I use it right now as much as I did when I was a Kit Brawl Jmod. Honestly it's just about trying something new and something you aren't used too. I disliked the program because of popular opinion back last year, but now it's not that bad and I got used to it

 

Personally I like Discord more. It seems to come off as being more friendly and doesn't give you a cubical vibe. I used teamspeak more often solely because that's where most of the McBrawl players were at.

 

I didn't mean that TS was a new thing, meant it as trying to step out your comfort zone in Discord and giving it a try. Sad reality is that Discord probably won't be the main platform for a while.

every warz staff members regularly uses ts so yes you need to be active on ts to communicate with other staff members

teamspeak is wayyy simpler but discord probably works better for ctf teams

 

Please stop saying that it's just for WARZ. It's not. Various platforms use it, including War and Wild West. Probably BR if it had a playerbase thats constant. Various people use TS not just WarZ players.

 

Clearly isn't just for CTF but besides CTF, it's hard to find any actual Discord servers. Closest thing to my mind is WW in certain events when they use Discord.

 

Discord is popular but that's not a reason to change platforms. Putty has said no to changing from Slack to Discord iirc, don't think he would say yes to changing from TS to Discord.

TS3 has always been a way to inter mesh existing staff with players looking to become staff. While I can agree to a certain extent that it's useful, it's socialist to all hell as you have to have an in with the staff get into a channel, because they're all private.

Considering Brawl's current state, it's arbitrary to use TS3; there's not a single channel you can join that has people in it, most just go to the cap rooms or private ones.

What TS3 is is a tool to measure how much you're friends with the staff and the little groups that exists within it. Back when HOLY was a thing, I was in the channels with Chevy & Speck a lot, and really it's nothing more than a little social group of friends.

As per the mods who don't use TS3 "We know they're doing a good job or can't so they're excluded", they get a free pass, and I agree that it's completely stupid that that's allowed.

When Brawl's Discord came up, I thought people would finally get rid of TS3 for budget reasons, but they haven't, which is beyond me. All that Teamspeak is nowadays is a private call button on Discord.

I've always been against private channels in Teamspeak, and I've always been against mods who skip out on it; it's not fair and it makes it rather hard to "be apart of the community" when everyone goes into their private rooms, like Teamspeak was originally meant for.

Get rid of it, it costs excess money, move to Discord fully, get rid of private channels except ONE. They were only there because of the Skype DDoS scare during WarZ's prime, and Discord eliminates that.

Discord is gay because all of you use private servers. You need to be friends to talk to people.
Imo discord is annoying to use. Why tf can't you create private channels. It lacks so many features.

You are talking about 1 gamemode on brawl, not the server a whole. I understand that CTF players use discord but thats just CTF. What about the WarZ players? Most use TS, war player too, basically every othe

Thats just 2 different type of channels with the same name; one text and 1 VOIP. TS has both of them in 1 channel. I never find text chat useful on discord compared to ts, as your not flicking through other pages.

Why single out the CTF community? Its not hard to get another player on TS, and surely, you can just message someone you know and say 'pass' and then you can join. Not hard, correct?

 

At least on TeamSpeak people actually talk with each other. I've never seen people talk in voice channels on the Brawl Discord, even though that might just be me. I view Discord as a well developed chat communication tool due to many reasons one being the fact that you can add friends and such, and that the Discord has chat channels (just like Slack) which saves messages.

CTF is - and has always been - a special case because the community is very disconnected from Brawl as a whole. Not to mention that the CTF community tend to stick to their own Discords rather than engaging with the rest of the Brawl community on Brawl's Discord, which I do after all respect as it is indeed way easier to organize stuff with your own Discord.
