So, bit of a rant. As we supposedly have been told, Totom3 has resigned.
Apparently, he seems to think War 2.0 is finished, and if he thinks that then I would agree with him in a way, as he is the coder for War 2.0 and he took on a task that only a few others have done. He's left us closer than we've ever been to getting 2.0, and we need to thank him for that. I'm presuming staff think otherwise about the final product of 2.0 however, as it isn't yet released.
Now, I understand that there will be bugs and there are no Devs available to fix them as of current due to them working on a 'secret' project, but anything obviously game-breaking would most likely been patched by now. We also seem to have been left in the dark now - there a no open testing sessions anymore.
I respect staff decisions, but we've been waiting so long and we are so close. Hope was keeping War alive, but that has shattered into a few remaining players when Totom resigned. If War 2.0 is released now, War will make a quick recovery. 3 or 4 months from now, it will take 9 months or so to get a average player count of 20 online throughtout the day.
Despite the Devs being busy, I do THINK (I don't have first-hand experience, sorry to Devs if this sounds as if I think you don't try, it's the complete opposite) that a Dev could be possibly spared if there were any extremely overwhelming issues with the Beta until patched. I just personally feel ignoring War because Totom resigned until the 'secret project' is finished will be far too late. I think the community would rather have a glitchy, almost completed 2.0 then none at all.

Any opinions would be appreciated, and sorry if it's a bit short, shocking phone I'm on :v

So far we have just had 1-3 hours long test sessions, and there are usually bugs that occur after a longer uptime, and the reason why we haven't had any testing sessions is because the bugs that will be found during the testing sessions have either been fixed already or cannot be fixed until we hire another developer. I guess we could have testing sessions anyways, though.

And releasing a gamemode without being able to constantly update it and patch bugs will fast kill the game and will be just like war is right now a few months in, not very popular and it will have a lot of bugs that's never getting fixed.

I completely get what you're saying, but it's been 2 or 3 months since there's been a public session as far as I'm aware, we should be having at least 2 a month IMO.

Release it in beta with a message saying "if there are bugs, remember it is in beta and (something about how they can't be fixed currently)." Therefore if players complain, we can say we warned them

We can't really release a gamemode without a dev to fix bugs. Saying this, there are 2 real Options. Either:

    • Wait until we get another developer working on 2.0, so bugs can be fixed right away and everyone can have the best experience

    • Or we can release 2.0 right this second, have no developer to fix anything, waste hundreds of hours of coding time and money, and a disappointed community, along with a dead game.
I know what I would choose, and I think everyone else would go with option 1.

Thank you for putting it so blatantly, so that everyone can understand it without looking further into it.

I think it would definitely be more worth while just getting it all done and fixing all the bugs before the first release.
This would make it far more exciting considering it wouldn't crash within first 10 minutes of release.

problem is it seems brawls host got ****tier and no server can handle over 30 players... so if war 2.0 comes out make sure theres no lag! even if it means testing with bots.

But reading what Realmed said above, you could constantly broadcast that there are bugs. I also suggested in the poll that you could release it but keep War until it is fully complete. You have a point though.
