    Besides being a way of saying, "Hey, I like you." what is the purpose of following someone here on the forums? You don't get an alert when a message is posted on their page. Maybe you should, or not.

    If this happens I'm gonna unfollow everyone I don't want to wake up and have 50 alerts and almost 90% of that is irrelevant to me. Besides, I already have @UraniumTheGoat posting almost daily on my profile, at least that's relevant

    https://www.brawl.com/account/news-feed shows you everything your followers have done recently. Other then that following is pretty much just a sign of respect / I like you, sometimes a statistic, sometimes a bragging right if high up people follow you.

    I follow people because they've done something I feel is worth respecting. To me, since only I can choose who I want to follow, I want being followed to mean you're doing something worth being followed for. I'm choosing to follow someone worth following (kind of like a leader). Idk if other people feel that way, but it was the same with me and mod ratings too.

    I guess you do receive alerts on those you follow. You just have to find them.

    Really good question Gehenna. At the beginning of my forum activity I didn't find a reason to follow people, as I realized it's more or less just a competetive thing, like you follow me I say thanks and follow you as well. I don't want to support this system. Nevertheless I appreciate people who follow me, even if I am not following them; it shows me that they value me/my work.
    I have thought about following some people I respect, but it's kinda hard to start with, if you haven't followed somebody ever. Moreover I don't want to leave somebody out, who could be sad I am not following him. Therefore I don't follow anybody.

    I usually follow people because I want to know what they are doing so that I can uh stalk them

    I only really follow close friends, regardless of their activity, a follow from me basically is saying, "hey I think you're the ****"

    Most of the people I follow, I look up to and following them is just an expression of that respect.

    Others, I just want to see what they post :^).

    Generally they're people who I look up to and want to remember. If Brawl's still around in 5 years and I'm still playing, lots of people who I've followed probably will have quit by then and I wouldn't want to forget about them.
