I was happy to see the server finally updated to 1.16 but the staff really shat the bed on its execution. From a rushed launch, little testing, and dog**** mid map changes, you might as well delete the gamemode. Below is my constructive criticism on why this server sucks now more than ever.

    Staff

The staff generally seem to have a giant stick up their asses and it's clearly rubbing players the wrong way. Not everyone is bothered by it, and not all staff are arrogant, but it's a big enough issue imo that makes the server unenjoyable. The staff should be more chill and act more like players, not mall security guards or robots. Lighten up, let people talk **** and please actually take care of the spammers/noobs asking for help and stuff. There's also been a few staff members that have told me that the problem is internal too. For mods to complain to ME of all people about poor management and staff feud, the problem must be pretty big. You guys really gotta get your ducks in a row if you want the community to be happy as staff have a big impact on server enjoyment.

    Bugs

This Beta map is a joke. Why the hell would you ever release a gamemode this rushed and with so much **** wrong with it still? The server should have been shut down after a few days when all the duping and game breaking bugs started to occur. It's embarrassing and leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth. Fix it before you try to relaunch/rebrand something with SO much potential. I've never seen a beta release this rough before, and it definitely should have been delayed until a more playable game was ready.

    XP Bottles

Who's bright idea was it to remove this? The whole point of xp bottling was to free people up for fights more readily. Add a cooldown to it if you think it's too OP or whatever, which I still don't get, you still have to grind for the same amount of XP either way. It has no relationship to mending imo, as you're facing a trade off for the use of XP. Both should be enabled.

    Tracking Changes

What the ****?? Making an iron tracker in the nether isn't OP at all. If you're quick enough to catch someone moving towards you, you should be rewarded to move your stuff out asap. I have trackers in all my bases to help me with that. If it's an obby tracker in the nether I'm just going to loot the ores and stay around to prevent the enemy from mining the obby if they choose to, it's literally no different. This is such an unnecessary change for something that isn't OP at all. What next, are you going to require bases be above ground because hiding them makes raids too tricky?

The new trackers are wack too, crying obsidian isn't easy to get and they're basically pointless. If anything it just make's it more overwhelming for new players. The temp tracker is okay tho I guess.

    Villager Breeding

You really screwed the pooch with this one. Villager trading is basically useless now. If you aren't blessed with a good trade from one you find theres no point to it. This literally makes so many other farms utterly useless. All you need now is a good xp farm and a ton of time to get by on raid now, it's so one dimensional. I get villager trading for enchanted books is pretty op but cant there be other solutions? Make the trades more expensive, remove the good omen effect or whatever it's called, or make adding enchanted books to items cost more xp. Removing the effect entirely is lazy and causes more problems than it fixes imo.

I really hope this server can be turned around because it's pretty sad seeing it still dead after such a potentially successful change has been made. If advertising the new server and polishing it up is done well I'm really hopeful in raids success.

I've felt this way since I first realized Brawl had a chat protocol. It is quite overbearing in my opinion, for raid, but trying to get big change as a mod, not allowed to head anything, can be challenging. But eventually I'll prevail and get raid fixed.

I do not know about any internal issues, but one thing I can say is that the staff tier system does not work for raid. This is one of my biggest things I would like to see changed, so that there can actually be things that decent staff can do for the gamemode. It is demoralizing to only be able to ban for obvious fly hacks, or warn for rules I do not agree with.

That being said, you have to follow the rules as they are, and all we can do is work toward a better server.

There's a LOT more to this than you know. Planning could have been better, it is a learning experience for sure to see all the things we could have done better. However, we planned the beta map in order to iron out issues like we have been.

Xp bottles were removed to allow mending to exist more reasonably. Essentially, I think that the xp you have in a bottle is now limited only by the amount of armor you have.

One HUGE issue people had was kiting. Kiting is more reasonable if you have few armor sets. With the old system, you assume the reuse of armor for am extended period of time, ie a close to infinite life cycle. With mending, and hopefully keeping the new enchanting, we would just have more armor. With more armor in rotation, there would (theoretically) be less kiting. Who cares if they die with a set or two if they have 20 more on standbye?

