Who the hell does /warnings every single time they get on the server lmao. HE DID THIS MONTHS AGO, guess it would be logical to do ./warnings every damn day he logs on the server since then.
Why is it so hard for one of you "staff members" to tell him beforehand, "Hey, we're wiping your levels due to a glitch you did a year ago, can we work out a more accurate level to reset you to?"

You're acting like he did the glitch purposely, it was an accident. No need for a ban, no need for a full reset, no need for anything except removing the levels that he gained illegally.
How does this make sense? You're supposed to communicate IN EVERY SITUATION. If you guys are too lazy to send a private PM explaining what will be happening so there's no confusion, I don't understand why this server has lasted as long as it has. It REALLY isn't difficult, and I don't know why you're making a big deal out of it.
Well, the only staff member he would be going against is Roke, not every other staff member in this discussion because as you said, he has more authority than all of you but Roke. They could've worked something out, and he knows more about War than every single one of you.
You fail to understand this happened A YEAR AGO. He wondered why his levels got reverted because he thought putty said he was fine with it, so he might've thought it was a glitch, HENCE WHY HE MADE THE THREAD IN THE FIRST PLACE. It REALLY isn't hard to understand, though I agree with you it should've been communicated in a PM beforehand.
Again, makes no sense. Every punishment you're supposed to communicate beforehand. He was giving a warning IN GAME, sure. While he was OFFLINE, sure. When nobody does the ./WARNINGS COMMAND, sure. He should've been PMd on the forums, and I don't see why it's such a big deal. This is like a child arguing with his parents that he doesn't want to do the dishes or some **** that he's supposed to do. Why? Laziness? It's not difficult.
If you lied to putty you deserve more than what you got if I'm being honest, but all I'm arguing for is staff communication like Evil is, and I don't know why they're whining about having to do their damn job.

You pretty much summed it all up. I feel the same way on all the points as you just outlined them.

    Nice job by the way.

Thnx @tallscot for summing it up.
    Only two things are:
I have to say that that's not exactly true, I discovered it by accident and then - of course - I wanted to test it, so I managed to somehow boost myself up to a level of choice, which ended up to be the funny number 234. So it wasn't an accident, more like a test
I never meant to cover up the truth by saying the glitch was 'legit', I actually meant something else but chickenputty answered that he was aware that it of course it was obtained by a glitch, thus he already knew that it was not 'legit'. (It's like saying to the police after you have been arrested "I did nothing wrong").

I am just kind of wondering why one incorrect answer to the serverteam waves away any form of communication between the serverteam and me?
Sounds more like an excuse made up afterwards by BrawlismyCity instead of admitting they forgot it.

Why does the communication matter so much? By telling him you're basically just giving him notice that he got caught which is polite but unnecessary. And why be polite to someone that just tried to break your game? Perhaps if he had a question as to why he got unleveled, he could ask staff and receive that explanation.

In short: that staff in no more obligated to inform him of what happened than a police officer is obligated to tell someone who's been arrested what jail they're going to.

Okay, now that I actually understand what happened:

First off, if you found a glitch, never test it yourself. Tell staff. I think that's actually in the rules, but if it isn't, common sense should prevail there.

Second, if you lied about what you did it makes it very difficult for the staff to trust anything else you've said.
From my understanding, you did lose levels, but you weren't level wiped.
From the nature of past punishments, I'd say you're lucky to still have those levels.

No but the jury/police is obligated to hear what the suspect has to say. Half of the serverteam doesn't even know what happened. That's what's bothering me.

Again, I didn't blatantly lie to anyone. And every War-staffmember knows it was a glitch. So I'm just curious why nobody has ever asked me what, how and when sh*t happened.

That is not at all the situation we're in. The better comparison would be "police officer is not obligated to tell someone who's been arrested what they're going to jail for". And yes, they are supposed to do that.

It's not "polite", staff are literally supposed to do that, why do you think they have the ban reason listed whenever you get banned in-game? If they would've told him what happened, that he got caught, his whole thread could've been avoided, and there would've been no confusion. It's not hard.

I'm sorry, lied was the wrong word. Misrepresented? Anyways. The real point is that the lack of communication was likely due to trust issues which maybe weren't entirely your fault.
However, it's a little hypocritical to demand communication when you failed to tell staff about the glitch yourself.

