Helping them to not break the rules by making them aware what they have done is a good thing

Any changes to the /chat-reporting system with this new feature?

No. Staff members will just be able to give warnings from reports rather than punishments.

With enough warnings, will JMods actually be banning players?

Anyway, this new system will be excellent. It will scare some players into straightening up. Although, players who have been banned from the forums will not be afraid of it, because this is similar to the forums system.

How long after a warning, can another warning be issued? So lets say someone gets warned for OOM on War - How long after that warning can another warning be issued, and is there something in place to prevent 2 staff members warning at the same time/quick succession.

A player who has been warned can not receive another warning for 2 minutes.

Haven't skimmed through this entire thread, but will we be notified if we have been warned/muted in chat?

When that happens, it's usually from chat reports or your offense was so severe, it didn't require a warning.

The disagreements I have with a "warning" system aside (if someone is threatening DDoS, posting porn, or threatening others with violence/death why should they even get one "warning" instead of an immediate punishment?) why is the ban for potentially threatening Brawl's revenues 10x harsher than the ban for illegal behavior such as DDoS, DoX, and death threats? I don't see how people who do this stuff are going to get the message that it's not OK to attack people online, and expose themselves to lawsuits in the process, when the punishments for it are as light as they are. In fact let's take it a step further: why are DDoS'ers, DoXx'ers and the like not immediately permabanned?

They aren't warned. The immediate punishment for threats, nsfw links, advertising, and ridealong are all instant punishments. They are just handled through /warn in order to make the next punishments escalating in length.

If a player is found to actually DDoS, DoX, swat, etc and its not a threat, they are permanently banned from Brawl (we do this already).

That wasn't clear when I read Roke's post but I must have misread it.

I wanted to reemphasize this ^^ because I don't see why the punishments (listed in the OP) aren't much harsher than the ones listed. Unless I'm mistaken and they already are?

    Good to know. Thanks.

This is because DDoS, DoX, swat threats are, as it says in the name, threats - Although they shouldn't be, such threats can often be used as throw away comments in the heat of the argument and 99% don't actually lead to anyone doing anything. It is due to the fact that it is a threat, that it is handled in this way.

You will see that regarding DDoS threats etc - No warning is used and punishment is used on a first offence, starting in a 7 day ban and then escalating following serial offences:

As shown in the above image & the original post, this form of Rule Break has the most severe punishment ladder.

Regarding someone actually found & proven to of carried out an attack:

Whether or not threats lead to anything or if they're thrown out in "the heat of the moment" doesn't make them any more acceptable than actual attacks, as would be the case with death threats. I was not suggesting that threats be treated in the same way as actual actions in my prior posts, only that offenders be punished more harshly.

7 day ban, 14 day ban, 30 day ban seems harsh enough for me.

Alright, already posted here but if you can get 7 day banned for saying death threats, that needs to be changed. Death threats have a microscopic chance of actually being carried out, and if a person is seriously that deranged a ban for that statement will probably make them want to kill the person even more than before.