You should take a look at my last post about it. It is INSANELY OP. Regarding the speed, literally using 16 iron blocks, and 4 gold blocks, for a 250 all directions tracker next to even just a vanilla, you would have plenty of time to mine up the tracker, and warp out. There is absolutely ZERO skill in this. Now, if you take 1.5 minutes to mine up these trackers (assuming 2k all directions), you are unrivaled. There is no risk, no skill, and no brain. I had some friends use this method for ****s and giggles a few times, and it worked without anyone being able to do a thing about it every time.

Villager trading is untouched. However, using zombie spawners to convert zombie villagers will be used instead of breeding, as the original zombie count is finite and will decline due to raids. This just takes the OP breeding mechanics, and replaces them with different mechanics that require slightly more resources. This just makes villager trading less OP than it currently is. Having used it for 1 hr in raid, and having used it in a realm for weeks, it is an insanely OP thing. I think this is a good change, and does not remove any trading from the game.

I've heard from a couple staff members saying that raid is poorly managed and planning has been a mess for a while now. I know I've been gone for a long time but the lack of organization is showing from what I've seen so far. It seems like less and less people care over time and it's a real shame. Whether having more strong voices at the top will fix that or cause more issues, who knows, but something has to change for the server to succeed.

Not saying I know all of what's going on, but I heard some things that seemed extremely questionable. Bottom line, the planning and execution is someone's fault. Unless if putty was held at gunpoint to release raid 1.16 on time no matter what, then it could have been delayed until it was more stable. It was rushed and it pissed so many players off, you can see how much the player count has dwindled each day.

I don't get what your point is here. More gear should mean more PVP and less worry about losing loot, so isn't that a good thing? It's not like people would have a stupid amount of loot with mending + current enchanting + xp bottling. The shop glitch/blacksmith villager has basically been a form of mending since the start of SPVP, so I don't really get your point about kiting, nothing really has changed at all. If I have 30 levels on me and a fight is available, I won't want to hop in some gear and join in, it's an added risk I don't want to lose - XP bottling made fights easier to join in, this is the larger issue and it has no relevance to mending at all.

You 100% should be protected if you safeguard your warps with trackers. It's a skill that is good to pick up on and takes resources, quick thinking, and speed. I can literally do the exact same thing with an obsidian tracker if I wanted to, and that's whats mostly frustrating about this. I can still loot the ores and stop them from mining my obsidian if they want to, making it a giant waste of their time by seeing if someone is coming towards me.

Also what's to stop me from setting up a 2k obby tracker in a nether vault and doing the exact same "OP mega unfair" tactic to protect all my loot?? Iron trackers aren't the issue, it's nether travel if you really want to pick a bone with it, but I really don't see any issue with it at all anyways.

I didn't think about converting zombies, but is that interaction still possible with mob stacking if you use a spawner? Even still it seems like an annoying extra step that will only cost you 8 gold to get the same outcome. I personally feel that villager breeding + more expensive book combinations would feel more intuitive but it is what it is.

My point is that the new enchamting and no xp bottles would result in a higher amount of sets being crafted.

This here is the issue. You can buy an xp booster and be done grinding for the whole map. Hell, i did this in past maps with 1.7 enchants! And anyone who says 'sch noob you dont pvp' rainer did this too and he goes through more gear than 99% of yall do.

It is Skilless. It takes 1hr to mine a stack of iron blocks. The 'resources' needed for 350x350 is 24 blocks, so just over 22 mins of mining gets this. There is no skill or thought in doing this, trist me I've seen noob bases with this. Hell, I took a screenshot for a presentation of a noob who made one.

Yes, and way easier if you're actively there not letting them stack, since you can kill the regular ones.

You raise some valid points, it is quite clear you used to run this place. If you plan on sticking around, I'd love to keep talking to you about a lot of these things, it isn't often people are willing to give this level of feedback. And of course I'll end up having gotten a change wrong somewhere, thats inevitable, I dont know everything. But again, would love to see you be active and willing to discuss ideas again.

