Once upon a time I spent many, many hours working on a WarZ 2.0 for Brawl. I was about 80% complete with the project, but other projects got in the way and a map was no where near complete.

Here's a feature list I can think of off the top of my head that was completed:
    • Dynamic grouping system for teaming up with players on the fly
    • Global banking system, ability to purchase more pages/slots with donator ranks
      • This could be either global or per server, haven't really decided
    • Two safe points on opposite sides of the map
      • Acts as a spawn point
      • Access to your global bank to gear up
      • Merchants where you can sell obtained objectives found around the map
    • Timed events around the map so there's always something to do
      • Loot crates: The most common timed event are loot crates, can be looted every 2 hours for better loot
      • Uplink Station: Few scattered across the map, can be looted every 45 minutes for even better loot
      • Reactors: One reactor on every map, a group (of at least 2) is needed to capture the reactor. Capture the reactor by standing on the point and defending for 60 seconds. Once captured, you will be given a reactor key which you then need to take to a safe zone to redeem your reward. Reactors give you the best loot, including higher chances of legendary weapons.
    • Experience / Level system for doing objectives around the map, killing players and doing timed events.
      • Certain guns are only available once you reach a certain level to encourage play
      • Gun are tiered, ranging from Common to Legendary
        • Legendary weapons can only be obtained from air drops, uplink stations and reactors
    • Randomized air dops
      • Brought in on an enderdragon
    • Peaceable shields (wood/iron doors) for protection
    • Different healing items (some better than others) with dynamic cooldowns based on how much they heal (higher healing items have a larger cooldown)
    • Body looting system (similar to Wild West)
    • Loot can be found laying on the ground (like Wild West)
    • Custom zombies that spawn randomly (these are more like "boss" zombies, so their spawn rate would be incredibly low)
      • Bolter - Speed zombies, jump at you when they get close, not heavy hitters
      • Retcher - Throws slime at you that explode on impact applying poison damage
      • Bruiser - Slow zombies until they charge. They charge the nearest player at a high speed and damage on impact
    • Advanced cooking and hydration system for some PVE experience
    • Full achievement system (50+ achievements complete)
This isn't the full list of completed features, but that's the bulk of them. I had a few more ideas planned as well.

The main reason behind this thread is to gauge how many people would like to see this mode be released and would actually play. I don't want to waste time on development if the player base isn't interested, so be sure to vote on the poll and let me know what you think. Link this thread to old WarZ players so they can give their opinions and thoughts on this version of WarZ.

I'll catch you on the flippity flip
    Bai

WarZ, having been up so long with little to no "revamping" done, is very lackluster. To me it doesn't feel polished. I think that a lot of the things on this list would definitely improve the quality of life and feeling of completeness that the current WarZ 1.0 lacks. +1 would play

edit 3 days later: I think a lot of the people that prefer a dedicated revamp of the original warz are missing the fact that a lot of the code is difficult to work with. I don't feel like it would be cost-efficient to spend so much time trying to edit the current warz when we have an almost-done so-called "2.0" server

I would love to see some kind of testing session so people could see if they like it more, but if you don't change the combat system (i.e. grapples and combos), I don't think many people would mind. +1

I mean very its interesting. Everyone has been playing the original War-Z for so long now it will be a hard adjustment but it could either work or not. I like the looting system on the current war-z and also the body looting system where it all just drops. it adds suspense where you don't know how long you have to get everything you want off the bodies. I also don't really like the new zombies thing. i mean if we had mostly regular zombies and then in the rarer loot areas have a mix that could be cool. I would say i wouldn't just because i'm just used to having to run cross map to get the best stuff and having a very low chance of finding it. Then the whole supply drop thing could be cool but once the supply drops were added in war-z people with hacks flew to them and beat everyone else there. I can recall multiple occasions where i was killed omw to a supply drop to try to get a barret or diamond armor. If we had both, Maybe. but if it was just that. I would have to say no. I also don't like having the shared e chest type storage. I remember having to remember what you had on that particular server and then trying to make do with what you had because noone would pull full diamond and awp spas. Just noone is that dumb but if its shared they can just get on another server, loot, then go back on the server they were on and pull better stuff giving them an unfair advantage against the players there currently fighting. Kind of like if they were at East Airport on 1 and they were at Nether on 2 (Talking old map) and they were in a fight. They logged, Looted on 2, then pulled barret spas at east air when the people there thought he just had iron armor and an awp m10.

