clouds & moisture, will bellow into California at the same time a power northern pacific storm hits the region. This is a set-up for heavy rains, high elevation snow, and flash flooding, especially in and around Los Angeles as, aside form today, it hasn't rained sine May 5th, over 280 days of sunshine!

Rain should begin to impact California Thursday morning or afternoon. Totals could be up to 4 inches in the storm.

Check in when nature decides to act up, because I might write another post about it!

Just had a torrential downpour yesterday. It was an electrical storm. Vicious, but short-lived. It reminded me of a short version of the crazy storms Arizona gets during monsoon season.

@randomcitizen1 Well, your lucky. I watched as the line of showers missed my house by 1/4 of a mile. I know alot of people got hit with thunder though.
