Fly hackers on war

    In the past 24 hours, I have seen at least 5 or 6 fly hackers, and that't just the time that I've been on. I know this idea is beginning to be very monotonous, but something more has to be done. ll these fly hackers that I have seen were not banned when I logged off, and according to the player history, are still not banned. One of them is even on the daily kills leaderboard because that's how long he was playing with no staff coming on. Basically, what I think is that staff members need to respond more actively to reports, and/or more staff members need to be able to ban players. It's not like a mod has to do heaps of recording to ban a blatant fly/speed/killaura hacker, they can come on for a minute, maybe take a screenie or a short 10 sec vid and then ban them and leave. It is quite a shame that war is becoming so much less popular because of fly hackers, but something needs to be done. I do not mean any offence to the staff team, I respect you all, but I just think that reports should be investigated more than they are.

    Didn't play yesterday, must be something... but for real, friending as many moderators as possible is the best you can do since it's easier to contact them that way.

    For me the problem is usually that there's no staff online. :v Just me and Pyrotheum

    Agree, as a builder I have access to /stafflist so I can message mods when theres a hacker. But theres also a lot of times when there isnt any staff online, having more active mods would be very helpful.

    Just get an Anti-Cheat already.. There is no need to fly in the Pre-Game lobby :/ I think we would all prefear an Anti-Cheat over it because there are just to many not only Fly hackers but players with TpAura and that's game breaking. And if some players who are reading this don't understand what I mean by "Getting rid of Fly" I mean that when they put an Anti-Cheat on all Premium players would get kicked after a game. It interferes some how and I'm still not quite sure myself. So would you like to Fly as a premium in a lobby? Or get smoked by loads of blatant hackers with most of the time no mods available or bothered to assist you.

    What about implementing an Anti-Cheat that only bans players who fly during the game? Would it kick players in AC-130s or spectating?

    I just need internet that doesn't time out all the time. I tried getting on about a half hour ago and immediately got timed out. Sad times.

    I believe that we're trying to work on an Anti-Cheat designed specifically for War, but I have no idea how long that will tale.

    It's unrealistic to suggest we'd ever be able to have a mod ready to ban fly hackers on War 24/7. Even if we promoted absolutely every suitable applicant we had and every mod was active, we wouldn't be able to do that. We need an anticheat.

    Ya. The problem is that ppl may get banned for using ac130 or chopper gunner. or vip+ in the lobby

    Thats one of the main issues. Not saying toki and snail are bad mods, there just isnt enough.

    Even 1/2 more moderators who play would somewhat help the issue. The problem isn't fixable; it will never be, but having maybe 1 or 2 more mods would reduce the impacts of cheaters.

    I don't understand why everybody doesn't get this. We can see on the forums, why not in-game? I can see how this could lead to spam, but it could also prompt online staff to actually do something. Banning a blatant fly/speed hacker should not be a problem and should be done by any online moderator, whether if they play War or not. Sorry for the mini-rant, I promise I do not despise any of the staff, on the contrary I respect that they give up their time to help out the server, but I do get upset if there are online staff that blatantly ignore a /report of a fly/speed hacker, because it should not be a big deal to take care of.

    There's a few reasons why we don't let everyone see all online staff:
    • Allows players to know who banned them (if there's only 1 mod on), which is pretty bad considering there's been some sociopaths who've threatened to "pay a black hat hacker to ruin my life" over a ban before.
    • Ghost client hackers can toggle off whenever a mod is online.
    • If a staff member is online but just wants to play the game, they'd get a crap ton of flame/harassment in PMs if they don't go after reports. Keep in mind, we're not required to always go after reports - there's been times that I've gone after every report on the network singlehandedly for 4 hours, decided to stop going after reports and play Wild West, and then got harassed by an ex-staff member on their alt.

    Unfortunately, it'd be way too easy for hackers (and normal players) to abuse having access to a list of online staff.
