(Over) One month later

Its been a little over a month or two since Brawl released WarZ "2.0". Everyone, even staff members, were super skeptical about its release. A lot of the planned stuff for Brawl in fact, has been considered the make it or break it point. And in my opinion, it was part of a breaking point.

Don't get me wrong, this didn't specifically kill brawl. Brawl has been considered "dying" since around 2015-2016, its just been what seems a steadier decline now than it was in the past. Part of this being the release of both battle royal and the new warz. With a strong first week for both gamemodes, neither received any promises the staff gave. Specifically the consistent updates events etc with WarZ.

After a couple of weeks and minor gameplay fixes to warz, players started dropping like flies. Gameplay was still as broken as ever, looting completely flooded with max tier weapons, and high tier players camping pvp zones and towns crippling new players. No one new who joined stayed, and anyone attached to the previous gamemodes slowly vanished as well. The communities voice seemed useless after countless threads were ignored.

The previous gamemodes, and I'll say this as unbiased as possible, were without a doubt more successful than this. Events carried high numbers, but even before that held high player counts during summer and winter breaks. Lately I've hardly seen player counts hit 10 maximum. It typically stays in single digits.

Theres not much else to say. There haven't been updates, new game features, map changes, removal of loot signs, events etc. So, I guess the whole point of this thread is to ask a couple questions;

Was this update worth shutting down the other servers?

Will the previous gamemodes ever be restored?

Will this gamemode be shut down?

Do you have plans for player retention?

How can this update be remedied?

I'll answer this one. The easiest way is to do what the community asked, bring the gamemodes back, but with minor updates. Wild west could use a smaller map. Don't feel like building one? Hitchens did it for you! The map is hardly different from the old one, but everything is closer together, all it needs is to remove and or shrinks towns / rebel bases. Wild west by itself would have more players than current warz maxes at. Not only would it have a successful relaunch because its been highly demanded, but it would also would have better player retention due to it being a more thought out and well developed gamemode. Tweaking and relaunching WarZ would have the same effect. In all honesty, it would take less work from the staff team to do this, than to change the new gamemode enough for people to actually enjoy it. Both gamemodes, by themselves, or put together were better than this. And this is coming from someone who put a lot of time into creating it.

Now sadly, the likely hood of any of that happening is very slim. But with the return from my travels, I'm willing to put forth building time and more in order to help this.

Let me know what you guys think, I'm not trying to bash the new gamemode, I'm giving suggestions and asking questions.

 

Yes, it does have a lot of potential. But, is it ever going to reach that? More than likely not. The game "in its current state" is rushed and buggy, it would require a lot of dev time and other staff work for it to be actually enjoyable. Apart from that, there was been a community made list of wanted and fair updates that has not been added, or even started on. It would be much easier to bring the old gamemodes back and gain the hype of the players, than to update an already dead game.

I believe thats all that hitchens map is, if so we can just use that