P.S. I have played warz on and off because ive been banned for about a year since about 2013 or so

Honestly, you've released a war 2.0, and and that wack was wildwest/warz gamemode. We all prefer Warz 1.0, and all we want is improvements to it. Like airdrops being brought back? Those were a big thing, and now they're gone. We want map updates. We got a few map updates but nothing big. We love our comboing, and our game mechanics. Boost pads changed a lot and I think a majority of us Like them. Why not replaced the Newer warz #1 server with another warz server? Maybe have an event to launch it too. We've been waiting for staff for forever too. Your last mod for warz was Jay, and he was a piece of ****.

I hate that you put all that work in for it so far but in the current state of Brawl adding a new (Ik it's a revamp but I'm calling it new anyways) gamemode would be a pretty bad idea. You need to prioritize development to already established gamemodes that actually have playerbases (CTF for example) and build off of it from there. It's a bad idea to make another new gamemode when the server does not have the money, time, or amount of players to even think it will be successful. It happened to War2 and it will happen to WarZ2 aswell. (I love War2 and it's very well made but there's a multitude of reasons why it failed - not because it was bad). At most it will be popular for maybe a couple weeks before dying out. It's wasted time and money.

Expand and improve existing gamemodes with established playerbases. Go hard with advertisements for those specific servers. Prioritize them in any way you can. Once those servers begin picking up traction and begin growing, then you can expand into other aspects of Brawl.

tl;dr - Don't make the same mistake thrice. Focus dev time on established gamemodes. Once they have begun growing in popularity, then you can start working on other gamemodes.

I would prefer a revamp of Wild West but this seems pretty nice. I'm not sure if I would play it a lot.

Similar to how safezones worked in the original game & NewZ or did I get that wrong?

Never played those games much, but if you’ve played shattered skies it’s a similar concept

The gamemode itself sounds really compelling, and could become very enjoyable to play, all depending on how it will be delivered. Only difficulty I see is that you're targeting a very small and stubborn community (WarZ). As we are to used to the current gamemode, which is why many players quit and rage upon every single update the staff team tries to add. Which is why it is hard to be you guys I assume :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe release it without the WarZ name, and rather create hype around it in other ways than using it as a follow up on WarZ, and use some money on advertising etc. I am not exactly an expert, just my personal opinion.

i'm done playing either way but the game mode seems cool, so long as the original warz combat system is kept the same. big reason wildz flopped was because there were no combos, or rather they weren't the same as warz.

I mean of course I am a war mod but I personally believe a complete new gamemode isn't necessary and I personally believe updating the current games is way more efficient and brings the highest chances of 'surviving brawl' If you frequently update the already existing gamemodes, old people are first going to rejoin to check it out again and with the updates you make it for in this case war more enjoyable and keep new players. I daily see a lot of new players on war that just don't stick around along with the high amount of bugs that not only war has but for example party has quite a few as well.

Although I'm a war mod and would obviously much rather see changes happen to war. I honestly believe updating the current gamemodes is the best thing to do right now. (And we could use some help with updating war!)

We simply don't have the player count to bring new gamemodes out for (IMO)

Look, a lot of people will play it if you actually do what you mentioned in your thread @Signatured. The only problem is, its Brawl and #soon has been a 5 year old meme thats turned into a sad reality.

And you should bring back wildwest first, it will bring back a community thats now completely gone from Brawl. I am in a discord with about 30-40 other people waiting for a wildwest thing to either be put back up. Also: make WarZ 2.0 a gamemode thats specifically based on either wild west OR warz. You cant have both.

Also here is a random suggestion to make the economy more fun: adding a PVE Boss system. Essentially add boss eggs for players to spawn and fight for money.

There are better games out now, the old community is gone, no minecrafters want to play competitive gun block game anymore. If Brawl wants players it should invest some time into creating a competitive PvP community with a newer gamemode.

Avtually Idk, if u rly talk about 2.0. All those features u named are not contained till now. I play 2.0 now for a longer time 5 month I think but actually never met at least one of those qoted features. But if those features would be added it would be cool.

If it were my server I'd slap up a WarZ event and tag all the old timers and people interested in coming back to gain interest. Open up 4 servers with original maps, 2 old, 2 new and give free WarZ Elite to everyone for 7 days. Let everyone get back into the game and see how it does. Here's how it will go down:

    1. People will enjoy the event and buy ranks after it is over, making warz alive again so ride the wave and make money for as long as possible and slowly increase servers if necessary.

    or

    2. Brawl will make a bit of money from the few that enjoyed the attempted reboot and decided to stick around after the 7 days.

If number 2 happens then I'd strongly suggest shutting WarZ down finally and ignoring the few that actually want it back. Invest the money saved from not running it and money made from the people who bought ranks after the week in a new project and try to grow brawls playercount in a different area of Minecraft. @Signatured

And get rid of that warz 2. But hey, this ain't my server so... I'll go back into hiding now. If you do agree with this hit the agree button or no one will give a poop.
