Wrong. It was a crowd of peaceful protesters who were run down by a white supremacist. In other words, people being killed by a terrorist.

Unless you don't consider someone driving a car at 40mph into a crowd of people, backing up, and doing it again, an act of terrorism.

What "left wing bias"? And what about right wing bias?

Would this mean that humanity has some form of influence over God?

As a separate question, to nobody in particular:
How is it fair for God to punish Adam and Eve for eating from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil? If the idea of the tree is that eating from it gives them the ability to see what is good and what is evil, how could Adam or Eve have known that disobeying God was wrong? How could they have known to not be persuaded by the serpent, if they didn't see right and wrong?
I'm not very well versed with any specifics of the Bible, so if there's something about the story that I'm missing, just let me know.

But, are all causes righteous? You should understand the whole verse. It's clearly talking about hateful anger. Anger is not always a sin. The Bible always talks about "the wrath of God". Wrath is very great anger. There is righteous anger. When Jesus overturned the tables of merchants in the temple, that was righteous anger.
The KJV of John 7:8 is redundant. "Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast: for my time is not yet full come." See? It's unnecessary to use "yet" twice.
NASB: "Go up to the feast yourselves; I do not go up to this feast because My time has not yet fully come."

Perhaps there are some modern translations that are not complete, but I don't want to argue about what Bible translation is best.
    Read this. https://www.thegospelcoalition.org/article/how-not-to-argue-about-which-bible-translation-is-best

That's kind of the problem I have with the King James Version. The Old English is not really easy to understand.

Not really, but there was a time where someone changed God's mind.

God told them they could eat from any tree except that one. They weren't dumb. They knew what God meant. Eve could have seen through Satan's tricks, but she didn't and gave into the temptation.
It seems to me that Adam and Eve had a child-like innocence to them. A child knows about things they can do and things they can't, but they don't know the scary truth of good and evil, if you know what I mean.
When Adam and Eve ate the fruit, they learned the full force of reality and lost their child-like innocence. They also lost their lawful innocence, as they disobeyed God.

"Religion is widely accepted in America". The flat earth was widely accepted too, so I don't know what point you're trying to make here. It doesn't mean something's true just because many people believe it.

You need to get something through your head. Evolution has NOTHING to do with religion. The only reason we bring it up in debates is because is disproves creationism but the actual theory and science of evolution should be kept completely seperate from religion in a classroom setting. If a teacher said "alright kids today we'll be learning about evolution, which proves Christianity is bullsh*t" then there would actually be a problem. But just teaching kids about evolution has nothing to do with religion whatsoever.

On that last thing, yeah I don't know why it's worded like that. Evolution should be taught for the same reason kids are taught how atoms work. It's good to have this knowledge, to have an understanding of how the planet works, it helps foster scientific curiosity, it can lead to jobs in certain fields, et. cetera.

If your only argument against evolution in schools is a religious one, then you don't really have a leg to stand on. Should we teach that 1+1=3 in schools because it says so in my new holy book I just made up?

Basically, if the truth is offensive to your religion, then tough biscuits.
    2. OK well they're annoying then.
    3. Well, my bad, didn't know it was an actual concept. Still moronic though, for reasons I've outlined.
    5. Well in that case, most Republicans are fascists. Just to know where we stand.
    6. You haven't answered my question. Regardless of the shape of the earth (it's ****ing round) should flat-earther parents have the right to take their kids out of school and teach them their moronic beliefs?
    7. Well, you need to google communism if you think that all those people Stalin sent to gulag were victims of "communism". I don't think capitalism or communism kill people, it's a stupid line of argument.
    8. A feeling.. Still, kind of fked up, but slightly less so now I guess.
    9. Maybe they're just interpreting the passages differently. The Bible isn't exactly clear on a lot of things.
    10. Yeah, but if his policies were socialist, he'd still be socialist.
    11. Man, you must be fun at parties.

Sorry for short responses, idk if y'all prefer when I write essays but I'm in a hurry :stuck_out_tongue:

I know a righteous anger is not a sin, BECAUSE the King James Bible says WITHOUT A CAUSE! But your beloved NASB does make Jesus a sinner. In the NASB it clearly says ''everyone who is angry with his brother''. As for John 7:8, the NASB clearly says: ''I do not go up unto this feast''. Even in modern English, ''yet'' isn't placed in an explanation.

