The Use of VPNs

I was going to mention this, players like Dolphin who are located in Australia have to go through the pain of high latency. And with wtfast the get lower latency which results in a easier and much more fun time playing.

 

i understand where you are coming from, although this is a large scaled argument and needs to be dealt with in a fair way, i personally play on brawl with WTFast, and without it, a lot of players are done for. I literally need it to keep playing on brawl otherwise i just can't play at all and i know that a lot of others would feels the same way.

 

If they did ban VPNs.. Brawl would be making no money.. That's a reason they won't be banning VPNs anytime soon

 

There are other reasons players use a vpn aside from hacking. As @Dolphon said, he would basically be at an unplayable connection if it weren't for WTFast. He is not the only one that uses VPNs for reasons other than hacking which is why the ban of VPNs wont be happening in Brawl's near future. (Opinion, not fact)

 

Striker, I feel that nothing will happen even if you try because I have tried before. I feel that it's more important to kill all the hackers because isn't there another way to reduce lag instead of using a vpn(wtfast). Rather take away multiple hackers than a few players,in this instance 2?, honestly.

 

How can I even disable VPN's?

 

And where can i find that?

 

VPN's aren't good for the warz community, they are mainly used for banned players to play on alts.

 

No point in trying my dude. Whilst I was mod I tried to get this to happen but it won't because Poaches who doesn't even play anymore still uses a VPN when he connects to brawl so the entire server has to deal with alt accounts and hackers because of that. I do love the owner at brawl, really looks out for the community over his close friends.

 

The developers can implement a whitelist feature to allow staff to continue using VPNs.

The best way they can do it is by only allowing IP ranges from well known ISPs like Verizon, AT&T, etc..
If the Brawl devs are interested, I have an Anti VPN plugin from when I owned an HCF server. You guys can decompile it and see how it was made.

If I'm not mistaken, there are already multiple servers from different VPNs that are banned. When I was alting and using VPNs after I got IP banned, it became increasingly harder to find a VPN with a non-banned server and good ping.

I can't decide on this. I want to ban them to prevent people from doing what I did, yet I also want people to have protection when they feel they could be DDoSed.

 

No Nono the people who are being ddosed could just put firewall this the victims could read a book if ddosed

Wait everyone I don't think Brawl should ban them it should just reject them from joining and display a screen that says something like " cannot join, please disable VPN in order to connect" or something like that

I want em rejected from joining in but there would be less players on

 

Rejected and banned are pretty much the same thing....

 

What I meant by rejected is they can't join in without disabling the vpn they are using

 

THATS THE SAME AS BANNING THEM
