    Brawl Junior Moderator Application

    Read over this thread: http://www.brawl.com/threads/14752/
If you do not meet the requirements (active, helpful, must have Discord, etc) do not apply yet; it will be an auto deny.

What is your in-game name? My current account name is Rejeqted.
Is your Minecraft account secured and migrated? Yes.

How old are you? I'm 18 years old.
What time zone are you in? UTC+2, living in Germany.
Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages?
I am a fluent speaker in both English and German.

What is your experience and knowledge of Brawl?
I have been playing brawl since 2016 as part of the CTF community. I've been engaged with CTF for a while now, and know the mechanics and gameplay of the gamemode very well. Shortly after joining, I fell in love with the competitive scene, leading to the creation of my own teams (Emoji, The Legion, and Diligence), as well as becoming a member on other teams (Defiance, Water Taste, Unity, The Roxerces, Ethereal, and Annihilation).

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any?
I have never been a moderator on a public Minecraft server before. However, I have spent countless hours on brawl and other multiplayer servers and have observed many staff members (some of which I know well) doing their jobs.

Why do you want to become a moderator on Brawl?
The main reason would be, I want to help Brawl with all my ideas and time dedication. I would want to close the gap between Staff and community, for example by including suggestions from the community to my ideas.
Here my role as PPM host pays off, it has given me more than once the opportunity to think about concerns that the community has expressed.
Being a PPM host, means for me to care for the community and that I want to change it for the better, I want to keep CTF enjoyable for it's community.
In addition to my team involvement, my leadership experience increased by being a PPM host.
I've also heard there is a lack of EU staff, and wish to help resolve this issue.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? I've never used a hacked client.

Have you ever been punished (banned, kicked, muted, etc) legitimately on a public Minecraft server? If so, why? I was once warned in October of 2019 for farming. After regretting my decision, I learned from the warning to never do such thing again and I have not been warned since.

What do you consider your greatest strength?
I consider my greatest strength my communication skills. It really has helped me understand the issues from most players. Furthermore this allows me to minimize, as I stated earlier, the gap between Staff and community. This skill doesn't only help me to clarify important situations, but it also allows new players to interact with me easier than most.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?
Ghost clients are what I believe to be my biggest weakness. I fear I lack knowledge when it comes to this stage but I feel I can overcome it with gaining more experience on them.
Which Brawl server(s) are you most active on?
I am by far the most active on CTF, but I also play on Build to create Maps for CTF.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? 2
What is the date of the last application you submitted?
    August 13, 2018.
Do you have Discord? Yes, Dot#9157

Anything else you would like to state?

No, everything I want to state has already been stated.

Please insert a Yes / No poll below.

You're definitely very experienced with the gamemode and teamscene. You've also demonstrated excellent leadership, as shown by your role as a leader in the current tournament. +1

Transparency between staff and the community is important, so how would you go about doing so? What changes do you think could help improve this?
I also think your statement here can definitely be rephrased and further elaborated on. It's clear you have excellent ideas and have suggested them on the forums (https://www.brawl.com/threads/76514/, https://www.brawl.com/threads/76557/ being two good examples), but I don't quite get what you mean by "including suggestions from the community to my ideas." I think people are capable of submitting their own ideas, and you can definitely improve on them and communicate with the staff team about it, but it sounds like you're saying you'll steal their ideas! (not really, but sort of)
    +0 here for now.

PPM Host that actually hosts PPMs. +1

Your punishment history shows more than just your warning for farming. While 2/3 warnings were quite a while ago and I definitely would not say you are rude or aggressive, you should still at least bring them up here even if they're not that worrisome. https://www.brawl.com/history/rejeqted
    -0.5

I haven't talked to you much before, but I don't ever see you talk too much ingame. Perhaps that's due to the timezone difference (and my sleep schedule), and while it's alright to be quite reserved as a staff member, I would like to see a bit more communication/participation with the "casual" side of CTF.
Or perhaps that's because I don't know you well, but I would like to see a bit more communication with the community as a whole, and assisting newer players.
+0.5, but definitely easy to improve on.

