Idea Bringing back Legacy

actually ok i agreed +1 but............ my idea was to bring back legacy like 1 time a week or 2 times a week....... like on saturdays the war2.0 server will be offline but the legacy server will be up..... that forces the people to play legacy for a day and doing that it also doesnt spiol war 2.0 and legacy........... i hope you understand what im trying to say.......

 

2.0 would be great with some balancing, and also, of course, bugfixes (new bug on me: just like it happened on the beta tests, I can't shoot, can't scope, and can't use any lethals or tacticals. server restart doesn't fix it). But I'm starting to feel that a fixed legacy would be better than a glitched 2.0. Problem is still the old tho i guess, legacy code is outdated and unfixable.

 

Did the whole server get removed? Or is there still /legacy

 

legacy would be added back, there would be players on it for a week or so, then it would go back to how it was before 2.0 was added. dead. brawl has proved this many many times with different game modes, so just adding a server will not keep player retention. 2.0 is better than 1.0 in almost every way imaginable. all that needs to be done is for the hit reg to be fixed and it's basically 1.0 with better maps, more kill streaks, more game modes, more things to do. going back to legacy would kill the gamemode and it's not a smart thing to do whatsoever.

 

I miss Legacy as well! I think if they added the option of going there in the compass or something it would be better. I would rather play legacy than 2.0 war. I enjoyed it more. Sure some updates to it would be nice, but I like it just the way it is! I actually made a discord of people who used to play legacy and still like it. (most of them) https://discord.gg/pgaVURp I know more people would like to have legacy back then just those listed above, and think that there should at least be a button or something in out hotbar on war to take us to legacy. that would most likely raise awareness of it and make it easier to get too.

 

I know that some people prefer Legacy, but I also know some don't. It is sad that all the stats are gone, and that you can't make any new Legacy memories, but sometimes it's time to move on. Legacy was completely unbalanced, and because of that, it was dying. I see almost no problems with 2.0, and even the hit reg which so many people complain about doesn't even seem noticeably bad to me.
Yes, offer some special Legacy event where players can choose to play Legacy over War 2.0, but don't shut 2.0 while you do it. And don't do it all day it will be too confusing and people will think they've lost their stats again.
Legacy was popular after it was re-added to the compass because everyone was so excited to see all their own things back and remember the times they had, but after they do it for a few games, remember how unbalanced it is and then leave, the server is dead again.

I think at the moment 2.0 is great. The only thing I think that needs changing is some of the gun balances, but as soon as we get Developers to work on War this will be fixed too and everything will be fine. 2.0 is much more exciting in general, and can even run well with less players without being boring. It is much more fair for new players, and they don't quit after one infected game where they get Ray spammed.

My problem with 1.0 is how unbalanced it was for low levels. It was easy to maintain a high kdr in 1.0, because you'd literally just farm noobs day in and out, and they had no chance to get you. In 2.0, it's way quicker to get the goods guns and at least have a chance against the high-levels. I'd also miss the diversity in gamemodes of 2.0.
The bugs/glitches, hit reg and lag aside, I enjoy 2.0 way more.

War 2 just needs some gun balancing, more maps, and fixed bugs and glitches. then it will be like war 1. hecc. maybe even add some new guns (not ones that break the game)

Sometimes you just need to forget the past and accept the way things are now.

 

This kills the war community. Even if it's in the players interest it definitely isn't in brawls .

 

Back on topic - Tom already summed it up pretty well. If you had War Legacy updated you'd split the community further, meaning you'd have 2 smaller playerbases to feed with updates and keep happy rather than one. Just look at SoupHG and NoSoupHG - ignoring the fact that NoSoupHG was very badly planned and not coded well, it would not have helped HG (in fact - it pretty much killed it) much as it did just what would happen to War - it split the community.
Don't do it - War 2.0 is Brawl's main hope next to WarZ and Party at the moment.

 

Step 1. Determine what you liked about Legacy.
Step 2. Make a detailed suggestion explaining how what you miss about Legacy could be added or adapted for War 2.0.
Step 3. Profit ???

Three easy steps that people seem to want to avoid so they can pointlessly complain instead.

Note: If you miss the OP guns like the donor ones and the skullcrusher/iso, don't bother making a suggestion for them.

 

Part you missed. I'm not talking about Legacy being updated. I'm suggesting that instead of complaining, people should try to take what they liked about Legacy, and suggest for it to be added or adapted into War 2.0. If there is something truly worth keeping ifrom Legacy, then people should be able to make a completely valid and reasonable suggestion that is worth considering reintroducing into War 2.0. I'm not entirely sure how you got the idea that I was suggesting that Legacy should be updated, but you somehow took my post completely opposite of how it should've been taken.
