Custom Resource Packs?

I'm clueless on what I'm doing but still attempting to modify and make a 'Nightmare' themed resource pack which is like.... 1/100th of the way done.

Who else has started on their own and what have you done with it?

 

I'm hoping to have all guns made into some kind of flesh frenzy theme, all sounds redone to make the player feel like their character has gone mental, and redo block textures to look dull and creepy. I'm hoping the end result is the game feeling like an apocalyptic nightmare.

 

I'm finding the sounds to be one of the most difficult parts (which is why I'm slowly making my way towards it). I took sound files someone had previously made and I'm redoing them little by little. There were too many high pitch metallic bullet impact sounds that I've replaced with various ground piercing thuds that I've found online. I'm going to work on making the reloads and shots sound realistic next. It's hard to find previously made samples that match the noise in your head. Idk. It's probably best to start with sounds to get the hard part out of the way. When the battle sounds are 'perfected' I'd like to find a way to spook things up... if possible. It's hard to make things scary when there's a gun in your hands. So maybe a psychotic scene? We'll see.