You didn't answer the question. Do you believe that God was able to preserve his words in an infallible copy (Psalm 12:6-7 KJV, Matthew 24:35 KJV) or are you a Bible-agnostic?

Also, what is your statement of faith concerning salvation?

You need to seriously stop with the "flat earth theory" you are just beating a dead horse that has been dead for centuries, while religion is more than alive in comparison. I was using it as an example to show how you can't force people to believe in Evolution because the majority of America probably doesn't. No matter how much you scream it won't change anything :>

You are acting overly aggressive. It is possible, as some of the people in this thread have shown, that if you are polite and patient then you can have a much more engaging talk.

I wasn't born in a christian household. My parents are atheists; they don't believe in God, but don't really care about the entire debate tho. Most of my KJV-only brethren I know also weren't raised in religious households.

Mainstream christianity is full of idiocy and madness. The proponents are often impossible to reason with; in my experience they are the right-wing equivolent of an SJW. They believe a set of (false) doctrine made up by men like Calvin, Arminius, the pope, Luther, etc. And believe that just because their parents and pastor taught them to do so.

True christianity is not about joining a religion. It's about getting saved by faith alone in Christ alone by a conviction from God's word. (so not men)

Well... I guess it's your opinion that all the other denominations are wrong. I disagree completely of course, but it is interesting for a different perspective.

I'm not aggressive. I'm just asking questions. I capitalize words sometimes to emphasise. If you got offended by that, then I apologize.

For me it's not a battle royale between denominations. For me this is saved or lost. As for myself, I'm non-denominational: I don't care what any pastor or supposed ''great men of faith'' have to say; I only care about what the King James Bible says.

Most denominations are filled with lost people, because of their false gospels of worksalvation. To name some examples: catholics add water baptism on the gospel; calvinists say you have to persevere in good works in order to know if you are part of the ''elect''; pentecostals say you have to turn from sin to be saved, etc. This is all adding to the gospel, which makes those ''christians'' trust in their works rather than in Jesus' finished work (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV) alone for the payment of sins, salvation from hell and eternal life. The most common work added today by false christians is ''losing salvation'': people who believe salvation can be lost are not saved, because for some reason they believe their salvation depends upon them rather than what Jesus did.

Matthew 7:21-23 KJV shows us that many supposed ''christians'' will end up in hell. We can read in those verses that they mentioned their wonderful WORKS (we're not saved by works - Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV, Romans 4:5 KJV, Romans 11:6 KJV). Jesus says he NEVER knew them (he didn't ''once knew them''; Jesus doesn't have alzheimer). In verse 21 we can read they weren't saved, because they FAILED to do the WILL of the Father which is found in John 6:39-40 KJV; verse 39 teaching once saved always saved and verse 40 immediate eternal life by faith alone.

Just joining in, but here I go.

I don't believe in religion and I think that looking towards it for luck and guidance is stupid. I can see it as a good and a bad thing for some people. People can use it to cope with problems in their life, or they can use it to avoid their problems, therefore, making them worse.

There is no current evidence to prove that god is or isn't real. I won't say that an explosion in space created everything, and I also won't say that a big hairy ghost man in the sky created everything. Here is a scenario that replicates what could have happened but with examples from today:

The whole world is wiped out except for 2 people: Jane and Steven. They realize they are the only ones left so they reproduce to save humanity. When their children are old enough, they read them the cat in the hat book. They tell them that cat in the hat created everything and that Jane and Steven are modeled off of Sam I am. They take this in and the kids tell their kids the same thing. Soon enough it is widely accepted that Cat in the Hat is their creator.

    Some questions for religious people:

How do we know the same thing didn't happen except with the bible?

Why does religion vary so much depending on region? How do you know your god is the real one compared to an Egyptian or Greek god?

Why wouldn't god do anything to stop all the hate and problems in the world?

How did this person know what was moral? Also, if God's mind was changed about morality, did that mean his first thoughts were incorrect? How could a perfect God be incorrect?

    I really don't know.

It's fine. They're easier to read.
It was Moses, the man who received God's law, the Ten Commandments.
What happened was, God was going to destroy an evil civilization. Moses begged God not to do it. God told Moses that if he could find one righteous person in the city, He will reconsider destroying it. Nevertheless, Moses did find someone, and God changed His mind.