You bring a stack of level 20 bottles and you can repair all your armour pieces 16 times in 1 fight just by spashing 4 bottles. Thats broken as ****. So either have xpbottles OR mending. Both combined are just stupid op. Also xp boosters in combination with xpbottles were twice as op as before so this provided a much needed nerf to them

Its a beta map after all. What did you expect tbh lmao. I was meant to be up 2 weeks

I thought about the xp bottles being used in fights too but couldn't they be disabled in the spawn area? Or disable mending on gear? Xp bottling is mad important imo and adds a lot of flexibility to how people play. Regarding the booster, I dont see an issue with people taking an advantage of a purchase like that. If they choose to spend the hour at an xp farm and bottling it all up, they face the risk of being raided for staying at the warp for so long. If anything it makes the booster more appealing, and brawl really needs that since the ranks and other boosters kinda blow. It's still grinding for the xp, so I dont see it as bad or anything.

Yeah.... I get it's a beta map but jesus christ it's an absolute **** show. It's so extremely rough and its pissing everyone off. The player count is nonexistent now and that could have been avoided if this dumbass beta was more playable. It was such an important update and the execution couldn't have been worse. If it doesn't get SERIOUSLY improved by the next map I'm done 100%, this is raids last hope tbh

I think gear being more accessible is a good thing. Most people don't find grinding for stuff very fun anymore (another thread coming soon), and it makes the loss of dying in a fight way worse. I just feel like this whole hardcore grinding limited loot mentality to be extremely outdated and not popular. People like fights, not losing the clothes off their back, and being able to recover from being raided. This can still be balanced though, but I think the server would greatly benefit from moving into this direction.

Ok, but maybe this "issue" can be solved in different ways apart from limiting players' choices. Maybe reduce the nether borders next map to make it more realistic to travel to. Make the bottom/top few layers netherrack only. Maybe explore other avenues of traveling through that **** ass wasteland, idk, but limiting where people can make things because it's too good of a strategy is dumb imo.

    [/QUOTE]
Thanks for actually responding to what I'm saying here with information and a conversation. Brawl's staff team/leadership needs more of this. Listen to the few people that give a ****, listen to the players, and don't fear change. This **** is dead as hell and it needs to face serious criticism. I really hope things will improve because the server still has a lot of potential and I want to enjoy playing it again.

I think you misunderstood what I meant to say. I am implying that this change will actually make pvp gear easier to get. We are promoting less times needed to grind, as you only cost the equivalent to level 15 (I checked) to get from 27 to 30. This is super easy to do. The only downside is, you can not 'preemptively' repair armor using xp bottles. However, my reasoning is, the easier grinding (about 4.5x more enchants, after an initial grind to level 27) will result in people having more gear. With this, you'll be more likely to be ok with dropping in a fight, because it isn't extremely rare.

Reducing the boarder is something I worked hard to get reverted. The benefit of a bigger nether I think outweighs the convenience of a half size boarder. Replacing the hard to travel nature could solve this issue.

You have never been able to track in the nether, until brawl made it so you can some time after I quit (idk when). Tracking is supposed to be high risk, high reward. One thing is, they wanted trackers to be able to counter eachother. We are limiting where trackers can be made, yes this is the point. I see how you might find this bad, but let me explain my reasoning.

Essentially, you have to understand the dimensions. The overworld is the easy to travel, easy to access dimension. The nether is the slightly harder, much safer, way less traveled dimension. This has clearly changed in 1.16. But the point I am trying to make stands.

In a tracker, you are able to have an extremely high reward of raiding someone else's base. The nether is a dimension that is harder to travel to and therefore more ways to counter being tracked (obby or iron alike). By building a tracker in the overworld, you run the risk of someone just randomly pulling up and raiding. In the nether, you do not have this risk. Along with this example, see the things I have previously said about iron tracking. That method is so OP that an anonymous player messaged me angry that I got 'his' tracking method disabled.

