    Hey guys-

In case you haven’t noticed, I said before that I raided 80+ water temples. I also did this in the span of 12 hours of gameplay, which if you do the math is about 1 temple every 10 minutes. I’d like to share how I did that, and the ramification of it.

In the first week of play, I was going around and setting warps at very specific locations at the same coordinates as the old map. I noticed something peculiar- the locations on this map at specific coordinates looked exactly like the last map. My best guess is that the seed was the same between maps and didn’t change.

I approached Eil and the mods about this and they confirmed that, indeed, the seed for this map was the same as the last map. Using this, I went back to some notes I had the last map about water temple locations. I had coordinates of ~200 water temples last map that I kept so I wouldn’t waste time reraiding them, and now that he seed didn’t change I had the coordinates for water temples this map. I ended up taking the coordinates, running them through a Traveling Salesman algorithm, generating an optimal path, and ran around to raid them.

As it turns out, about half of the water temples did not exist at the coordinates on this map. (I’m guessing there was a glitch last map in water temple generation, which explained the temples intersecting one another but I digress). However, half did exist, and while some were raided, most were not. I ended up getting over 6,000 gold in a weekend using a lot of milk, a good pick, and a Resp3 helm.

However, the fact that the seed didn’t change between maps kinda changes everything about this map. This means that, other than spawn, every block on this map is the same as the last one.

Every spawner, desert temple, moosh biome, (most) water temples- everything- is the same as the last map. This means you can open up your chat logs from the last map and use the coordinates there to get the warps you had before. If you had a double blaze farm last map and know the coordinates, you’ll be able to make a double blaze farm this map. I found my quad XP spider farm right where it was last map, and time permitting I will recreate it.

I wanted to give everyone the edge on this in case you didn’t know.

    Good luck.

What if I told you that IRL I am an adult that makes over $100k as a analyst/coder and I get recognized at work for noticing things like this.

I’m also efficient and usually I’m the richest guy on the server, worth more than the next top 3 combined, and earn the most gold per time played.

And finally, you haven’t played a single second of Raid and haven’t been on Brawl in over a month. Need me to buy you an unban or something?

Then are you here to contribute, or just make fun of those who contribute? What’s the point of commenting on a game mode if you don’t plan on playing it? Finding out that the map didn’t change is a huuuuge deal, and I was making a point that keeping it the same can allow it to be totally broken.

If i would have to guess they used the same map in order to avoid the massive lag of the sotw since all chunks were already loaded. Can be completely wrong but thats my guess.

I'm waiting on HG either being shut down finally so I can say goodbye properly, or for it to be re-opened

The Nether is not the same as last map, so this would not be the case.
This is wrong. All maps are always completely loaded before going live. Also that logic would assume that last map it wasn't loaded, and was loaded by players as the map progressed - Meaning all edits to the map would still be there.

It was decided to be kept the same as the KOTH platforms had been built into the terrain, and would have had to be scrapped (without being used), redesigned, and built, which would have been a shame considering how good they are, and the effort put in. Graff is probably the only player to have traveled, and memorised the map extensively enough for it to be frequently recognisable. For everyone else, other than possibly the coordinates of mushroom biomes (which are usually found on Day 1 anyway), it would make little to no difference.

He's doing something you didn't intend for him to do in the game. Ban him

    I disagree on several fronts:

    1) Eil and I communicated on the fact that the map didn’t change, and he admitted to that
    2) It’s not a bug, but a feature- the map was designed this way
    3) I only saw maybe 20% of the temples and knew where they were. I let the rest of the players know too so I would no longer have an advantage, and they could raid the other 80%.

Now is this extreme bug abuse? Hardly. It’s more like playing cards, and seeing that this round has the same cards as the last round.

Play the map? Players are intended to play the map. The fact the overworld is the same as the last is not a bug, it was intended, for the reasons I listed in my post above.
I assume you are referring to your ban over a year ago. The ban you were given for extreme bug abuse was entirely of your own making - You simply had to give details of the bug to a staff member so it could be patched and that due to the nature of the bug, you would be banned otherwise. You chose not to tell us after multiple warnings. While this is not a bug, players ultimately have to use a bug before they can know about it. There is a very clear line between using to find out, then reporting; and using again and again and refusing to tell anyone the details, even once caught.

Hockey is kind of right. But there is no reason to have to go a say it (accuse of bug abuse) and there is absolutely no need of any punishmnets to be given.

It might be a bug but its also a feature of the game.

So people play the game utalise its features