How can you go about learning more about ghost clients? Can you think of any resources that might help you detect them? I personally don't know, but you should elaborate on how you can overcome it.
    +0

I'd say overall a +0.5, but you definitely should elaborate and go into depth on various parts of the application. I feel have some excellent qualities that would make a great staff member, but the application doesn't fully express them. In the areas where you should improve a little, the application fails to express how. I'd lean more towards a +0, but with a lot of potential.

    Best of luck!

+1 knowledgeable about the game mode for sure. Active, mature, and I'm sure if accepted you can pick up this easily.

Those are much farther back and I believe he just didnt remember so I dont see much of an issue on that as they are either way a good while back.
Ghost clients arent the easiest thing to learn about and to see. It can take months to catch someone or fully understand them as is.

    Hey Ivan,
    thanks for your reply!

First of all I think it’s important to note that the staff members are already making a big effort to be more transparent with the community, which I am completely for. I feel that I specifically would ensure that each player with feedback is always given a voice, as from my experience many players who play during early/afternoon eu do not receive the same voice that many others receive. In addition, many of these players do not end up becoming a part of the CTF community so on top of helping them voice their opinion I would be there to act as a stepping stone in bringing them into the community.

I definitely don't want to steal anybody's ideas. Usually the community expresses their ideas in the community discord suggestions channel, instead of making a forum post since it is a lot easier.
As a staff member I would reflect on those suggestions and bring them up in discussions, since sometimes staff are absent from the channel.
In addition, being a very active part of the community lets me communicate with a huge amount of people, with them telling me their concerns and thoughts.
With the recent testing about Chemist and Assassin, I discussed possible changes with my friends about them.
Currently the few European CTF staff members are not active in the day, and as a part of the staff team I would work on changing that, thus allowing the European community to have a bigger voice.

Sorry for that. I was more focused on my most recent warning. Ever since I got that warning, I’ve worked on bettering myself, focusing more on doing my best to help new players (answering questions in casual as example).
I’ve also put in effort to adopt a friendlier and more approachable attitude as I know being a staff member means that I have to be an example to others.

I believe this is due to the timezone difference, you can check my playtime here: https://www.brawl.com/stats/ctf/playtime/7/.

The best way for me to learn about them, would be by installing a ghost client myself. I would be able to learn more about the ghost client itself and I could detect it easier. If this doesn't seem enough, I would ask staff members, that are informed about ghost clients, to teach me how to detect them.

    Thanks Moist!

Yes I do understand that, and I am definitely extremely far from even understanding some of the things but I have heard that they are hard to learn about, which is why I asked.

Yea I'm aware of the timezone difference, and I know you have a bunch of playtime. Perhaps I was thinking way overboard, and you're way more active in the Discord than I realized. My bad, your clarification on the topics I touched on is more than enough to change my vote to a +1. Best of luck.

You are very mature and your knowledge on the game is extensive. I have no doubt in my mind that you are fit to take on this role. +1 from me.

P.S. Your listed weakness is one that all staff members dealt with at some point and time. I’m sure it can be overcome with time and practice.

I think Dot/Rejeqted would honestly fit perfectly for Jmod. He is literally the sweetest and most responsible person I've met on CTF and always looking for improvement, so hopefully you get it buddy .

I see you as a long-standing and well respected member of the CTF community. In my experience, having worked closely with Dot during my time as representative of Ethereal [ETH], he'd shown to be mature, unproblematic, intelligent, responsible, and accountable. He's also shown that he works well with a team. Likely one of the easiest +1s that I would give to a JMOD app, I know Dot is a great fit for the role.

    Good luck! +1

You are very mature, and sweet. You have good ideas for the CTF community and continue to show your dedication thru being a PPM host, a draft tourney leader, and just in general interacting in CTF gen. I'm glad you're working towards more transparency between staff and EU ctfers and I truly do believe you have the best intentions towards CTF.
    Big +1, good luck!!
