Tips on recording

Task Manager -> Set high priority to your recording software or game

Lower settings = more fps

Disable anti-aliasing and any kind of useless particles (unless you need them)

Update graphics card drivers

Don't record audio unless you really need it

Set max fps in your recording software to 60, not any higher

Bind Alt+F4 to start recording

Deleting system 32 increases performance as well

 

Depends what programs you use to record. If you have Windows 10, use WindowsKey+Alt+F to get free and high-quality, low file-size recordings.
Fraps is meh, HUGE filesizes and bad quality.
Mirillis Action crashes my game every time I start it.

 

I would recommend OBS studio.

 

If you have a nvidia graphics card then I would highly recommend shadowplay. It records good quality, and has an instant replay capture that can get a clip of the last 15 minutes prior to pressing the key.
Other than that I like bandicam because it can ouput at 120 FPS. Just try the trial versions of a bunch of softwares and see which works better for your computer.

 

I got great video with fraps, although recording good quality can be a strain on your computer. Large file sizes are entirely unavoidable with a program that will record high quality video, unless it devotes unnecessary time to compressing the video as it records, which will likely result in lower fps or resolution.

 

Use OBS if you have an NVIDIA/AMD dedicated GPU and select use NVIDIA NVENC in the settings or AMD VCE (basically going to utilize the part of the card that ShadowPlay/Raptr uses).

If you don't have one, recording will be a pain, especially on Minecraft.

Don't use the Windows DVR app or whatever, it sucks.

 

If you have a PC i would use Frapps, if you have a mac, i personally use Quicktime.

 

Tip: if you are hacking crop out the top of your screen with the list of hacks so we will have no idea.
