Few days past celebration, but happy new year yalllllll!!!!

I clearly still care for you nerds and I'm not going anywhere soon and neither are the most of you, so....for this brand new spanking 2019 year, I'd like to make a proposal... heh

I copy and pasta’d most parts of my old application - it's Jul13n btw for those not up-to-date. If you’re curious and want to read the comments or the few questions that are now no longer asked, feel free to take a peek at its entirety- https://www.brawl.com/threads/59989/. I’ve updated sections and added new thoughts and feelings, but all of the facts haven’t changed other than my in-game availability and my Mod experience which I will note. But before that, here are some relevant background details as to why I’m reapplying -

I resigned last year basically because of entering college - and as expected last year I really didn’t have any chance to play (as you all saw with my rare in-game appearances). Since last summer up until now, for the most part I’ve been able to be active, (just slightly less active in-game but with even more activity on the Forums compared to when I was previously staff), and I somehow still miss the job... (as I’m sure all of the others who reapplied have felt). Still after weighing the pros and cons, I would like to be back on the (staff) team. But, I needed to know that I’d be able to provide essentially the fullest of what I can on my end before applying for the chance to be accepted back... Now that I’m a second year in college going into the second semester on a strong note and am more comfortable and settled into this life-style and workload (also with stable WiFi, nice upload speed, a computer that works, and a room to myself and not a horribly awful roommate, yey!), I know I can. However, I’d like to note that I'll also be starting a demanding IRL job, but I still believe I can make compromises and balance the workload as any other extracurricular activity. If not, I’ll make it clear. If I can’t manage to keep up my activity appropriately, I’ll resign.

With the loveliness of college and real life in mind, here are a few changes to take note -
In regards to in-game activity, I can average about 1 hour every day on weekdays and at least 3 hours a day on weekends, so I try to make my best of it. I'm always enjoying the game––playing, chatting, and having fun with the people on, while keeping an eye out for hackers of course so everyone's having a fun and fair experience. During breaks and holidays I can dive into my cave and be on for half the day. However, on Discord and the Forums I can be active nearly 24/7 with notifications on and how easy it is to pull up and use my phone throughout the day. Even now, I make sure I'm up to date with every post and conversation and do my best to give and receive input to help develop ideas or figure out solutions.

Additionally, my Mod experience has made me a better applicant, as is natural for all experience, with life experience included. Having walked the talk, or for running the walk, you can better judge me for yourself.

Without further ado, here is the application! --

    Brawl Junior Moderator Application

I read over this thread- https://www.brawl.com/threads/14752/, and understand that I meet the basic requirements (active, helpful, must have Discord, etc) to apply.

What is your in-game name? - scapezar
Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated? - Yes. (I have also secured my previous “main” account, scapecrafter, a few months ago by speaking with Mojang.)

How old are you? - 20
What time zone are you in? - EST
Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - Yes. I am just about fluent in Spanish and perfectly understand it (being raised half Mexican). Therefore, I can also understand a lot of Portuguese and read a bit of Italian, but would need a translator to speak back. I have also taken 4 years of Latin, if anyone cares to speak a dead language. I want to also learn French, Russian, Japanese, and others languages.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl? -
On top of my previous year Mod experience from August 14, 2016 to December 23, 2017, I am an uncertified Mineman professional. I have been playing for 8 years since MC came out, whether on my single player worlds or on multiplayer servers (there is not a gamemode or minigame I have not played). McPvP was one of my first main servers (with HG and CTF) 7+ years ago, and I first joined Brawl 5 years ago playing on MC-War (to become lv 30+) on scapecrafter. I have really started to focus on PvP mechanics for the last 4 years so I can continue to test and perfect my own gameplay. I completely know how the game works, especially in regards to PvP. As such, I can always answer how something can possibly happen the way it does, whether with a hacked/modified client or not. Although I still have so much to learn with Java, I understand the code input that creates MC PvP while also understanding the output and the numerous, complicated factors: latency/connection/ping, delay, hit-detection, frame lag/spikes, knockback, momentum, reach/range, head/body/sword movement, clicks/cps, hit-boxes/aim, strafe techniques/patterns, FOV, and MC/computer/mouse sensitivity and settings. The factors seem endless, especially as each server adds even more because each (like an individual player) works differently. Knowing the various broken down components that make up Minecraft and how to optimize each one of them for one's own use from enough observance, testing, and perfection helps, for example, "combo" and one-up others in PvP.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? - Good experience. I don’t know what else to say - I’ve basically done it all with strong conduct up to Mod privileges, on top of having been exposed early on to Mod work with my brother, Z_Hobo, on the server he has been staff on. On the staff end, my activity included lengthy staff chat and Committee call discussions, providing ideas and input for backend works, dealing with hackers--regulars included, helping with matches and events, and being a connection for players/the community to the rest of staff whether with ideas or for solving issues.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl? -
I really just care for the server and community, and with the rank, I’d be able to more easily and effectively help out. Even now as Minecraft and the server is getting older and dying out, I see so much potential, vibrancy, and life. It’s quite spectacular seeing new players gradually become regulars, gradually filling new spots of an OG community - it’s like a never ending cycle, and I hope to keep it that way because I’ll honestly go down trying. In the end, it’s not just seeing pixels on a screen, it’s forming lifelong connections with so many great people, like, so we can keep on seeing wintergreen’s Happy Anniversary posts. xd <3

