Whether or not the minimap gives an unfair advantage on build isn't the point. Derp hacks don't give any advantage but they're ban worthy anyway.

Banning off of a screenshot isn't sufficient. Sure Doges posted it but why would he try to get himself banned like that? And it's dumb to infer that Doges was deliberately cheating (assuming he was) when 1) he had no reason to, 2) worked hard to improve build for almost 2 years, and 3) would have used a much more damaging hack than minimap if he wanted to grief someone's build/ go out in a blaze of glory (tac42)

Rules are rules, all there really is to say.

 

Meanwhile I was bhopping and killauring on build... Several staffmembers said that it was fine to use hacks on build. There are some players, like me, who use speed(fly) to fly faster. There are people who use an autoclicker to build faster. And then there is me who just wants to destroy @PoixMine in a build 1v1 (which I can't cause he uses resistance 100585)

if roke, putty, or any of the other higher ups had the same "rules are rules" attitude you do here then you wouldn't be unbanned and you certainly wouldn't be staff right now

brawl staff find a way to blow my mind every day. they don't have the time to investigate a report for xray, no willingness to screenshare or to fix this server in any way possible, but yet they still find the time to ban a former staff member (a quite good one at that) for using a minimap on a minecraft creative server.

person who banned him obviously was very bored and wanted to use his power for something, even if it was stupid as sh*t. i had to deal with that all the time when I was staff, it was a thing then and it is obviously still a thing now. when people get staff they want to use their newfound power at any moment they see the chance to do so. this results in a ton of false bans and a lot of stupid ones at that. I can name quite a few people that do/have done this but im quite tired of calling people out because the higher ups obviously don't give a f*ck anymore

It may not provide an advantage on build, however who is to say the only login with Mini-Map was on build? In the rules it doesn't state any specific server(s) this rule applies to, meaning it applies across the entirity of brawl itself.

The fact Doges was a good past staff member doesn't exclude him from punishment from a rule that is currently inforced, If it did it'd give more to complain about with "unfairness" towards players.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree Mini-Map with entities or caves doesn't give an advantage on a build server but considering the rules are currently set a set "No Mini-Map with entites" it should have been clear it would cause a ban. Maybe it is time to "change the rules" but expecting nothing from a clearly stated rule when breaking it when it's currently inforced is yet again another thing widely complained about.

There's no advantage it can provide on build, and there's no evidence of him using it on a gamemode other than build. Stop being a slave to some dumb "well its not allowed XD" rule and ask yourself if the ban was really reasonable