    > Complains about staff members

    > Current staff members are, at least for Raid (other server staff have absolutely got a tone of problems) excellent and engage with the community a ton

Now, let's go to your past:

    > You killed the server's player counts, made a really salty resignation with some serious bull**** and unneccesary flame
    > Repeatedly encouraged leaking of staff information to you
    > You banned half the TeamSpeak server because you still had a rank and decided to flex as the salt pumping through your veins is next level

    > Comes back recently and probably scammed a bunch of people
    > This entire thread is just a bunch of pointless angry spiteful hate - the system is far from perfect and you're quite correct to point it out but this just idiotic

    > Also you scammed a little kid

    So here we are

Ok so we are on the same page about that then, great. But I still think there could be a better solution to repairing the armor in fights and whatnot with xp bottles. The easiest one would be to just remove mending from armor only, which would still allow for people to get lots of gear by purchasing xp boosters and easily grinding with the vanilla enchanting mechanics. This way, mending would still be a good option for plenty of other tools, but fights won't become stupid long. I just feel that losing gear + potentially a large amount of XP in a fight feels pretty punishing and could deter players from pvping at a moments notice - XP bottles reduced this and I thought it was extremely healthy.

What are the benefits if you can only build certain things there? I only use iron trackers, so now I'm forced to do that in the overworld, which is a massive piss off and I don't want to spend an even longer amount of time digging out the area for it. It's a ****ty change for such a small issue to begin with imo. I don't think we'll ever agree on this, but whatever.

So my understanding here is that the nether is too OP because of the travel time / less traffic, and you can safeguard your warps even more by having a small iron tracker there with you so you can pack up shop if someone's near, correct? But this literally goes for any warp at all in the nether, not just iron trackers. If I had an afk in the nether, I could do the exact same thing and piss whoever is trying to raid me off by using the exact same strategy. This is what pisses me off the most here, because I could still safeguard any warp I want in the nether with an obby tracker and in theory the issue is exactly the same. Sure iron trackers can be mined up faster than an obby tracker, but I could move all my loot in a much faster time if someone tracked a nether base I had, right??

What were all the options/where can this server be found? My understanding from what carno was saying in game was it was either mending on everything, or XP bottles, that was it. I think both can be allowed and balanced properly to please both sides of the arguments.

How about you stop giving carno a reach around and realize I'm trying to give feedback to help the server here. These aren't my ideas/opinions alone, I've talked to many people, staff included, who agree with some of the points I'm making. The server has never been this bad before, and that is 100% factual. The server has been dead since the first 1.8 map dragged on unnecessarily, and the direction of the server still wasn't where I wanted it to be when I was managing it, but I'm sorry you felt I killed it, despite you never really playing it or being relevant on the server for very long. But if you want to keep holding onto the past and following me around on the forums smearing your **** across legitimate threads I'm trying to make, go for it bud.

Not gonna argue that it's in a bad state but the person dragging others is the one behind your monitor. You. You consistently and constantly drag Carno because he, quite rightly, made a fuss when you scammed his little brother, a KID, and then went on to become a wayyyyy better staff member than you did. Considering your actions during and following your staff tenure you are absolutely the last person in the world who can be flaming staff members on Raid.

Also who said I didn't play? You raided me several times while, just to point it out, I was bug-testing with Eil, so here we are

No server is ever going to be perfect - just take HG, or Kit, or other HG servers. Same here. But Raid has been exceedingly stale since 2016. Even the current crop of tryhardy US Raid servers are total garbage and fully recycled crap. When I worked on one of the several recent HG servers I did work for, we *always* tried to reinvent stuff in a new light, which works up to a point. What Carno (and the other Raid staff and devs, s/o to you lads) has tried is something fully new. Yes, it's a buggy mess, but that's a) Brawl and b) 1.16, which is a **** version, but it's used by what? 70% of the current MC playerbase? Are you not constantly crying about a lack of new players?

Are you on the spectrum or something lmfao. There's literally no point talking to you if you're just going to talk about **** I did years ago, and am clearly not doing now. My post isn't attacking carno, it's addressing the long time failure of raid. This includes way more than him, and while you probably feel really proud defending him, I don't think you realize I'm trying to help out the server and give some feedback that I think is actually achievable now, that wasn't before when I was around. Read my other post on what I think this means, but don't bother replying if you're going to be salty and stuck on some bull**** that happened ages ago, including me raiding you?? Move on already jesus christ

Mate if I was salty believe me, you'd notice, I was proving the point but here we are. If you're gonna be allowing people to "talk ****" it usually ends in players using racist or genuinely offensive language after round about 2-3 months of slow escalation. Not gonna happen on a server with a ton of kids on it.

