She could've also been in emotional pain, not just physical, because she might've been thinking she's going to die, and her kids are going to be left with her violent, alcoholic husband. Jesus might've given her hope.
Jesus was right. We all turned out fine. My grandfather is sober and has been for many years.

When in doubt swear out, right? I think Gehenna should know more about his grandma's condition than you and the medicine she was on.

You seem to have missed what I was saying. Your "explanations" are quite flimsy and they make you look rather desperate when coming up with these points. That's all...

Curse words were invented for a reason, they are the "spices" of our language, they help emphasize and illustrate points. I believe that her pain relievers most likely caused it.

Here's something else I want to share. I want to tell you about my great-grandmother, the mother of the grandmother that died of cancer.
She was quite a stubborn old woman, constantly moving to various locations, and being married five times. She had poor taste in men. I loved her anyway. Anyway, she use to live in Georgia for a while. One day, we were riding down the road thinking about her, and we were considering writing her letter. Well, it turns out, she moved back up to North Carolina without telling any of us, and when we were thinking about writing her a letter, we were riding down the very road she was living on at the time.
When she was in the hospital on her deathbed, my mom called her sister. Just before she received the call, my aunt was sitting in her living room thinking about my great-grandmother.
Honestly, how do you explain that? You start thinking about a person and didn't know that person was near you. Also, you are thinking about a person and suddenly you receive a call saying that person is dying.

Hallucinating on morphine (or other painkillers) is nothing new and quite common @enderdragon3615. All I did was suggest that it could be a possibility. Nothing desperate and not an "explanation".

I use curse words all the time for this reason. People always take it the wrong way.

Swearing is unprofessional, and in most work places, it can get you into trouble, especially if you're using strong swear words like the f word and s word.

I guess reincarnation does exist in atheism. Your body turns to dust, and your molecules become something else. That is, if your molecules can escape that tight box your in. Otherwise, you become the walls of the casket. Sounds depressing.

It's not so much reincarnation as it is the realization that our bodies return to the earth to feed and allow plants to grow.

( not sure if you understand decomposition but the boxes decompose too m8. Just takes a while. Beyond that molecules are Hella small).

That and the knowledge that every single heavy element used to make up our bodies was forged inside of stars, which means that we are all literally made of starstuff.

As for your grandmother, I'm sure she saw what she wanted to see. I'd be more impressed if every single person who was dying, morphine or no, all saw the exact same thing and could report it independent of one another or their religions.

I'm also sure that your grandmother was deeply religious. It's really true about that whole 'seek and you shall find' bit; if you honestly and truly believe something beyond the shadow of a doubt you'll see it everywhere. It's the same for conspiracy theorists and religions alike.

I'm sorry for your loss, Gehenna.

    ..................

didnt know we were at work here

its either a coincidence, something small that triggered your thinking of her, or youre making it up

so then tell us the specific medication she was on... if you only know she had breast cancer and died from it your guess is as good as mine as to the circumstances of her death

It seems to be a phenomenon that happens to people on their deathbed. People seem to see things before they die like lost family members or even God and angels. You may think it's just a result of the mind dying. I think there's something more to that.

Thanks. I wish I got to know her.
I can't think of a reason how that happened without giving God credit.
I don't believe in coincidences. Everything happens for a reason. As Albert Einstein once said, "Coincidence is God's way of staying anonymous." Of course, I don't believe God wants to be anonymous. He wants to be noticed.
I wouldn't and shouldn't make such things up.

Again, God doesn't make bad things happen. He lets bad things happen. I believe good things always come out of tragedies and atrocities.

I think it helps to preface the discussion with objectives or mutual goals.

To some degree everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

That was established informally in the private thread. The end goal here wasn't to bully people into changing faiths, it was to make everyone think a little harder about why they believe what they believe.

At any rate, this is still a Minecraft forum, and I didn't expect huge amounts of philosophy or whatever. I was basically bored and noticed there was a religion thing on Gehenna's profile, and it just went from there.

God works in mysterious ways. There is a good reason why God doesn't just heal everyone instantly. We mere humans can't understand everything God does, though it's always for a good and just reason. As I already said, "I believe good things always come out of tragedies and atrocities."

Perhaps your grandmother's death was used to build someone up, give them strength and motivation. Perhaps she showed inspiration during her fight against cancer.
I can't help you can't understand the lesson from an elderly loved one dying naturally. You have to let go eventually. People will die.
I have lost several friends and family to cancer. I don't blame God for their deaths. If it's actually anyone's fault, it's humanities. It's our fault things like cancer exist due to our sins.

The generic, bull**** argument you hear from every question when you ask "why did God do that", instead of simply saying "I don't know", they say that dumb stuff.