Sure. The comparison was poor. Got it.

For clarification before I make another long post, you're upset about getting dropped 30 levels more than you should've been and the fact that there is little to no communication between staff and the community, right vincz?

Anyone with a slight ounce of common sense could realise that losing levels could be because of them abusing a major levelling glitch a few months ago. I deeply apologise for Vincz's lack thereof, but I believe assuming every community member hasn't the slither of common sense would be disheartening.

He claims it was an accident. First he lied about getting the levels legitimately, then he said that he worked hard for the stats and didn't mention that the glitch was an accident. Literally all @Vincz had to do was say that the glitch was an accident when Putty first PM'd him, and they could've worked it all out and Vincz would be back to his legitimate level amount.

This is pretty much all false.

We've never been required to communicate with people who we are punishing. In fact, having to communicate with absolutely every person who I've punished would make my "job" a hell of a lot harder. Hell, most of the time when I'm punishing people, I actively try to make sure people don't know I'm online (so I don't have to argue with idiots who claim that saying "kys" is perfectly fine, or have hackers toggle off when every player online says "socool21 tp1!!!!" the instant they join the arena).

I don't know why you're saying I'm too lazy to send a PM. I didn't even carry out the punishment. I just joined the conversation in the staff chat discussing what should be done, so I don't exactly see where I'm in the wrong here.

Having a fancy golden tag doesn't automatically mean he knows more about War than the entirety of the rest of the staff team. Going against about 10 staff members who all agreed he should've lost levels is exactly the kind of thing SMods are here not to do. Hell, if an SMod doesn't even take into consideration the opinions of staff, suggesting they care about the community's opinion is a joke.

    "One incorrect answer"
You mean a straight up lie? You can't "accidentally" say that you got those levels legitimately - if you refuse to co-operate properly with us, we won't bother trying to co-operate with you.

Brb, I just found out a command which lets me get as many wins in HG as I want. I'm just going to "test" it and put myself to the top of the leaderboards, lie about testing it to the owner when I'm questioned about it, then make a fuss about it on the forums when I lose a bunch of wins.

I love how you do all this, then have the audacity to make a fuss about it and pass the blame onto us. And then we get hate for not listening to the community......

"Few months ago", it was one year. I forget every glitch I've done a year ago, not everybody has a perfect memory like you.
So when you're banning somebody in-game, you don't give a reason for the ban? You're doing your job wrong then. When you're banning somebody on the forums, you don't give them a reason? You're doing your job wrong then. And when I said "you guys" are lazy, I was implying the entire staff team, not you specifically.
He was War Manager for a reason, so I would assume yes, he does know more about war than the rest of the staff team, including Roke as he hasn't played in years.

    o.o
    what happened here

This was discussed in a place where all staff members could see. If they did not look at it then that's there fault

You did indeed to Putty, does not matter how long ago it was.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not

If what you previously said about your conversation with him was true, you're admitting to lying to him :v
The magic of Common Sense  You illegitimately glitched levels on to your account, and once this discovered, your levels where removed and there was an added punishment added on for abusing the glitch. We have no reason to need to tell you we did this, because it was quite obvious

Still, you can still be punished for it, especially if it was this large of a glitch
Bans and this are completely different. If you mute someone while they are offline, we don't need to tell them we muted them, we don't need to tell a person if they faced a punishment while they where offline. And in this case, it's common sense as to why the levels where removed.
Not necessarily true at all, just because he has an SMOD tag doesn't mean he automatically knows most out of the whole staff team.
    yo hmu c:

I'm not even going to comment on the creation of this thread because it should've never happened

Never said you shouldn't be punished for it, that's not even what my argument right there was about. SoCool said he should've known why his levels were reverted, I told him he might've forgotten because it was a year ago.
They aren't different whatsoever. They're both punishments. When you say you don't need to communicate with the community if they were punished while offline, that's the stupidest thing I've heard. If anything, you need to communicate MORE in these situations so that there's no confusion. If I said something in chat a year ago and then I get muted for it today while I'm offline, I join the server and see I'm muted without a reason for me to find, I would be confused. It's the same situation, he was punished while offline because of something that he thought was settled back with putty a year ago. So no, it's not common sense as to why his levels were reverted, he might've thought it was another glitch or a rollback. That's why he made the thread.
They're not going to choose a CTF player to be War Manager. They choose who they feel knows the most about the gamemode and who they feel is the best person for the job.