If I become a Jmod/Moderator, I would provide everything I could with the power and rank. I will ensure that the game is free from cheaters and hackers and that the chat is well moderated. Uncalled for toxicity, harassment, and bullying of any sort would remain in check. (I understand the default chat setting and that one can adjust it with /censor and block certain people with /ignore.) On top of that, I would make sure to actively stay on top of any uncalled for “targeting” as it has been becoming an increasing problem - as silly as the term is within a game where one team’s defense must target/face their opponent. I understand very well that “targeting” is inherent within the game to have fun and play the objective, but, up to a certain point, it’s called harassment. All in all, I will continue to give help to anyone in need. With the moderator status, I would return to no longer putting full priority over myself, but it would be over the community and server.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -
Yes. About 6 years ago I used Nodus. For the most part I was a smart hacker... I would only use the small cheats (no combat hacks) like chest finder, wall hack, and full bright on the servers I played on. At this time, it mainly consisted of McPvP's HG and two other servers. I have good memory of never hacking on McPvP's CTF, or else I probably would not even be here now. But, when it came down to a hacker v. hacker showdown... I showed no mercy. >: ) That's when it would turn into the Matrix's final duel between Neo and Agent Smith when they fly around wrecking each other to the death. So the enemy hacker would be flying around our team's castle, and I would turn on my fly and we would also duel it out....

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? -
...which brings me to this question. I forget the server name (it was actually on the CTF gamemode of the large network) but soon after I got banned for fly (this was about 6 years ago). This was basically my wake up call. After this, I took a small break from Minecraft and I think my brain/maturity had to have developed a bit more. I deleted my hacks seeing no righteousness in playing in an unfair way. Just like how I got used to cheating, I just as easily got used to playing legit. And ever since then I matured with the game, and now I just laugh at what a noob I used to be.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
I have always been a nice, helpful, and friendly person. I love meeting new people, and I love to laugh and have fun. Although I may come off as a bit childish, given the circumstances, I can put on my pants and work glasses and it is all serious business from there. And once I have a drive or goal in mind, I am determined to work for it, and I will not stop until the job is done. That is just how I work, and it can be very productive.

Writing more and more on this Staff App reminds me... I have a tendency to over-do myself, whether it is with writing, working, exercising, playing in a team sport, or having too much care for detail. I just want to give out the best product I can, although it always takes much more time and effort than I'm sure is necessary.

Lastly, maybe my greatest strength (apart from being a Mineman pro of course) is my ability to understand and/or communicate for an understanding. The ability to understand and have an open mind has been a common theme and essential tool throughout my life. I put myself into the shoes of others (it works better if I know them well). I try to understand them when they are a certain way or make a certain decision, while I communicate the same for myself. And I would never do something harmful to others that I would not want done to myself. By having an open and understanding mind, it opens the door to improvement and creativity, which are also two great and handy assets of mine.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
Still being addicted to Minecraft. like wtf (but it’s the community too <3) I want to no-life the game when I know I shouldn’t or (meta)physically can’t.
But in all seriousness, a specific weakness towards the game, Brawl, or staff in general does not come to mind. However, IRL I tend to procrastinate things until the last minute, although I somehow always manage to finish on time and do a good job at whatever was needed done (though usually at the loss of sleep heh). I procrastinate things because I do not have a full interest in them, but that would not be a problem in this case. I would regretfully procrastinate IRL things just so I can be on Brawl for a few more hours, because I honestly have too much interest in playing CTF, becoming staff, and helping the server and community out.

Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on? - CTF is my home, although I had frequently taken care of KitBrawl and have been on Build from time to time.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - 1 (link provided above)
What is the date of the last application you submitted? - August 14, 2016
Do you have Discord? - I do.

Anything else you would like to state? - my nem jeff

It's going to be a great year tbh ngl
(whether I get accepted or not, no hard feelings lol im still gonna be around to help & have fun)
I know the staff team is making some good moves and, with our community, we have everything we need for success.

It's actually HUGS and PUGS...…. but I'll let it slide this time.
+1 ! I've always seen you as a pretty optimistic person but not blind to reality, which is a great great thing to be, especially in a community like this! If you've got the time on your hands on weekends to tune into CTF meetings sometimes that would also be amazing since you also speak! Always nice to have speakers there  I think one of the biggest things is caring about the community and what happens to the game. From seeing your forums activity, anyone can see that you do in fact care about the game and the community. This is my experience and knowledge of you, can't speak for what I don't know. Good luck, Julien!

@puhdgy ty for your feedback! i swear i wrote that...
I'll definitely tune in to the meetings. Maybe there could be more advertised staff & community open meetings where we could discuss certain topics to not only get feedback but also help generate more and better ideas and solutions - while making sure to have something like Hana's impressive note-taking ability down. xd Could at least be fun calls lol

+1. My only concern is your in-game activity (might just be timezones) but honestly, I think you'll be fine.
    Goodluck Julien!

It's probably the timezone. If not on between 3-5pm EST, I'm usually on later between 8pm-12am EST even though I still don't really have a good, routine schedule set.
    Thanks Niko!

+1 From Ice Bear. Even though we had very few interactions you seemed decent when it happened. Everything else seems to be in order.
