Idea try and fix build for once

    i have an idea! make it so that when i build something for 2 hours and the server crashes it doesnt get deleted! how about remove //set cactus! or maybe, make it so you have to apply for world edit so the server doesnt crash every 10 minutes. i'm sick of building and being afraid that my build is gonna get deleted because of some idiot who thinks crashing build is fun and funny. i can't build anything without the fear of it getting rolled back 5000000 hours.

    Build is about everyone using world edit on huge maps. That's what makes Build unique

    Lets try to break this down. :V
    I can agree on this. Cactus shouldn't be used in world edit unless you are making a desert. It does cause lag as well.
    Well, world edit does have limitations for people who aren't build team+, and I don't think that people would want the limits to be any worse than they are.
    To be honest, people would also go nuts if you had to apply for World Edit Ranks, so I think we are fine for now.

    Edit: The only thing we should remove are cacti being able to be used in world edit.

    It has been mentioned several times that the cause of lag on mcbuild is related to the world loading (or close to that, idk i dont have the code) and not WE/Players doing stupid s***. Yes it is possible for a player to cause lag, but that's not where the main blame should be taken at.

    Just save your map whenever the server gets laggy just in case it crashes.

    how am i supposed to know when its gonna crash, a few days ago i had 100% when i did /lag and build crashed and i lost an hour of progress i had made on my build

    After you build a lot, its good to go on another map or the build lobby for 3 minutes to let the map upload and auto save.

    Build staff is working to get cactus disabled. If anything else needs to be added to the disabled block list, let us know.

    If anyone is aware of specific bugged worlds that cause crashes, send us the map IDs so we can prevent the maps from being loaded.

    There has been a bug lately where newly created maps don't load correctly and they're eating server resources and causing crashes. We can get these maps deleted so that those slots can become available to the owners again to create fresh maps. I'll report the bug as well and see if anything can be done about it.

    I realize how frustrating losing a huge amount of work can be.
    Fair enough, Xelasi said the team is working on that and some other lag causing blocks.
    This will make Build lose it's purpose. Build is a server with free World Edit for everyone. There are limits to minor things but not to commands.
    Again, you exaggerate the frequency of these events. They happen once in a day or two.
    How about adding trapdoors and everything that can be updated?

    We already have trapdoor (96) on the initial disabled block list ^^ but you reminded me to add the new ones to it, I'll look them up and add them shortly. I think we've got about all of them now.

    If you find a way someone is crashing build with, report them immediately and we'll punish that player and find a way to prevent that way of crashing the server.