    My 2 points are:
    1) It's not right to punish me with -30 levels, that's just my own subjective opinion (but honestly, I don't really care anymore and there are quite some arguments to drop me 30 levels, such as not asking chickenputty right away that it was a mistake and not approaching the serverteam about the glitch)

    2) The more important point: The serverteam had a debate and jumped to a conclusion, but without asking me for any form of information or clarification. Without this they have the wrong idea about what happened so it has clearly not been a fair process. If they had talked with me about the glitch, and then came to the same conclusion, I would understand. But this feels like unfair trial, I didn't hack or cheat, I just discovered a glitch.
Saying that I can't be trusted because I ONCE said THE WRONG WORD to someone 1 YEAR AGO is utter and complete horesh*t. I already have told, last year, to several mods on war that it was a glitch.

The fact that they didn't send me a proper and nice 'Heads up, we're bout to wreck your level forever'-message also bothers me, it's also - i think - one of the reasons MR_EVIL_OVERLORD started this thread, but that is just something the server does, depending how nice they are. It's not a disaster that they didn't send any message.

First off, he clearly didn't, and there was an extremely easy way to find out even if he did forget.
So, let's say I ban/mute 10 people for hacking from reports. Am I supposed to create a forums PM with 10 people explaining that they where punished and why? What if they don't have forums accounts? The appeal system is a magical thing
Why do you feel the need to shoot to the most extreme situation possible. No, they will not choose a CTF Staff Member for War SMOD. However, there can be a new War JMod promoted that knows more then the SMod. It's circumstantial, but can be 100% possible

You break the rules, you get a punishment. And on glitching punishments, the majority of the the results of the glitch are reversed. So in this case, your glitched levels where taken away. You where also given a punishment for abusing the glitch.
Did not jump to a conclusion at all, it was a solution brought up and agreed upon by many people. Do we ask people for information for punishments for glitching for other things? And we are not saying you can't be trusted at all[/QUOTE]
You checking /warnings or common sense could've been used to discover why levels where taken away

I'll agree that dropping you an extra 30 levels was no right of them. There's not a lot of things they can say to convince me that it was for the better.

The second point I'm on the fence about. While you are in fact a very loyal brawler, the staff team didn't know you accidently said the wrong word until just now. So I'm sure they felt cheated then as much as you do now. I don't think they're saying you can't be trusted, period. Instead, I believe they're just not sure whether they can trust you in this particular situation because, to them, you're clearly upset about this and they're not sure if you'd make stuff up to show them they're wrong for doing what they did.

As for the third point, I agree they should've told you and it was unprofessional of them not to. But you need to remember that most of the staff team are really young. They have no idea what it means to be professional, so they're trying their best. When people are afraid of talking to people, a lot of times they clam up and that causes a communication problem. I'm thinking that there's just no one around right now on the staff team who's willing to rise to the occasion and be that link between the community and the staff team, and that's fine.

So while I agree that they should've let you know and I can understand your anger at not being told beforehand, I think we as the community are expecting too much from staff. They're young and have shown to not know how to handle communication between the staff and community, so I think it's foolish of us to continue to expect communication from them, if that makes any sense.

Well, he wouldn't have created that thread if he didn't know why his stats were reverted ./shrug
If you ban somebody in-game, you're supposed to give a reason so when they try to join the server it shows why they were banned. If you mute somebody in-game, you still give a reason for the mute so when they do ./warnings it says. He didn't know to do ./warnings because, well, who would? Putty told him he was alright with it 1 year ago, and then 1 year later he finds his stats cleared. Why would his first instinct be to type ./warnings? Hell, I didn't even know that was a command until recently. Maybe you should advertise that a bit more.
But we're talking about the staff members that were a part of this discussion. No War JMOD that knows more about War than Rock was a part of this. Name a mod that knows more about War than Rock. And don't say yourself, because that's incorrect.

"Idk, I have better things to do right now" doesn't sound like "Glitching 70+ levels on War then lying to me about it is alright".

It wasn't a lie. I just mis-used the word legit and chickenputty corrected me allright?
You're spinning this around that one sentence one year ago.

All the mods on War knew that I glitched and nobody ever asked me about getting back to level 150, that's what this is about.