    USA, baby.

There's nothing wrong with drinking beer. It's not a sin. It's getting drunk that's the sin. If you can't drink beer without getting drunk, then you shouldn't drink it.

But did that change God's mind about what was moral and what was not? Surely not, because Moses was told to find one righteous person, which would only be able to be defined if God had already set his stance on morality. My question is about what caused God's initial decisions on morality?

@Gehenna_Beam can you please answer my questions?

    To answer your questions:

The King James Bible is the only religious book in the world with no contradictions and accurate prophecies. It couldn't be written by mere men.

Because religion is often political. Monotheïstic religions became popular, because it's easier to unite people under one God than under an entire family of different gods. Constatine realized that and fused roman paganism with christianity; created an entire system known as roman catholicism today. I know the God of the Bible is real, because the Bible is the only book that contains prophecies. Also, as a christian, I'm sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:11-14 KJV) so sealed in my faith (Hebrews 12:2 KJV), which is why I will always have faith in the gospel and God's word.

God won't stop it, because humanity has a freewill. Besides, a lot of the problems are also God's judgment to the world for rejecting him.

    OK three things here

    1. You clearly don't understand why I'm using the flat earth theory. It's not because I think there's strong support for it. In fact it's the opposite. I know that 99% of people accept the round earth, but I'm using it as an example for why disbelief in evolution is so moronic when so many people take the round earth to be an absolute true. Both are equally scientifically proven theories.

    2. I think it's adorable and very very stupid that you think it matters how many people believe in something. Newsflash: more people believing in something doesn't make it true. Will you convert to Islam if/when it overtakes Christianity in total number of believers? Evidence and scientific method decides whether or not something is true, not the number of gullible people will to believe it.

    3. Actually, a majority of Americans do believe in evolution, so... there ya go. And even if it wasn't a majority, simply the fact that so many don't believe in it isn't a reason not to teach it and not to try and get people to believe in it. It is true. Get over it.

enderdragon you may be less crazy than Gehenna on supernatural stuff like dinosaurs living with humans but when it comes to debating the logic, morality and usefulness of religion, you are perhaps even less reasonable than he is.

You need to understand that something is not true just because America wants it to be.

You also need to understand that evolution is as much a fact as the shape of the earth. If you want to be a science skeptic for the sake of it, I can't stop you, but you're picking and choosing based on what fits your holy book.

You also need to understand that evolution is not "anti-religion". It is not anti-religion because the entire theory of evolution has nothing to do with a belief in God, it is Christians who spark the debate in evolution by not accepting it as science. If Christians like Gehenna accepted evolution as true, they would find that belief in God and Jesus's teachings is still possible while adhering to science. It may still be stupid but I can't really claim that a belief in the Judeo-Christian God is "wacko" like a belief in creationism is.

You also need to understand that the purpose of education is to teach kids relevant, useful and factual information, not to teach them things that have no basis in science or reality simply because people might get upset of they don't. To quote Ben Shapiro, a prominent conservative commentator (I'm a liberal FYI): "Facts don't care about your feelings."

On the drinking beer thing, this is another example of sins being vague and hard to follow exactly. What blood alcohol content constitutes drunk per the Bible? How much alcohol can you drink without sinning? Are there specific guidelines laid out by God? He sure does make it hard to follow his word to the letter. Almost as if it was written by flawed human beings.... Maybe...

    Some things

    - If evolution were true, then the Bible would be false, because the Genesis account would be an error. If the Bible isn't 100% true then it's not the word of God. And without God's word there is no salvation (Romans 10:17 KJV, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV)

    - Again, there is no solid proof for macro-evolution. You can insist there is all you want, but that doesn't make it true. Micro-evolution is an observable fact. Evolutionists merely assume that because micro evolution happens, macro-evolution also happens. This is a false cause fallacy.

Anyway, I don't mind evolution being taught; I'm not one of those snowflakes who are afraid to have their beliefs challenged. However, I'd like to see neutral education where both evolution and creationism are taught as THEORIES. Let people through free thinking draw their own conclusions.

To be honest this is a very nice to think. Again this won't take you closer to the real truth, only your truth.
