    Yeah someone posted their mom's credit card in chat today and asked someone to buy a rank for them. I was under the impression that buying ranks for others was frowned upon. I've purchased ranks (rarely) as a gift for one or two other players, but mods said in chat that this was not allowed. Just an FYI.

    From what I understood trading in game items for a rank was banable but I was fairly sure gifts were OK. I have probably spend over 200 on ranks for friends and trading ranks for p4/gold

    Buying ranks or other items on the Brawl store for others are absolutely fine. There is even a 'This is a gift' checkbox when you buy items for you to gift them to others. What we do not allow, as Ry23an has said, is trading in-game items for ranks. Something like: "Giving someone 10 P4 sets for 3 months ELITE! - PM ME!" is not allowed. It comes under real world trading - www.brawl.com/rules