Every time you come back you start some sort of flame war, and it's bothering a lot of people. It's pointless. Your arguments, fair and correct as they may be, are not what I'd call particularly helpful (see other thread for exampls, unless you deleted them already) or openminded. I may be anachronistic as **** (HG time yes) but you seem to refuse to see that Raid needs to adapt at least a teensy tiny bit to be able to compete.

That's my salt, if you want more you can go on flaming me by all means

Alright. So basically, teams servers have been failing lately for a variety of reasons. We determined that one reason was because we used an outdated version of the game. By not allowing for people to enjoy vanilla minecraft, one of the major draws we had, because teams servers are one of few free roam, rule free vanilla servers, we lost player counts. Back in the day, half of the players on at any time were just randoms, BR players who messed about, or people who played it like survival for a little while and then moved on.

Once we lost out on these players, counts started to drop. Active players saw this, and it felt like people were quitting. So, people quit, and it fell more.

0racle was manager at this point, if I remember correctly. You did what you thought would fix the issue. It worked for a while, but you were stitching holes in something that is on fire, slowly getting worse. But the fixes worked for active while, so props to you.

Now, we are where we should never have been. With either minehq or original mcpvp resources, teams servers would be up to date with 1.16 already. The overpowered mechanics would be nerfed. New players would be coming to play, even for a few days before quitting.

This is how I think things should have gone. We would have had less abrupt change. Players would ease into the change, rather than be hit in the face with a bag of bricks that are the new features.

Enter the update. Nothing went well. We had tested, and fixed bugs, but with 8 versions and 4 years of minecraft version updates, stuff was bound to break. We (the devs, shoutout to them) have been working on fixing these issues. Features that are game breaking are being dealt with so that the game can feel more fluid and enjoyable.

It is a very disappointing thing to see a reset go so poorly. However, we are working each and every day to prepare ourselves for the official release, and we hope to see everyone back, and enjoy the game they once loved, even more than ever.

In my opinion they rushed into this update way too fast not even seeing what the odds, glitches, and problems with 1.16 were fully. not gonna accuse players of this but im pretty sure 80% of the community has duped atleast once this map. there are alot of glitches and everything wrong with the map and i hope it gets fixed very soon or i think raid wont be able to come back after such a hard decrease of players.

Including mending/xp bottles, mending should be removed entirely not just from enchanters. I really think the enchantment system is good seeing how its the only way to get good stuff without villagers and other things that are either buffed, removed or changed. so in my opinion xp bottle should be added and mending should be taken completely out of the game.
With the nether tracking, i do not see how this is such a big deal seeing how most of the past years alot of trackers build theirs in the nether and didnt have a problem with it, also its good for maybe a newish player who wants to build their first or one of the first trackers and mine out a really quick area to add it too.

With staff issues, i have to agree with you 0racle seeing the fact that alot of people have the issue of staff warning for almost useless in game chats. i know it may not be as bad but i remember i was getting muted left and right just for messing with my friends. i think staff need to know when a joke becomes serious and when its just a friendly talk between friends. i know threats and racism should be punished but i dont think how messing with a friend over maybe a joke is any reason to warn or mute someone. Maybe just telling them to not talk in such a perverted way but not automatically warning them or muting them over it.

finally in my opinion if people are just going through the process of duping instead of actually having fun its kinda sad in my opinion.

Remeber though, we skipped so many minecraft versions, it was difficult to anticipate every bug. Especially when we as staff spend alot of time staffing and have even less time to play those minecraft versions outselves like on other servers or solo worlds before we decided to update.

I will get a discussion started on meding and XP/Enchanting to see where people are at.

Probably in the Raid/McPvP Community discord. Those of you who are not in this discord and would like to be, you can join the fun here: https://discord.gg/F5TYVjq
I will wait a day or two, and give anyone a chance to join.
I do. "Iqn Please don't disrespect other players, Thank you" then when a player carries on I warn/mute. I do give a fair chance and I know other staff do too? idk maybe some staff don't but thats not my place to say.

You can use teamchat, or PM as well as party chat  You won't get warned there as long as no one you are taking with chatreports you.
