Basically what I'd do if I was in charge of Brawl
Just sparknotes here, no real need for detailed explanation atm
Edit: may make posts for points 1 and 4 in the future
    1. Dedicate a period of time to exploring new monetisation opportunities & improving ranks
    2. Sell gun gamemodes and HG
    3. Use money to hire devs to upgrade gamemodes to latest version, as close to original as possible
    4. Turn lobby into Club Penguin-style RPG with focus on exploring, collectibles, cosmetics and player houses, might require another post
    5. Advertise properly

There are no monetisation opportunities post-EULA, other than some cosmetic gimmicks that make a few hundred dollars at most

    ranks could use improvement though.

No because uranium will be triggered

    That's assuming Brawl has money

Why can't a lobby just be a lobby. Why does it need to have a bunch of fancy stuff. People join servers because of the gamemode(s) not the lobby.

Agreed with most of that thread

Because most cosmetics that don't affect gameplay can only be used in lobbies, so the more time people spend in the lobby, the more desireable those cosmetics are. It also means that instead of shoehorning them into existing gamemodes, you can build an entire gamemode around cosmetics, making them much easier to create and sell.

    2. Why would Brawl sell the gun game modes?
WarZ is one of brawl's most profitable servers, if not the most. I always see people buying WarZ boosters or whatever in game.
War 2.0 just came out, and would you want to sell a game that has been promised for the last 7 decades?
Wouldn't it make more sense to keep WarZ and war at least? Battle Royale is dead already

WarZ's a cash cow so it definitely would need to stick around at least for awhile, i considered mentioning that but I guess i didn't lol

so i don't consider brawl a big network without enough players, I consider it a smaller network with valuable assets that aren't being used to their full potential. I think thats an important distinction to make, even if just for a change in the doom and gloom mindset that's around atm.

my thinking is that the gun gamemodes take longer to learn than traditional gamemodes, and most players can't be bothered with that. with games like party and build you can have fun from the outset and it shows in the player count. and while the gun games can be a whole lot of fun, they're a lot more fun when they've got more players, which is something that Brawl can't offer right now.

imo long term these gamemodes are going to die off because new players aren't willing to spend time learning them when they're relatively unpopular. So ignoring any sentimental value they might have, the best option is to rip off the bandaid and sell them before they become any less valuable. But you're right about war, could probably make an exception for that. I'm not particularly hopeful for warZ though despite the money it might bring in.

selling gamemodes in general would be helpful a) because it brings in cash that we can invest in other gamemodes, and b) because it frees up time/money spent on upkeep.

wild west makes no money. logistically speaking, if a gamemode would be removed, wild west would hold one of the top three choices behind battle royale and hg.

WarZ is a cash cow, you're right, and brawl should maximise it. Keeping theory aside, brawl became popular mainly because of WarZ if I'm right. If brawl were to sell WarZ, not only would Brawl lose a lot of its players, I also doubt it would be able to survive on its other gamemodes. Let's take a look at its other gamemodes.

WW: according to the comments above it doesn't seem to be raking in cash so Brawl can't rely on it

    BR, HG: lol

Build, KitPvP, Party: I don't see people buying anything.

CTF: I am unsure about this, but I'm pretty sure player counts are declining too. Correct me if I'm wrong

On to some gamemodes that I am relatively positive about:
Raid: I actually do see people purchase stuff for raid, so it is probably a cash cow too, although it might be becoming a dog

War: 2.0 is basically an extension strategy to War. To be honest, I have no idea how successful it is. However, 2.0 is new, so it is likely a question mark or a rising star, so it should stay for a while first.

Conclusion: Brawl basically has 2 other gamemodes to rely on. With WarZ being their best gamemode, I don't think they can live on the other two. Frankly speaking, if WarZ goes, everything else should be sold off too.

Yea true but I think it makes more money than party or kitpvp.

And everyone can agree that warz is the real moneymaker XD

Party and KitPvP are the gamemodes designed to attract players. KitPvP is something extremely common amongst the entire Minecraft community, and it's possibly the only popular non-unique Brawl gamemode. Party, on the other hand, is easy to learn and brings numerous players to the network by providing advertising(primarily YouTubers). Though these gamemodes aren't necessarily supposed to earn the network money, they are still important by attracting people to the network.

Player counts on CTF have barely changed. I would say in the past year the average player count on games has gone down by 5-10 but there are still lots of full games.

    *sigh*
Why does this have to be brought up all the time?
Let's be honest here, most of us wouldn't be here at all without MCPvP. MCPvP's core gamemodes were HG, CTF, and Build (depending on your viewpoint, personally Raid/Main was very important too but whatever).
HG was the main reason for most of the gamemodes on MCPvP that we all loved even existing, let alone getting to the great stage that they were and are at then and now. MCPvP was kept alive for almost 1.5 years just from HG's cash flow (which was pretty immense if you think about it).
I hate to see people just throwing shade at HG for little reason from an economical standpoint. Sure, not many players at the moment and personally it needs more mods (xd), but you can't go along and beat on HG for a) getting a bad rep from salty MCPvP players (especially how is that in any way my fault as was insinuated recently) and b) having competition with more coder time (said competition is dying as well if you look at the community).
In 2015 and 2016, HG apparently brought in a heck of a lot of money as newer Brawl players would purchase HG kits with cash. Thanks to the EULA, this particular cash flow has been reduced (and re-opened recently again). The thing is that right now HG needs some serious dev time that Brawl just doesn't have. That's no reason to send it.

Rant over, agree that Brawl needs some economical changes (especially considering Mineplex has a Battle Royale gamemode as well now).

Having that would interest new members etc. Even me, a self acquainted smarty pants (who's thinks hes above sneaky server antics) kept going back to servers just because of their lobby. Honestly It wouldn't be a bad feature for brawl.

I mean really, it couldn't hurt.
