WarZ Seasons - Season 1

    WarZ Season 1 - 31st May


    Sup Zombies,


    I hope you're all well and keeping safe at home, It's been a while now since we've changed anything on a large scale for WarZ, so as a team we've put our heads together to finally introduce seasons. We currently have a lot in the works like the new map that we planned on dropping with seasons, but as a team we've decided starting now with some fairly minor changes will spice up the game-mode a lot and keep you guys entertained whilst we work extremely hard on getting it finished. So, if you're wondering what to expect from season 1, here's the rundown.

    War / WarZ 20 style guns.

    • This may have been one of the more controversial and unpopular decisions but we've polished up a better gun plugin that we want to introduce. It will give us more control over the current guns and make it easier changing/adding them in the future. These new guns are not exactly the same as WarZ 20, but will decrease knockback for a more realistic affect.

    New Sub-lobby / Spawn area with Tutorial System.
    • As shown on the Public Roadmap we have been working on a sub-lobby with a tutorial system for new players. The sub-lobby/spawn area will give players a safe-place to chill out with their friends after looting as we will introduce a /spawn command that will take 30 seconds to get into. The sub-lobby will also have a practice gun room area for players to practice combo-ing and using different guns.
    • The tutorial system will be made mandatory for all players to complete at least once before playing WarZ. This will hopefully teach new players what to do before being thrown in the deep end, thus increasing our player retention.

    Complete Stats, Loot & ELO Wipe.
    • Stats: We're going to begin tracking player stats and awarding prizes at the end of each season for people who get the highest in certain categories. This will be further explained but could be Top Kills, Top ELO, Top playtime, Top team & Top Looter etc.
    • Loot: The current loot table dates back extremely far and has inflated far too much. This will put everyone back on a level playing field, be more inviting to new players and make the game-mode exciting again.
    • ELO: The current ELO stats have also inflated massively, Legend used to be hard to gain but has now been acquired by multiple players and needs to become a sought after rank again.

    Armour Forger, Sky Diver & Bus Driver NPC's.
    • All of these new NPC's will be found in the Sub-lobby of each server. You can get into the Sub-lobby through /spawn to use these. They're all fairly self-explanatory; Armour Forger allows you to finally combine broken pieces of any Armour you have, Sky Diver drops you into the map on a parachute and the Bus Driver allows you to spawn into a zone for a high amount of tokens.

    New transportation system - Wild West style horses.
    • Maximum horse speed has been reduced.
    • No longer able to shoot guns whilst riding horses.
    • /call system added, you can call your horse in from anywhere.
    • Donors get horses as part of their package that can respawn.
    • Horses with varying speeds will be purchasable on https://shop.brawl.com/.
    • Horses will allow 1 row of storable loot separate to ender-chest.

    New custom Ender-Chests and Non-Donor teleport timer.
    • Non-Donors will be given 1 row by default, /tpa timer decreased to 15 minutes.
    • VIP has been decreased to 2 E-Chest rows.
    • MVP is the same at 3 E-Chest rows.
    • Elite has been increased to 4 E-Chest rows.

    New Booster! Zone 7 Booster.
    • Due to popular request we will be adding a new booster to our store. The zone 7 booster is pretty self-explanatory and will allow for there to be multiple Zone 7's at once for a certain amount of time on a map.
    • We will also be removing the Enderchest & /tpa boosters from our store as they are barely bought.

    Quality of life changes (QOL).
    • Team-mates name-tags are now green. Enemies name-tags are now red.
    • When shooting a player it will now visually show how much damage your bullets have done.
    • Horse Armour and Wheat now found in chests.
    • Canned Fish have been removed.
    • Corned Beef has been added, rarer than pasta, heals 4 hearts.
    • UZI has been replaced by Mac-10.
    • Sugar spawn-rate has doubled and now drops in stacks of 2.
    • Ladders can now be placed outside of towns.
    • /team ff has been added allowing you to toggle friendly-fire.
    • Placeable Walls now have a cool-down of 5 seconds between each use.
    • Warrior ELO rank is now pink.
    • Teams that have been inactive for 28 days will be automatically disbanded.
    • Golden Helmet has been nerfed from Protection V to Protection IV.
    • Protection I has been removed from enchanted Diamond Helmet & Diamond Boots.

    Progress, but about the playtime. Try and implement a system in which AFK hours are not counted and moving for X amount of time toggles this tracking system. But I usually don't comment anything non-troll so, honestly impressed I hope it works out.

    I think that the echest changes should be adding rows instead of removing rows; VIP should have regular echest rows, MVP should have +1, ELITE should have +2, etc. (the actual number of rows added can be variable but the point stands)

    We'll see how it plays out on live servers.

    Those we're starting ideas, completely agree with that though and we'll get something put in. Still got quite a bit of work to get done with setup. :stuck_out_tongue: Thank you though btw.

    how u gonna make VIP lose a row for there enderchest that's bs i payed my money but whitenames get a free row without paying anything at all. Like what?

    I don't think Echest should be changed at all!!?!?! coming from a lifetime elite and I don't agree with the change on echest, that officially makes the server more pay to win than it already is and adds such an unfair advantage to the server... There definitely need changes and more to talk about.

    Some thoughts/critique on the seasons thread (great job btw, alot of the updates are nice)

    New guns:
    - If the decision was unpopular, I think it would be fairer if we had a testing period. The builders/staff got to test the guns but the community didn't. I know there was a poll, but the poll wasn't based on those guns. It wouldve been nice to have a testing period for a big update like this, and for future ones.

    Sub-lobby:
    - Will you "tp" to it?
    - Why should it take 30 secs as opposed to 10 (same as logout)? If this is to prevent abusing /spawn so that you arent camped on logout, thats actually a pretty good idea
    - tutorial area is amazing. i would add a /tutorial that takes time to teleport to if you ever want to go back

    Stats/loot/elo wipe:
    - since elo is currently inflated, will there be a system to prevent this? a reset might be a bandaid solution for elo. hats off for the other resets though it was much needed

    sky diver:
    - the current parachute can take a player to a zone 6 almost immediately if dropped from a level a plane flies. would they drop lower, and would there be multiple spawn points for the sky diver?

    transportation:
    - not sure about /call system
    - not sure about horses respawning with donors
    - the speeds of the horses should be random imo
    - horse chests is a very nice addition

    Removing /tpa and ec boosters:
    - dont think this is necessary. they are rarely bought but still bought from time to time. a whitename can still benefit from having 3 full rows for an hour to store loot like diamond etc. even if they cant access it - better than dying with it

    QOL:
    - sugar spawn rates shouldnt be touched, they already spawn every few chests with boosters and i always have 20+ in my inv
    - what constitutes an inactive team?
    - THANKS FOR NERFING GHELM AND REMOVING PROT

    i agree, this would also discourage storage alts a little more and greatly improve the qol of all rank buyers

    why not just make fish do the same as corn beef instead of changing the item all together :I. Also, if WarZ gets WarZ20 guns imma blow a fuse
