Is mc-war still alive?

What? I recall around 50 players or more during that time frame. You think that’s dead?

 

It means that in 2013-2014 war had hundreds of players 24/7 and then in 2015 when they updated to 1.8 the playerbase just tanked. Of course that "dead" was no where near what it is now.

 

Why is it 1.8? War has little to no melee PVP.

 

he never said it had anything to do with melee pvp lol, i remember everything getting real glitchy at that point, but it may just have been my awful internet connection

 

Some players talk about 1.7 having better PVP mechanics.

 

The server was REALLY buggy when they updated it and for that reason a lot of people left. I wouldn't say it was the reason war died, but timewise it was when the playerbase really began to decline (and was also quite the head start).

AFAIR there was a memory leak that made servers unplayable after a few hours. And it took like 6 months before patch.

when orange451 left, the 20 war servers started lagging and that got players to quit. The player count and server count dropped dramatically. Before orange left, there were usually hundreds of players on 20 different servers. After orange left, i’d guess around 150 to 200 players remained and the server count kept degrading from 15 to 10 and eventually i think 5. People kept leaving and moving on. Also war 2.0 was announced in i think 2015 and got a lot of hype and it did not come out until 2017-2018 forgot which one. I’m guessing that was also a let down for some people. And that led to brawls death. I still don’t know what happened to fpsHG which was definitely one of my favorite gamemodes. But the rest is history. Thank you for listening to my ted talk.

Yes, I think it is definitly. Just logged in and ofcourse.... 0 players online. I really liked this game when I was younger and really see some old-known players here on the forums, I hoped that mc-war was still a bit alive and playable with 20 players, but it has 0 sadly enough :/

 

those were good times. I always played servers 7 and 1

 

We should make some kind of revival to this like we just did with the gamemode MC-WarZ which turned out to be very successfull simply because so many players came back. So the thing we need to do is that one player creates a MC-War discord and then invites every player they know that played war and then tell others to spread the word. This would be a fun experiment!

 

let us not forget orange451 DID finish 2.0 but brawl scrapped it...

 

1) I privately tested that with orange literally the day before that video was taken (the clan 'jizz' in the video was his clan). It was by NO means finished.
2) It was scrapped because orange left and nobody understood his code well enough to finish it. It was restarted several times before Totom Sig and Paul eventually finished it.
