Event Idea: Convoy

Similar to @Trogy, @ChicknSlayr, and @Chilled_67's Opium Wars, except mobile. Four staff members are geared in gear similar to what is worn for Opium Wars. They are riding horses filled with armor and illegal weapons, as are their inventories. One of the staff members will be carrying a special unique item. The staff member carrying it will not be announced.

Their objective is to ride from the Shaniko train station along the track all the way to the Frisco train station. Whoever kills them gets the loot, and the player who kills a staff member carrying the special item is awarded 150k. The staff members must stay within view range or on the train tracks between Frisco and Shaniko. Their ultimate objective is to protect the staff member carrying the special item. If the carrier falls, the staff members can stop their convoy and recover the item, then continue on. If the staff member's horses die, they can call new ones. If a staff member dies, they are out for the remainder of the event.

Rules:

Sheriffs cannot participate.

The player in possession of the special item at then end of the event will be awarded 150k.

Staff members cannot deviate from the train track area. Limit is view range.

Staff members only have one life.

 

There's overall no use for the gear they could potentially earn from the engagement. Plus they can sneak in and cuff players legitemately participating in the event, effectively ruining their fun. Plus if the special item is dropped, a player picks it up, and that player is subsequentially cuffed by a sheriff, there is no way of knowing who the winner will be.

Plus, you get sheriffs like @PatrykSzczescie (yes, you are being called out, deal with it) who don't give a damn about any player other than themselves, and will repeatedly use handcuffs and ruin the PvP aspect of the event, and make it unappealing to players.

And yes I mean player render distance. A moderator can referee/supervise if needed, but the staff members should be able to stick to their guns and follow the route.

 

I said sheriffs can't participate. Through that, I meant they can't participate as sheriffs. They can be demoted for the duration of the event, and repromoted after.

Custom horses is a yes. Not too fast and armored.

The theme of the item is that, once it is stolen by the player, they must protect it for the duration of the event. If this ends with bandits killing each other, then that's actually good in my opinion. If everyone wants the item for the reward, then that would remove any possibility for massively bandit teams just utterly destroying the convoy.

There are plenty such sheriffs. I'm not discussing event wise, and I'm sure that the sheriffs who do this regularly were not present at the event.

Sure. This event was designed to be versatile, and can be used with a number of different objectives.

 

That still doesn't make any sense. If you're going to allow sheriffs to participate as sheriffs, why would you limit their ability to fight by removing the handcuffs many of them so dearly enjoy? Better to just remove them from the event completely, and make it a bandit focused event.

Sheriffs can always be demoted temporarily for the duration of the event, as prescribed in a prior post.

 

This is just an idea, not a planned event. It is liked by the staff team though, and hopefully it can get pushed forward to Dasky.
