Idea Another SMOD for Raid

My opinion: Would it be beneficial? Yes, of course. There would be a lot more possibilities and fun activities for the community and more efficient pushes for changes and player retention. Is it necessary? Probably not, but it wouldn’t hurt. Overall, I think Eil does an absolutely incredible job by himself and even as Mods/JMods we should be helping him in anyway possible, but it wouldn’t hurt to have another SMod capable of helping out with not only events/community interaction but with bug fixing/finding with the help of creative.

 

Well Eil does deserve admin imo, so if he were to be promoted to that (while still helping with raid), another Smod would be needed anyways. Promote Eil to Admin, and Melvin to Smod ^^^

 

Can you suggest a few 'on the fly' events you would like to see (other than KOTL)? Events that don't take hours to prepare, but that everyone can enjoy?

 

Another Smod would be helpful, but there need to be smods for the other servers first imo.

 

100 withers in the end, giant mosh pit arena brawl thing, "race the sky base" etc would be fun to me. I remember having a few of these kind of hosted by myself and it was really fun

 

yeah other servers need an SMOD before you get a 2nd raid one which isn't even that necessary in my opinion

 

I don't get this logic. What does it matter if other servers are in more of a need for one? Why should that prevent another one being promoted? It's not like the resources to promote another smod are scarce.. Bottom line is that this would help raid, which it REALLY needs rn. More events = more fun = more players on. Raid is fairly player dependent, and tbh, I don't see any harm in promoting anon smod even just for raid. It doesn't cost anything, it will only benefit brawl, and melvin has been staff for a while now proving he can be trusted with the commands and such (imo).

Other severs can still get an smod even if raid does get 2.
I'm not certain but I'm pretty sure anon (the most suitable candidate for smod on raid at this time) wouldn't be as well suited to smod on other gamemodes meaning what ever role he has on raid wouldn't even effect other gamemodes.

We already have @Miskey the randy smod. And eil is doing a great job I don’t think raid should have a priority for another SMOD when other game modes like war, warz, wildwest, and party could benifit much more.

Priority?? I'm not understanding why there is this idea of scarcity for promoting staff. It costs nothing and provides a ton of benefit for servers. If other servers don't have a valid candidate, then the time will come. If Raid could use one and a valid candidate exists, why not promote them?

 

Personally a WarZ Smod is far more needed right now, as well as a Party SMod.

 

Im not saying there is a negative effect, what I’m saying is raid already has an SMOD. There are game modes that bring in many more players that are without an SMOD and i think thise game modes should take priroity of gettin a SMOD.

I didn’t say raid shouldn’t have a 2nd SMOD, I said that others should be taken into account before/if a 2nd raid SMOD is promoted.

I'm not saying "Promote anon and screw the other servers". I don't see why there should be a limited amount of smods. In fact, the more the merrier as long as they are trusted imo. If a valid candidate exists, why not promote them? This goes for all servers. I'm not saying "next smod should be anon." I'm saying "promote all valid candidates, anon included".

 

There is no reason not to add a second smod (unless there aren't good candidates). People saying that there shouldn't be another one because other servers need one are just being stupid. Raid shouldn't not have an smod just because some other gamemodes don't have good candidates and therefore don't have a single smod. At the end, it's for whoever is running the staff team to decide if someone should be promoted not the community.

warz has no smod, raid has one, if anything warz & war need smods

 

I understand both arguments but don’t get why you’re arguing with each other. WarZ needs an SMOD more than raid needs another but surely promoting another raid SMOD would benefit the entire server as they could still hop on warz and deal with reports even if it isn’t their main server...
