So me and others have noticed how the higher level you go, the 'worse' guns become. Low level guns are getting buffed to make the experience for new players better, but that goes at the cost of dedicated players their experience. The Scar-H, P90 and Ranger still aren't a real upgrade from the guns you get before those. The Intervention isn't much better than the Dragonuv, which is a 60 level difference. The m4a1 shouldn't be as good (or better) than the AK or ACR.

Giving high level players guns that one-shot people isn't a proper way to incentivize gameplay. If you can't enjoy the game without having stupid powerful weapons, you probably shouldn't be playing it in the first place.

you can one shot people with any sniper not just the intervention, the ACR and SCAR-H are comparable to the m4a1, the p90 is trash, the ranger is worse than trash.

On the other hand, if levelling up gives you nothing useful (as a result of bad high level guns), there's little incentive to progress throughout the game and player retention won't be as good. There's no point in making the game new player friendly if none of these new players stay and become regulars. There needs to be a balance.

The marginal improvements to the guns are fine imo. The main improvements come with the perks and killstreaks.
    ^^^ This basically.

... which is why high level guns were nerfed

not really sure why high level players should get extremely strong weapons in the first place. it just blows new players like me away. If you're really good (high level, tons of kills, decent KDR, etc.) then I don't see why you can't just utilize what you have to greater effect, since that's what being "really good" implies

Higher level guns shouldn't necessarily be better. If you're a higher level, you just have a bigger arsenal to choose from. We are always trying to balance the game, and trying to make every gun worth using. We don't want one gun (AK before the nerf) being used by basically every person who has unlocked it. For instance, when you're level 65 - we want you to consider using a gun you unlocked at level 10 for a certain map. The problem with legacy war was the distance between the new players and those who had the iso, skullcrusher, and python. It killed off the game and no new players stayed. We want everyone to have a purpose to keep playing, and we're always working towards that status.

It makes sense to get better guns as you progress, you're right in that perspective. However this isn't the type of game where you can become OP and not break the game. If anything is too strong, everyone becomes affected, not just the people who have the OP item.

    To give an example:
You have MMORPGs where there is obviously a statistical difference between low- and high-level players (new WoW player vs. 5-year veteran. It's not even a competition). However, unless the low-level player is incredibly stupid, he's simply going to choose to avoid messing with the OP players, and he's going to stick to his own "section" of the game, such as doing his own quests and going to the lower-level PvP areas (if those even exist, I don't play WoW :v).

On War 2.0, we don't have those "sections" of the game that divide the players so that OP items/aspects of the game do not affect the entire playerbase. On War 2.0, if one thing (gun, perk, killstreak, etc.) is too strong, then those who have it will reap the benefits, while those who don't have it will want to quit. And considering how we're doing right now, "players quitting" is the Achilles tendon of Brawl. We have to strive towards balance at all costs because in War 2.0 games, everyone is fighting against everyone. It is the same as if new WoW players had to go up against the 5-year veterans.

Like DarkTitan said, you might want to choose a lvl10 gun as a level 65 player. So what? It's a much different system than War 1.0, and the reason why it's so different is because we're aiming for something bigger than 0 players.

I used the intevention with stoppingpower and it doesnt 1shot to body. So much for balance, all the other snipers have different fire rates better accuracy and more ammo than it. Waste of money

I 100% agree. It’s not right to have someone with an EXTREMLY better gun than a new player. Although, higher leveled and more experienced player do deserve a variety of somewhat more accurate guns.

While guns don't necessarily get better, kill streaks do. Experienced players still dominate against new players using their higher skill and use of stronger kill streaks. No guns except ranger should be buffed.

    >m4a1 = high fire-rate low accuracy
    >m16a4 = fast firing burst weapon
    >Famas = high accuracy burst weapon (its **** ATM tho needs buffed damage)
    >AK = good all around gun
    >ACR = high accuracy low fire-rate
    >SCAR-H = high damage high fire-rate low fire-rate smaller ammo capacity
None of these guns override any other (apart from famas which needs buff) but all of them have their own quirks, strengths & weaknesses.

    Famas needs a buff (thread)
Also, some smg's like the mp7 & p90 need either a slight buff or a bit of re-balancing.

I have a 1.7 kdr and I use the m16. The guns are fine. Especially speaking of AK47 ;v the guns are balanced.
