Tracking and raiding Necro’s quad pigman

There are two types of rich players on Raid.

The first are players that run around, collect/craft/trade/enchant stuff for the shop and get rich off sales. The second are players that AFK at pigmen spawners until they are tracked and raided. I am the former, and @Necromancer51572 is the latter.

In the last week or so I’ve been looking for trackers or obby for the sole purpose of tracking and destroying @Necromancer51572 ’s gold farm. On a hunch and from prior experience with trackers, I looked for and found several trackers at incredibly round coordinates. Unfortunately most were in disrepair but I was able to find a halfmap one that I could make a fullmap.

Also last night, Necro was on and massively AFKing at his gold farm. He was on so long, I was able to do all of the following:

1) Mine up an arm of a 5-stacked partially raided fullmap
2) Convert the half map to full map
3) Using the fullmap, and screwing around with tracking for an hour because I’m clueless, I narrowed him perfectly on an obby tracker
4) I then calculated the wrong coords, traveled there and found nothing
5) I retracked him and found my mistake (I had X and Z flipped)
6) Went to the correct coords and saw him still there (10 sec warp) and set a warp. He was probably AFK and didn’t notice me.

Up to that point he was there for at least 3-4 hours straight with no attempt to avoid tracking. I didn’t want a fight and waited until he was off.

I came on an hour later, incredibly tired and saw chickenputty rummaging through my warps looking for glitched armor from Chaploo (who is permbanned due to a hacked account). However, Necro was *still* on, AFKing harder than ever, for pigman gold.

I finally had to sleep, woke up this morning, and saw Necro was gone. I dug down and raided a quad pigman spawner, a dub of rotten flesh, a dub of smooth stone, and a dub of random (including a god axe). I blew up the place with 2 stacks of TNT and was autobanned for swimming up water at the raid (which is lol because now I was stuck there). I did get an unban an hour later, logged on and got the hell out.

But my message is that AFKing at gold farms makes for incredibly EZ tracking, even for a tracking noob like me, and if I see Necro go up in gold again I’ll track him and help myself to more of his dragon eggs.

 

True, and if I were to post every raid I've done I'd be permbanned too.

But there are several points here:

First, @Necromancer51572 's tactic is terrible. Gold farming really isn't viable in a gamemode that punishes you for AFKing, but no one else on the server seemed to care though so I intervened.

Second, I had heard from several sources that his goal was to beat me in balance, so I wanted him to know that if he wants to make gold farms like this I'll just track them down in the future. (Backstory: About a month ago my team raided his autobrewer (I didn't even track the thing down) and he got all butthurt specifically at me for raiding it and selling the components, so he wanted to beat me in gold).

Third, this mechanic of pigman farming can completely wreck the economy, and he took it to an extreme. Per the video below, he had a balance of 510 gold about a month and a half ago:

However in the span of about 40 days he amassed 20,000 extra gold. Now some of that was in the shop but most was in gold farming. I exclusively focus on the shop and am constrained by demand on how much I can make (i.e. there's not enough players to buy my stuff), so I know what the shop can legitimately generate (approx. 200-300 gold per day on average). However, he generated this ungodly amount of gold literally out of thin air due to the spawner mechanics. The *only* counter to this is tracking down and destroying these, and I wanted him to know that, and the rest of the server to know that.

 

This literary is the end stage of the Raid server.

Not enough players on to track, or sell to so no one is raided or buys from the shop. Stuff in shop is so cheap because the only players left are old players that don’t normally need to buy stuff but can easily sell stuff, driving the prices to nearly 0.

Enchant is so abundant because of the end event, and uncontested KOTHs. The events basically resupply remaining players for enchant for the following week.

Last night I saw an elaborate base less than 2k from spawn and within range of the spawn tracker. Someone had time to build this really nice base, and no one is on to find and raid it.

Players just afk at farms to collect gold because they are the only players on and selling in shop no longer provides any revenue. Eventually they get bored enough and just move on.
